Court: Notre Dame must adhere to
ObamaCare birth control mandate

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Tim Devaney

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/22/2014 1:04:01 PM

The University of Notre Dame must provide birth control to employees and students after a federal appeals court ruled Friday, a move the school says will force it to violate its religious beliefs. In a blow to religious colleges and universities across the country, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago denied Notre Dame´s request for an injunction to the ObamaCare birth control mandate that requires the school to provide coverage for contraception. The injunction would have given Notre Dame a temporary reprieve from the birth control mandate, as the Roman Catholic school challenges the rule in court.

Comments:
Sadly you can´t miss the irony that Notre Dame had the audacity to invite 0bama for their commencement address and give him an honorary degree. I will never, ever understand that. The fable about a scorpion and a frog comes to mind.

The church was a big supporter of barry, without the catholic vote barry would not have been elected. Like the blacks and the jews who automatically vote for them, they think catholics are stupid and that they can get away with treating you like dirt.
Sorry catholics, you get no sympathy from me. Live with it.

You all wrongly presume that Notre Dame University is a Catholic institute of higher learning.
It isn´t, and has not been for many years--except perhaps in name only.
Traditional and conservative Catholics did not vote for Obama, by the way. Any more than all Protestants voted for Obama because the UCC did.

If I were making decisions for Notre Dame, I would ignore the judge´s ruling and invite him to have me arrested for contempt. At some point, you have to obey God rather than man and take a stand for what is morally right.

Of the 2,000+ professors & teaching staff at ND, I believe that only 53 supported the Universitiy´s efforts to protect its 1st Amendment rights against Obama´s dictatorship. Since ND´s "progressives" worship Obama far more than Christ, let them suffer them the consequences.

May be time for ND to replace the image of Jesus Christ on its library with Touch Down Barry.

Smart Judges knew whatever they ruled would go to the SCOTUS. So, they ruled against Religion which made their liberal friends happy. However, this ruling means the lawsuit will move forward.

In 90% of these suites - the court finds the petitioner does not have standing. That finding stops the appeal process dead.

Marco Rubio is beefing up his political action committee, making significant high-level changes to it and his senatorial staff. The changes are intensifying speculation that Rubio – who many thought that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney would pick to be his vice president in 2102 – is preparing the terrain for the 2016 presidential race. Publicly, Rubio, a Florida Republican, has said he has not yet decided whether to aim for the White House in two years, or whether he’ll seek re-election to the Senate. His announcement, on his website, suggested he might be looking at running in 2016, but stopped short of

A recent survey of 148 insurance brokers shows that ObamaCare is sending premiums rising at the fastest clip in decades. "For the last, about, five years they´ve been doing this survey, so this was the largest percentage increase in any quarter since they´ve been doing (it)," says Scott Gottlieb of the American Enterprise Institute. "But at 12 percent, 11 percent increase on average across all the states -- that puts it at the upper end of any increase we´ve seen for decades." That is the national average in a survey done by Morgan Stanley. But in some states, it found rates are soaring. "There are specific states with exorbitant increases," says Gottlieb.

4 We told you a few weeks back that the Obama Administration was prepared to take an astonishing step of surrender, even for this crew, in giving up control of the Internet’s domain name system. That would threaten the Internet’s independence as it would create an opportunity for regimes far less friendly to freedom to step in and gain power and influence. Well, this idea was so horrendous that even Bill Clinton, in addition to 35 Republican senators, spoke up and told the administration not to do it, as well as a great many other voices. Guess what.
