Joe Biden Lurks Behind Every
U.S. Action on Ukraine

National Journal, by Marina Koren

Who says Joe Biden hasn´t got the right foreign policy chops? Well, former Defense secretary Robert Gates did, in January, when he wrote in his memoir that the vice president has been "wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades." But the criticism hasn´t slowed Biden down. For the past four months, the vice president has been Washington´s prime point of contact with Ukraine, quietly taking care of diplomatic maneuvering for the Obama administration stateside while Secretary of State John Kerry meets with European officials abroad. Between November and February, Biden spoke to now-ousted Ukrainian

At least we don´t have to worry about Obama leading, he is at the golf course or playing cards with Reggie Love.

The same writer goes after Palin´s remark about mom jeans, using it as yet another "war against women" issue.

No, Marina. He just looks dumb. And even you call those dumb jeans "mom jeans".

No one takes that as a criticism of mothers.

As for the National Journal, with former AP Obama supporter Ron Fournier at the helm, I cannot see that it will ever be fair and balanced. Nor will he, no matter how many times he appears on Fox News.

Joe is a plagiarist.
Joe falsely accused the driver of the truck that collided with his late wife of being drunk - when she might have caused the accident - he rode that lie into the Senate.
Joe lies about his humble beginnings - his wealthy father lost the money but Biden Inc has recouped it ten fold through his political connections.
Biden has been "wrong on every foreign policy" but never in doubt.
The dangerous fool is one heartbeat away from POTUS.
Ukraine will come apart. It was artificially constructed on the East and West - and left to languish since 1994 by both the EU and USA while Russia propped up its government with energy and loans.
The Eastern Ukraine and Crimea are dominated by ethnic Russians and will return to Russia.
Western Ukraine may elect to return to Poland and Rumania.
Kosovo was the international precedent.
Both China and Russia protested -but Clinton and Bush proceeded to give Kosovo-part of Christian Serbia since 1350 to tunic Muslim Albanians.
Blowback writ large!

As much as I dislike Biden, he appears to have been correct on two issues:

1. Dividing Iraq into 3 parts: Kurd; Shitie; Sunni. While we gallantly fought to create a free & unified Iraq, Obama abandoned this effort in 2011 for his reelection. Now, Iraq is tearing itself into 3 parts, something that Biden proposed in order to oppose Bush.

2. Biden opposed Obama´s surge in Afghanistan and the 60,000+ troops it required. Biden argued for a limited troop presence. Obama is now abandoning the Afghans after almost 2,000 US soldiers died and 10,000 were grievously wounded in the Obama "surge to nowhere". Again, Biden was right but for the wrong reason: he believed drones and special ops could defeat the Taliban.

As to the Ukraine, Biden is surely counseling Obama to avoid military conflict and seek compromise. Since Obama would surely abandon our military campaign after the 2014 election, I hope Biden wins the argument.

ORLANDO, Fla. — It´s something most of most students learn in elementary school -- the United States is made up of 50 states and the District of Columbia. But Channel 9´s Justin Gray found out it´s a lesson that an Orlando agent with the Transportation Safety Administration seems to have missed. Gray, who lives in Washington, D.C., was flying out of Orlando International Airport when a TSA agent said Gray´s District of Columbia driver´s license wasn´t a valid form of identification. Gray said his license is legal and up-to-date, but the TSA agent didn´t seem to know what the District of

As the conflict between Israel and Hamas escalates, attention is focused on those individuals whose heroism is very much in the public eye: the parents of the three boys who were kidnapped and murdered, who lifted up the nation through their stoic courage and generosity of spirit; the air force pilots who are currently in the forefront and the intelligence agents who assist them in selecting targets; and the men and women who defied the skeptics to design the Iron Dome system that has been remarkably effective in protecting Israelis from rockets and missiles Palestinian terror groups are raining down

I took a look back at the current crisis of illegal Central American minors in the Weekly Standard article “Disorder at the border,” published in this past Friday in the new issue of the magazine. In retrospect, I think that the events of the preceding days fixed these issues in the public mind and culminated in President Obama’s notable address following his meeting in Dallas with Governor Perry. Obama had resisted the meeting with Perry, as he resisted visiting the border along the Rio Grande. In Dallas and Austin for big-buck fundraisers with his conspicuously wealthy friends, Obama was ultimately shamed

Conventional wisdom is clear that the next Congress has a considerable likelihood of being a Republican Congress. That same consensus also holds that if the GOP does indeed take control, the next two years will be marked by confrontation with the White House and even less actual legislative action than the present Congress has accomplished. To be fair, there is some compelling logic behind these conclusions. President Obama has clearly opted out of the role of governing through legislation. He has become the most defensive president since at least World War II, blaming the Congress not just for all the ills of the

When former CalPERS CEO Fred Buenrostro was charged more than a year ago by both federal and state officials with fraud and obstruction of justice charges, something didn’t seem right. The allegations focused on how Buenrostro had forged documents to help placement agent pal Alfred Villalobos get paid by some of his private equity clients, but there was no mention of Buenrostro personally benefiting (beyond a $300k per year job with Villalobos upon retirement from CalPERS). Not was there any evidence that Buenrostro improperly influenced investment decisions at CalPERS.

Dementia rates also are down in Germany, a study there found. "For an individual, the actual risk of dementia seems to have declined," probably due to more

Many have parsed what President Barack Obama’s critics mean when they charge that the handling of the crisis on America’s southern border is “Obama’s Katrina.” The president’s supporters are quick to note that this comparison is misleading and unfair. Hurricane Katrina drowned an entire urban center. American citizens died waiting for federal and state aid. Thousands of Americans, mostly of meager means, were trapped in a dying city. Some of them did not make it out alive waiting for their countrymen to save them. In that sobering moment, much of the promise of the United States was betrayed. It is

Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
