What a day. The city of Kiev barely went to sleep last night, and, walking around the scorched Maidan, you could see that the day´s agreement had brought not peace, but a ceasefire. (Snip) Things moved fast today—Yanukovich denying his resignation; the security forces switching sides; the parliament ousting him and setting new elections; his political allies, and perhaps Yanukovich himself, fleeing the country; members of his party in parliament fleeing the party; his jailed political rival Yulia Tymoshenko being popped out of a prison hospital and boarding a plane for Kiev—but it all moved peacefully, joyously, and seemingly in

Shockingly, this left wing source has published absolutely the best analytical piece on the Ukraine situation that I have seen.

I have colleagues and business projects in multiple cities in Ukraine and this article is dead accurate, should be a must read.

Those who forget history are condemned to wtie stupid articles about it. The revolution in Ukraine has just begun. Media types are willfully ignorant of the gazprom cash flows enjoyed by Russia by way of Ukranian pipelines. Our billions of dollars to ´democratize´ Ukraine also work to stop the gazprom cash flow from gas sales to Europe. Couple that with our marriage to the moslem brotherhood, the Arab Spring in Egypt and our destruction of Liby and Syria - the non paranoide casula observer would see the Ukraine events as the first volley in a war of the Christian east versus the Moselm west.

Yes, overall a very accurate article, but it still misses the most important aspect of what is happening there. As I pointed out yesterday, it isn´t just that the eastern part of the country is "Russian-speaking," it is in fact heavily Russian. During the USSR days, the Russians systematically seeded their republics with native Russians, both as bureaucrats and military. When the USSR dissolved, most remained behind, intermarried and raised families. They retained their native Russian language, culture, and allegiance.

This is true not only in Ukraine, but also in many if not most of the former republics. They are in reality part Russian.

So the likelihood is that this situation is irreconcilable. The yearning for freedom from Russia in the west will likely be met with calls for Russia to help in the east. And tomorrow, once the Putin Games are over, the tanks may roll.

This is a very dangerous situation. And not just in Ukraine.

Communism in the headlines! This is the last thing our communist slanted press and Steve Pelley TV media want, to have to deal with.

Pulling off Obama´s Soviet medical commune requires that American citizens NOT liken ObamaCommuKare
with the death grip of Russian Soviet Communism.

So, this Ukrainian anti communist uprising is the last thing our communist tainted newspapers, network and cable television stations want to have to discuss.

Like Hollywood, our press/media does not even want to use the word, communism, in the news. They do not want the peasants relating Washington´s stealth communism to the real abortive communist history in totalitarian dominated Russia,

So, like all the cell phone Iranian anti Muslim heroic protestors several years ago, this Eukrainian ouster is a freedom fighting example for Americans to follow and support. It is so exciting and freedom demanding that Obama and all his Puglosi Reid Jaret Soros Feinstein Schumer Biden commie hacks, and his RINO booster Rubio McCain Boehner Cantor turncoats, will all keep their collective mouths SHUT.
They are so frightened to be exposed in their totalitarian dogma, that only honest Americans can speak up in support of the Eukraine anti-communist uprising.

As I posted yesterday - - don´t get your hopes up.

The commie methods in situations like this are well known. Lull the opponents into a sense of security - - then send the troops in at 3am.

We´ve seen it over and over again - - in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Beijing. This is what commies do - - who they are. So - - don´t be surprised if the army divisions aren´t already being prepared to roll.

It´s not over yet.

The worst thing about this situation is Russia has a common border with the Ukraine and there isn´t any resolution to the problem that we could enforce.

With Chuck Hagel, Obama and Kerry threatening them, the Russians are probably laughing themselves silly. I don´t think a drone is going to have much effect on the Russian army.

I don´t remember, was the Ukraine one of those areas that Churchill gave Stalin in a secret meeting during WW2 that FDR knew nothing about before the war was over. FDR had a fit when he heard about the meeting later.

Ukrainians are no strangers to savagery. Some of the most vicious fighting in WWII happened in the battles for and around Kiev. I don´t think they plan to just lie down and let Russian tanks roll over them. A major component of Ukrainian nationalism is hatred of Russia.

Too, one doubts the Russians have that many operational tanks ready to go or the support systems necessary to keep them functional. If Putin´s response does turn out to be tanks, expect a build-up period of maybe a couple months as the logistics systems are established.

Given our egotistical, feckless president´s penchant for doing the worst possible thing, he may try to get attention by drawing another of his famous red lines in Ukraine. Putin of course will laugh in his face and Kerry will be rushing all over Eastern Europe trying to link peace in Ukraine with peace in Palestine.

A tragedy acted out by 2d rate comedians. Serbia II. With all the implications, all ignored.

FTA: "Hordes of Kievans poured into Yanukovich´s abandoned palace outside the city, to find what their tax money had built: monogrammed golf clubs and steam rooms, a garage full of vintage cars, peacocks, fake Roman ruins, a boxing ring, a mini-galleon, and, of course, karaoke."

Which makes me wonder: what does Putin´s palace contain? One poster here referred to the "yearning for freedom from Russia." But perhaps that is not exactly correct. The Ukrainians may think the enemy is Russia, but perhaps the enemy is not Russia but those who rule both ountries. Perhaps the Russian people in Moscow should demand a look inside Putin´s digs. Perhaps Ukrainians and Russians together, allied, could rid both their countries of TWO tyrants.

Washington - A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld the Environmental Protection Agency’s emission standards for hazardous air pollutants from coal- and oil-fired power plants. In its ruling, the court rejected state and industry challenges to rules designed to clean up mercury, lead, arsenic and other dangerous air pollutants. The new regulations were designed to remove toxins from the air that contribute to respiratory illnesses, birth defects and developmental problems in children. Some industry groups have criticized the standards, saying the EPA was overstating the benefits. Industry groups argued it would cost billions of

Guantanamo Bay Navy Base, Cuba - A military judge abruptly recessed the first 9/11 trial hearing of the year Monday after defense lawyers accused the FBI in open court of trying to turn a defense team security officer into a secret informant. If true, the lawyers argued, attorney-client confidentiality might be compromised in the case that seeks to put on trial and execute five men accused of orchestrating the Sept. 11 attacks that killed 3,000 people in New York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon. At issue, in part, was the publication in January of prison camp musings by the alleged 9/11 mastermind, Khalid Sheik Mohammed,

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
