Revealed: Obama’s ‘attack’
on Medicare Part D

Daily Caller, by Patrick Howley

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/23/2014 9:43:06 PM

The Obama administration is launching an “attack” on the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D programs as part of Obamacare that will result in higher costs and fewer health care options for seniors, according to a U.S. House subcommittee. The administration is quietly introducing “policies that would undermine the integrity and success of the Medicare Part D program” according to the subcommittee. President Bush signed Medicare Part D into law in 2003 to subsidize prescription drug costs for Medicare beneficiaries. The Daily Caller has learned that the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing Feb.

Comments:
Add this to the extremely long list of lies told by 0bama. I distinctly remember him saying Medicare would not be affected by 0bamacare. So what else is new. I´m so sick of lying political hacks.

Getting older folks to turn against the AARP is really an uphill climb, they really believe in them, not realizing they´re a big pat of Obama´s propaganda machine.I´ve seen their magazine covers in Drs.´offices and it´s enough to get you to hurl plutonium bullets.

Right now it´s really hard for anyone, even experts to quantify all the collateral damage Obamacare is and will do to medicine in this country.A big revolt by seniors would go a long ways to taking back all 3 branches of government.

Tricare for Life (retired military) is also flexing muscle, denying a medication prescribed for my asthma. This pill would have reduced nasal drip and opened bronchial tubes. A pencil pusher wrote a letter to my doctor suggesting a nebulizer as a substitute. That does not address the nasal drip. So, evidently the pencil pusher is now treating me?

Seniors are a huge drag on the cost of health care. Therefore, the herd must be culled. This is one way to produce the results they need. Everything about this law will reduce the quality of care. No one is going to be untouched by this monstrosity except our dear leader, his fellow government cronies and his favored groups. They will be just fine and receive the best care. The rest of us, not so much. Thank you John Roberts for making the case for Obama. Evidently, your concern for "your Court´s reputation" most certainly outweighed Obama´s outright assault on the Constitution. You out-witted no one. You enabled Obama and your reputation is cemented in history forever. You failed the American people.

In with my cookbooks I have an old copy of Culpeper´s Complete Herbal. I´ve never read it but kept it because I liked its quaintness and the fairly well-preserved old cover. I just might need it--can see me growing my own aspirin (feverfew plant) before long.

I see bibliomania.com has a free copy online. But you might want to buy a book copy--and a modern herbal--before they´re all banned.

http://www.bibliomania.com/2/1/66/113/frameset.html

My grandmothers and mother all used lots of herbal treatments when I was a child; many were prescribed by doctors. Aspirin was still a wonder drug and antibiotics had yet to become commonly available. Such preparations were not all life-savers, certainly, but might become useful. You might want to research "physic garden." Rodale Press might have a good book on the subject.

I can´t believe I´m typing this. What have we come to?

If you take expensive drugs, #4, Medicare Part D is very helpful even with the donut hole. Last year my husband and I would have spent $15,000 each on drugs without it. With it, we spent about $5,000 each.

And they don´t necessarily deny brand name drugs. A few of our drugs are generic, but during enrollment every year, I check to be sure all of our drugs will be covered during the upcoming year. If any of them aren´t covered, I switch to a company that has them on its formulary. I have had to change my company every year. My husband, who takes a completely different set of Rx drugs, has been able to keep his.

I now have an answer as to what is happening to my and my husband´s Medicare and Part D Plan. Last week hubby picked up a refill of a med he has taken for years and had been paying $40.00 a month for years. It is now $85.00 a month. As for me, I just received a bill from my OBGYN which I immediately called about and was told that for this yearly check-up I must pay for every other year and the one that worries me most is that I now can only have an echo cardiogram every 2 years to check a leak due to having a mitro valve prolapse. I realize this is very small in comparison to cancer patients, but it tells me that very slowly hoping we won´t notice, we are getting the rug pulled out from under us.

There are 3 parts of Medicare Advantage that Obama despises: first it is administered by private companies and secondly that it is contract for care not pay for service and third it nominally costs the fed bean counters more per patient.

The reason Medicare Advantage has grown is because it is a service contract for the year. Your doctor can´t decide he isn´t seeing Medicare patients after March 1 because Congress hasn´t passed the latest Doc Fix. This is crucial rural areas with limited doctors. The contract for care means that the monthly payment can be the same every month, regardless whether you are get sick or injured one month. Low income seniors need this feature.

The enticement used to create this program years ago was that program would get a little more than the average cost per senior in the conventional Medicare program. That would pay for the administration. Should the overall cost per senior over the group result in lower cost, the savings would be split with the government. For that premium, the insurance group take full ownership of fraud prevention. Obama has always looked at that incentive and claimed he would save that money. With conventional Medicare, they claim administrative fees of only 5% but don´t mention that fraud is around 20%.

Follow the money! 75% of ALL medical expenses occur in the last 9 months of the person´s life. It´s in Obama´s best interests if people shuffle off this mortal coil and do it a bit quicker. The $$ saved will be billions ... if not trillions. It´s all about "helping" oldsters out the window just a little quicker.

#25 .. the rumor is Justice Roberts illegally adopted his two kids, Jack & Josie, from Ireland but claimed they came from another country as it is very hard to get Irish kids. Obama knew and had one of his minions threaten to expose the facts, leading to not only a resignation but potential lose of his children. He made his choice -- and it wasn´t against his kids. Only a rumor though.

#4, Part D is certainly much better than nothing. And there are dozens of plans to choose from to meet your specific needs in your specific area. Plus there are plans that cover the donut hole which, by the way, only about 20% of the people enrolled in Part D plans, ever reach (the donut hole limit). So, as bad as the donut hole sounds, it only affects one fifth of the enrollees. As an aside: I take Coumadin (generic Warfarin) and don´t charge it to my insurance because Walmart (and many other pharmacies) sell it for $10 for a 90 day supply directly to the customer. If you go through your insurance company your copay is higher than that and you´re burning up your benefits--which is stupid. That is true for many other commonly used drugs.

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? But for a moment, Hillary Rodham Clinton, appearing recently before a friendly audience at a women’s forum in Manhattan, seemed flustered.(Snip)So…no definitive successes and some clear-cut failures. And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. In reality, this is a woman who is professionally defined almost entirely by two men in her life, both of whom happen to have

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations
