One Fund donations to pay for admin costs
Boston Herald, by Chris Cassidy

Original Article

The $150,000-a-year salary of the new executive director of One Fund Boston will be paid out of the charity’s own budget — marking a significant shift from the organization’s beginnings, when every dollar donated went directly to victims’ families and survivors of the marathon bombings. “The mission of the fund has not changed,” said One Fund spokeswoman Dot Joyce. “It continues to grow and with that growth comes some administrative cost. And those decisions were made by the board in consultation with the survivor community and what’s best in meeting their needs going forward.” Joyce could not say how much money is

Comments:
So, instead of shutting down after the initial awards to victims, a "conscious decision" has been made to make the charity "long-term". Any donors see a problem with this?

Ah yes, MA, the home of libtards. We should all have guessed that they would use another charity to enrich themselves. Don´t donate another penny. Let the libtards donate. Oh wait, they don´t. They like to use everybody else´s money.

Ah yes...the beginning of another pork barrel to fund the Board´s pet projects now that they have "taken care of" of those pesky victims and their families!!

These good intentions have now been co-opted to please the political agendas of the Board.

Don´t contribute another dime until there is full printed disclosure as to the "new" mission and specific projects to be supported plus all salaries and admin costs are documented.

The surprises start right at the top of the NCAA tournament bracket: Virginia is a No. 1 seed. They keep going throughout the matchups. Last year´s national champion, Louisville, was seeded fourth in the Midwest despite playing well enough to be considered a No. 1 by many. And speaking of that Midwest region - Wichita State and Michigan are there, as well, making it three of last year´s Final Four participants all vying for one spot this year. SMU, the team led on a renaissance by coaching lifer Larry Brown - nowhere to be found. And Michigan State, the team that geared

U.S. Navy SEALs have taken control of a commercial tanker that had been seized by three armed Libyans earlier this month. No one was hurt in the Sunday night operation, the Pentagon said. The tanker, Morning Glory, is carrying oil owned by Libya´s National Oil Company. It sailed last week from the rebel-held port of As-Sidra in the nation´s east. Libyan forces fired on the vessel but were called off by the U.S. Navy, fearing an environmental disaster. The situation remains unsettled in the North African nation, which the government is struggling to control more than two years after the ouster of longtime Libyan

Pilot Suicide a Taboo Topic

Canberra, Australia - As police investigate the two pilots of a Malaysian passenger jet that disappeared more than a week ago, a possibility they must consider — however remote and improbable — is that one of them committed suicide — and mass murder in the process. While such incidents have happened before, the topic remains almost taboo, with investigators and officials reluctant to conclude that a pilot purposely crashed a plane in order to commit suicide even when the evidence appears compelling. A dozen years ago, U.S. investigators filed a final report into the 1999 crash of EgyptAir Flight 990,

Former Alaska governor and failed vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be launching something called “Rogue TV,” a digital video channel on Tapp, the platform piloted by former CNN executive Jon Klein and former NBC Universal’s Jeff Gaspin. The news comes from Capital New York’s Alex Weprin. Of what will “Rogue TV” consist? Well, it sounds like an extension of Palin’s work for Fox News channel, where she is a contributor. There’ll be video commentaries on current events and politics, reports Weprin. “Think of it as a video version of her Facebook page,” a source tells him. There’ll also be

An Oberlin College professor has filed a lawsuit because, she claims, another professor on the Oberlin faculty has harassed her and created a hostile work environment for female employees for years. The plaintiff is Eunjung An, professor of French and cinema studies at the smallish liberal arts school about 35 miles southeast of Cleveland, Ohio, reports The Morning Journal News. An alleges that comparative literature professor Ali Yedes informed an unnamed Oberlin employee last year that he had helped his nephew obtain a student visa to the United States expressly to “stab and kill someone from his department.”

SIMFEROPOL, CRIMEA — No one has any idea what President Vladimir Putin will do after Crimea votes on Sunday to join Russia. But if bankers and diplomats from New York to London are sleeping fitfully, worried whether Russia’s about to launch World War Three, you can only imagine what´s going through the mind of Adavye Osmanova, a 79-year-old Tatar woman in the Crimean capital of Simferopol. She had worn her best dress to meet me—black with gold stitching—but she looked drawn and exhausted. Putin has said he is obliged to defend the Russian-speakers of Crimea from the new government in Kiev,

While we wring our hands over whether we have any options in preventing Crimea from being slowly — but almost surely — sucked into the Russian sphere of influence for good, the fact is that the Kremlin clearly thought it could get away with it. Why? Weakness. There’s no doubt that Russian President Vladimir Putin long ago sized up President Obama, including his world view, his interest in international affairs and his style of foreign policy–and from that made an assessment. It’s also fair to say that the Kremlin probably concluded from this ongoing internal estimate of the White House over the past

By now it’s settled on most people, including Democrats, that the loss of Alex Sink to David Jolly in Florida’s 13th Congressional District was, in the words of the New York Times, “devastating” to Democrats. It’s a district Ms. Sink carried in her unsuccessful race for governor against Rick Scott, a district that Barack Obama carried in his two elections, and a district that demographically now favors Democrats. In addition, Ms. Sink raised more money and ran a better campaign than Jolly. Even Bill Clinton lent his efforts to her campaign. And yet she lost. What should particularly alarm Democrats is

Last week, the U.S. Tenth Circuit decided a case that should reverberate on Capitol Hill. In Kerr v. The three-judge panel — consisting of Carter and Clinton appointees — ruled in favor of the legislators’ standing. This decision should embolden members of Congress who correctly believe that President Obama has encroached upon Congress’ constitutional authority. Indeed, Congress should do no less in defending its authority than the five Colorado state legislators.
