Political Flops Spark Sony to
Make Significant Layoffs

Breitbart's Big Hollywood, by Movie Critic*

Original Article

Posted By:mitzi, 3/16/2014 12:33:36 PM

The saddest part of Hollywood will play out this week. According to Deadline Hollywood, massive lay-offs are set to be made at Sony. How many cuts? Try around $100 million dollars worth. I wrote recently how progressive producers were already on thin ice after last year´s box office disappointments After Earth, White House Down, and Elysium--films packed with progressive talking points. Now (as I feared) after the added lackluster returns from Monuments Men and RoboCop, the hammer is set to fall. When others ask why I dislike these political/activist films, it´s because of weeks like these. I hate watching regular

I suppose on the upside - when they lose their jobs and benefits - there´s always ObamaCare. In February, Rep. Ellison said that Americans work too much anyway. And, now they won´t have to follow Pelosi´s suggestion to quit their jobs and do whatever. Sony is enabling them. They can now focus on dreams and aspirations because they have the ObamaCare.

I realize Lucianne is full of folks with snarky comments (including me), and that when they can be made about Hollywood libs it is all that much better. However, this actually is a sad story. The point of it is that it´s not the Hollywood libs who are losing their jobs, it´s the ordinary Joe who actually works for a living, unfortunately at a Hollywood film company. The Matt Damons of the world will continue to make propaganda pieces, when they fail it´s the peons, not Damon, who pays the price. Very sad.

SILWorks in production in LA.
Jobs used to be plentiful -now they are drying up and he and his cohorts know they need to move -Vancouver, New Zealand, Singapore etc are becoming new production hubs.
Sony is also shutting down its LA office and transferring some staff to SF.
The senior Executives, Stars like Damon, Clooney, Jodie Foster and producers like Obamaphile Weinstein are protected by their millions.
It will be some time before the Studios realize that Jamie Foxx may be talented -but his racism -not race-makes him toxic.
Matt Damon´s support of public school teacher UNIONs over students when he sends his children to private schools -makes him toxic.
It is the Little People aka the Middle Class and technocrats who pay for their Progressivism and BAD IDEAS.

Making movies in SoCal is much more expensive than in other locales such as Canada, Nevada, New Mexico, etc. One of the reasons is the death grip that the various unions have on the crafts required to make movies. Think Detroit versus Chattanooga, Tennessee, and you get the picture (no pun intended). Plus moviemakers are being offered pretty generous incentives in the form of tac breaks and rebates to bring their business to other sites that California can´t or won´t match.

Actually #3, Tennessee and Nashville are becoming hotbeds of TV and movie making.

I haven´t been to the movies in years and I don´t see going anytime soon either. And if these progressive producers push more of this propaganda on TV I´ll stop watching that too.

If only the entertainment industry would go back to entertaining. It´s ironic, churches are in the business of entertaining and not preaching and studios preach rather than entertain.

The studio workers who do not support zero are victims. But it´s my hunch that most of the workers are libs, who are too stupid to understand their plight. They are blind ideologues just as the studio executives are.

Imagine how terrific the film industry could be if they freed themselves to make good films with a non-leftist message. A few slip through the cracks each year, but too many of us have soured on the whole industry - and for good reason.

If they make a film that starts out by losing half of the potential audience because of the political overtones then they cannot expect to do well. Plus the half or so that is left includes many people who cannot afford to go out to a movie. That is, low information voters who support the Administration because they receive free benefits, not because the Administration policies are beneficial to the Country.

A little off-topic, but the movie NOAH is opening this week. When I saw the trailer for it last summer, I was blown away and could hardly wait for it to open. Now, I hear it´s all about over-population and environmentalism, if that´s true I won´t go. Also, the Muppet movie, I´m not ashamed to say that I love the Muppets, but when I found out that tina fey was in it, I won´t go to that either.
Why give my hard-earned money to people who hate me and what I stand for.

In my experience maybe not all entertainment industry workers in Los Angeles are crazed liberals, but most are. Have to be, how else could they keep it up.

But now the industry is leaving because it can, to avoid humongous real estate prices, state taxes, local taxes, traffic, etc.

And as it goes, the state collapses faster.

I find it hard to feel bad for those who choose to work for left wing film production companies, and are then let go because of bad business decisions by the said companies.
Adult Americans should be aware of the political ideology of their employers, and then decide to work, or not work for those companies that put left wing politics before employee job security.

Maybe nationalization is the answer. And pay them even more.

Then, with job security and no concerns about profits and losses, they could overtly make movies and promoting Obama, Obamacare, the UN, and the rest of the Democrat agenda.

Otherwise more and more of SC media workers are going to be freed from job lock. They can paint, study languages and music, bike, enjoy the community, and just be dandy people.

No one from True The Vote, the highest profile organization targeted by the IRS in the scandal involving improper scrutiny of conservative-leaning non-profits, has been interviewed by the FBI or investigators from the Department of Justice, according to the group’s President, Catherine Engelbrecht. This stunning revelation comes just days after Attorney General Eric Holder rebuffed the suggestion that an independent investigation is needed into the growing scandal. Holder told ABC News this weekend that a special investigation was unnecessary because “career people” and FBI agents were “doing a good, professional job” investigating the matter. Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
