The real Jon Stewart on
´´the Jon Stewart of Egypt´´

CBS News, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:ocjim, 3/17/2014 12:27:49 AM

What does Jon Stewart think of the Egyptian comic who copied the concept behind ´´The Daily Show´´ to create a carbon-copy in Cairo that attracts an estimated 30 million viewers every week? In a conversation with 60 Minutes, Stewart calls the comedy of Bassem Youssef ´´heroic´´ and ´´amazing.´´ ´´He is doing a live show in a theater in downtown. I mean, he is a hundred yards from Tahrir Square, doing a show about the effects of government on the Egyptian people,´´ says Stewart. ´´Nothing that he does is ordinary, even if it is something that is typical of any show that you would see here."

Comments:
This censorship story is so rich in irony... Irony lost upon CBS News. The week they finally release Sharyl Attkisson, they put on a 60 Minutes story about throttled free speech in Egypt. The Egyptians are so crude. If you want to muffle news critical of the regime coming from a Youssef or Attkisson, be sophisticated and do it the CBS News Obama way and just legally tie down the troublesome reporter under contract and spike their stories for a few years.

Please split long headline & post source properly. LCom Staff.

The Muslim Brotherhood will be testifying in Stewart´s intellectual property lawsuit against his Egyptian doppelganger.

Let´s see, we have a missing 777 airliner with a politically radicalized muslim pilot, Russia taking over the Crimea, a civil war in Syria, Hamas lobbing shells into Israel, and the venerated "60 Minutes" is interviewing Jon Stewart!

I understand imitation is the greatest form of flattery. When will Jon be "heroic" and "amazing" by reporting the effects of government on the American people?

It is hard not to have total contempt for a political culture that thinks the picture at right is a useful contribution to rescuing 276 schoolgirls kidnapped by jihadist savages in Nigeria. Yet some pajama boy at the White House evidently felt getting the First Lady to pose with this week´s Hashtag of Western Impotence would reflect well upon the Administration. The horrible thing is they may be right: Michelle showed she cared - on social media! - and that´s all that matters, isn´t it?

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say. In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. They said taxpayers deserve to know about the contagious diseases and the risks the children pose to Americans. I have agreed to not to disclose their identities because they fear retaliation and prosecution.

A crowd of 300 angry protestors forced three buses carrying 140 undocumented migrant children and their parents to turn around in Murrieta, California, on Tuesday after they blocked the road. The dramatic confrontation between the flag waving protestors and the Homeland Security buses came one day after Mayor Alan Long urged residents to resist the federal government´s plan to transfer the Central American migrants to California to ease overcrowding of facilities along the Texas-Mexico border. Holding up banners that said ´Return to Sender´ and suggesting the children should be sent to the White House instead, the irate protestors succeeded when the buses

The Israeli Air Force carried out what it called "precision strikes" on 34 "terror targets" in the Gaza Strip overnight, after the discovery of the bodies of three Israeli teenagers who were kidnapped in the West Bank earlier this month. The Israeli Defense Forces said the strikes were in response to rockets being launched earlier into Israel from Gaza. The waves of rockets from Gaza and IDF retaliations have picked up since the teens were kidnapped and the Israeli crackdown began. Hamas has not claimed responsibility for launching the rockets but Israel holds them responsible for everything coming out of Gaza. The Israel Defense

President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama had a bit of a weird moment at the White House tonight during an LGBT reception when the president praised the exquisite work of the White House Executive Pastry Chef and joked if he puts crack in them. A crack joke at the White House. Bet you never saw that coming. The Obamas said they were sad to see Bill Yosses leave the White House. The president said, “His pies––I don’t know what he does, whether he puts crack in them––but…” The first lady quickly jumped in to clarify that no, “there is no crack in our

NEW YORK — Target is asking its customers to not bring firearms into its stores, even where it is allowed by law. In a statement posted Wednesday on the retailer´s corporate blog, interim CEO John Mulligan said that Target wants a "safe and inviting" atmosphere for its shoppers and employees. "Bringing firearms to Target creates an environment that is at odds with the family-friendly shopping and work experience we strive to create," he said. (Snip) A group called Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America gathered nearly 400,000 signatures for a petition asking Target to prohibit shoppers from carrying guns

WASHINGTON – Republicans see the November midterm elections as an opportunity to take the nation on a different path and call for a new conservative message focusing on the problems of regular Americans. During the latest convention of conservative activist Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition in Washington, D.C., Republicans confidently proclaimed that the GOP has an opportunity to turn back the past six years of President Obama’s administration in the midterm elections. “There’s only one thing to be done in 2014…and that is to take back America by taking back the Senate,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said

Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to President Barack Obama, has a unique item of herself in her office: a photo of herself with three figurines bowing down in worship in front of it. The photo drew attention after Jarrett´s "Meet the Press" interview Sunday — and Jarrett posted a tweet Tuesday afternoon assuring her supporters the display was simply a novelty item. "Don´t worry friends, it was a gag gift," Jarrett wrote, pivoting to some White House messaging about the economy. "Us strong women don´t need worship," she continued, "just an economy for the 21st century. #WomenSucceed." Business Insider directly

For the liberal lawyer trifecta, if you count Laurence Tribe, too. George Washington University professor Jonathan Turley declares it an awful 10 days for Obama administration legal philosophy, having been rebuked on the 4th Amendment in the cell phone case, the 1st Amendment in the Hobby Lobby case, and on separation of powers in the recess appointments case:(Snip for video)Then Jeffrey Toobin offers some perspective on the contents of the Constitution: Obama explained his decision Monday by declaring, “I take executive action only when we have a serious problem, a serious issue, and Congress chooses to do nothing.” “Well,” Toobin reacted, “that’s not

Two Texans may be vying for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016: Sen. Ted Cruz and Governor Rick Perry. Cruz overwhelmingly won the Texas GOP 2016 convention straw poll, confirming his position as the conservative grassroots candidate. He fires up crowds unlike any other politician today, and the power of motivating voters and volunteers should not be underestimated. But will he run in 2016? The signs point to yes. One of his staffers left his office to start a committee to draft him into running. He has visited the early states and spent many weekends during his first 18 months in office raising

In Monica Lewinsky’s first television interview in ten years, the former White House intern will open up about going from “a virgin to humiliation” to “the most humiliated woman in the world.” In clips of her interview with National Geographic obtained by the TODAY show, the former White House intern recalls her experiences after the public release of the Starr report. “That was one of the worst days of my life,” Lewinsky said. “I was a virgin to humiliation of that level, until that day.”

St. Claire Shores, MI -The feminists hadn’t shown up yet, but they could, at any moment, with their protest signs and screaming. The threat of them was an infuriating and exhilarating specter throughout the weekend, a symbol of the oppression facing the men’s rights activists who had gathered to meet for their inaugural conference. Early Friday before the opening session, a wispy trail of men — mostly white, college-through-retirement-age — waited for the doors to open outside of this Veterans of Foreign Wars outpost in suburban Detroit. One man talked about his ex-wife. A lot of guys talked about their ex-wives.

The Obama administration is not too concerned about possible Republican responses to its unilateral administrative actions on immigration. “What that they might sue?” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said laughing when asked Tuesday about possible Republican retaliation for the executive action. “They announced they were doing that last week,” he continued. “So, the prospect that Republicans might do even more to try to obstruct the president’s agenda I think is a little far-fetched. It seems to me they have tried every single thing they can think of already to block progress for this country so the fact that they
