Denville — Two New York men were arrested in Morris County Saturday after police found a pound of marijuana and a loaded gun in their car, officials said. Marvin Guillaume-Sam, 22, of Rosedale, N.Y., and Michael Thomas, 21, of Elmont, N.Y., were pulled over on Route 80 in Denville after their red Nissan Altima was spotted making multiple lane changes without signaling, said State Police spokesman Sgt. "Both men are being held in the Morris County Jail on drug and weapon charges."

Interesting.

States have the prerogative to prohibit drugs, or promote drugs. The drug charge is valid.

The weapons charge is NOT valid. It violates the US Constitution.

A New Jersey man who murdered a police officer in cold blood over the weekend astonishingly is being hailed as a hero by members of the community who have erected a make-shift shrine - complete with candles and empty liquor bottles - in his honor. Fort Sill, Okla. - A Republican congresswoman from Tennessee said the U.S. should cut aid to countries that are home to thousands of children who have crossed the border illegally to pay for the cost of caring for them. Rep. Marsha Blackburn made the comments Saturday after touring a temporary shelter at the Fort Sill Army Post near Lawton where more than 1,100 of the children are housed. Republican Rep. Jim Bridenstine of Oklahoma also toured the facility. Blackburn said Central American countries that the child immigrants are fleeing should be forced to bear the cost of paying for them

New York — A banner aiming to change people´s minds about what swastikas stand for has stirred outrage after it flew over beaches in New York City and on Long Island. Some beachgoers were appalled and officials fielded complaints after a plane toted the banner Saturday. The banner featured swastikas, a peace sign, a Star of David and a "pro-swastika" message. It was arranged by the International Raelian Movement. The group tries annually to remind people that before Adolf Hitler´s rise, the swastika was an ancient symbol of well-being to Hindus and Buddhists, among others. The Raelians — who believe

Middle-class families should stop buying large fridges in order to save energy and tackle climate change, a government-commissioned report has suggested. Families could save up to £36 a year on their electricity bills by replacing large fridge-freezers or televisions with smaller appliances, according to a study published by the Department for Energy and Climate Change. The report found that the average family fridge had grown in volume by two fifths since 1985, amid a fashion for large American-style appliances, while the average television had grown by more than seven inches since 2004.
