GE Will No Longer Design Projects
to Please Climate Change Advocates

Breitbart´s Big Government, by William Bigelow

Original Article

In a watershed moment and a huge victory over environmentalists, General Electric has agreed to stop projects that are designed solely for the purpose of carbon dioxide reductions to please those who lobby for climate change concessions. The National Center for Public Policy Research, a non-partisan, free-market, independent conservative think-tank which has been fighting GE for years because of GE’s liberal bias under CEO Jeffrey Immelt, scored a huge victory after receiving the commitment from General Electric. Late in 2013, the National Center submitted a shareholder proposal as part of GE´s 2014 proxy statement and annual meeting materials. The proposal: ...request[ed] that the

Wow. This is really a hugh change for GE. How soon before Immelt gets a call from 0bama for this huge change in policy?

I also hope a certain moonbat with whom I had a screaming fight about this issue last year is daily bombarded by Charles K, the WSJ, and now GE. Ha!

Yep, #14. We don´t buy GE either. Crony capitalism is feeding government corruption. It is government by and for the biggest donors. What I don´t understand is why these guys at the top of these corporations who are supposed to be so darn smart fall for junk science whose data has proven to be doctored. Hey, big shot. Think for yourself. This is not high school. Approval of ones peers is not the be all and end all. Show some courage and maturity. Just because Obama says the science is settled does not make it so. Educate yourself. Don´t be a lemming.

GE, that guy who owns the shirt company, and other big money guys saw the handwriting on the wall and placed huge bets on American socialism (read "crony capitalism") and all the associated crackpot causes. They´re not stupid, and all have extremely acute financial survival instincts. With Obamacare crumbling, it seems those same instincts are now telling some of them that it´s time to begin unwinding those positions.

I guess there a lot of folks out there like me who refuse to buy GE products (especially their light bulbs). I refused to buy a new, energy efficient washer that only filled the machine with 1/4 of the washer capacity. I bought the old fashioned kind that still fills to MY needs and still has a agitator in the center. I refuse to give in to the energy efficient crowd ideas that do not meet MY expectations on cleanliness. I also refuse to try to read by the light of their nasty blue light squiggly bulbs! I guess time will tell if the young generation will go along on these things, but my generation isn´t likely to roll over and let the Immelts of the world stomp on us!

The important thing here is that a major corporation has decided that they can safely turn away from Climate Change orthodoxy. The Alarmists and their supporters are so weak that cannot force people to comply any longer.

In reality, this was an easy decision for GE to make. The officers of public companies are required, by law, to protect and develop shareholder equity, i.e. maximize income for shareholders. Everything else is secondary.

All GE did is say it would comply with its corporate fiduciary duty. It did close the backdoor to Immelt´s games. But the biggest thing is that it said that reason and law will be respected over unsubstantiated panic and PC. That´s a sea change.

At my house, we don´t even consider purchasing anything made by GE.

This whole Climate Change scare is exactly that - a scare tactic. First it was global warming, but Mother Nature didn´t cooperate with that crowd, and now she has produced some of the coldest weather in years. The Great Lakes are completely frozen over as well as the Straits of Mackinac. One could walk over to Mackinac Island if they wanted to brave the cold.

The global warming crowd have been embarrassed over the last decade by some very cold weather. Since the public wasn´t buying it, they changed the name to climate change hoping that enough lo-fos will buy into it. Of course natural events like gravitational pull, sun spots, shifting trade winds, etc are too complex for many people to understand; thus, climate change (which it does all the time regardless of how many people there are) seemed just the right ruse.

What has happened at GE is a perfect analogy for what has happened to our country.

GE went from having the great patriot and freedom-lover - - Ronald Reagan - - as its spokesman - - to commie-loving, 0bama-suckup Jeff Immelt.

If they boot Immelt - - that will be a refreshing sign that progress is still GE´s most important product.

What a slap in the face to the global warming crowd when one of the president´s most favorite crony capitalists rejects their agenda. They have to take that as an indication that they´re being moved down the line behind other advocacy groups like illegal aliens, unions, gays, blacks, other minorities, abortion advocates and maybe even gun control advocates. I mean, crony capitalists don´t make such moves without permission.

To be truthful, it´s fascism, not crony capitalism.

Corporate power, making privileged, lobbied, Congress bribed deals, in exchange for Congress also gaining more power over all business, is by classic definition,
FASCISM. Legendary economists Von Mises and Hayek, described this phenomena years ago, showing it
first in Mussolini´s Italian dictatorship in the 1920´s, and then in Hitler´s German socialist dictatorship in the 1940´s. Our President, Franklin D Roosevelt, admired the absolute power that fascism provided to these two dictators, so he started his own fascist power trip in the depression. That´s how corporate, Congress bribed mad power got its start in America, and believe it, once
any business, large or small, lobbies for special privileges available to nobody else, IT IS NO LONGER
CAPITALISM, crony or otherwise.

Capitalism, in honest practice, is still open, free market exchange in an open market place, still the mechanism that works beat and made the biggest, best parts of America the best country in the world.

Silicon Valley, the pride of America and the world, is the perfect example of an industry that did not go to Washington for exotic, special favors! In fact, these computer geniuses have IGNORED THE FASCIST SEEKING CONGRESS IN WASHINGTON ! And have built the most amazing business in modern history !

Capitalism WORKS ! Fascism succeeds, but it always creates imbalance and

This was all in the cards for GE.

During the first Oblamo administration Jeff Immelt was a lap dog for Obama and played along with all the "green" non-sense, even running commercials showing how they love Mother Nature. They sided with the administration that oil and gas were BAD. They showcased their bird chopper business (wind energy) and other idiotic "green" ventures, while petroleum stocks were getting hammered through fear of regulation by the Fed b-tards. Yet, while all that was going on, GE went on a buying spree for anything petroleum. They bought up a huge operation (Hydrill) in Houston and some other things when the prices were low. Now we find out they´re "bullish" on petroleum! Cue up the Gomer Pyle...

Recently built a house which came with top of the line GE appliances. Dishwasher wasn´t cleaning dishes so had a repairman out. He has been working for GE 20+ years.
He explained the cause - GE was now making
the dishwasher with shorter cycles - wash, rinse, dry and not heating the water nearly as much. Also he said the ingredient in the
detergent which cleaned dishes had been removed. Said all of the above were to please environmental groups and solution was to buy a separate product to add to the regular detergent, run the hot water for a long time before turning on and then hope for the best because most people were still not happy with the results.

Boycots don´t mean much when a company falls into bed with foreign interests.
The board meetings hint that anti-immelt-anti OBAMA board members finally collected enough small investor´s proxys to hand the CEO his backside.
Or GE is so deep with China they are not afraid they will have to pay billions in suddenly discovered unpaid taxes.
It could also mean GE may see the fall of Obe coming before 2016 and are bailing out now.

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

Holder Jr. Mr. Holder has refused to cooperate with the House GOP’s probe into the Fast & Furious gun-walking operation, and the House has voted to find him in contempt. Mr. Holder is challenging that vote in court. Rep. Blake Farenthold, a Texas Republican who publicly excoriated Mr. Holder at a hearing last week, introduced the legislation just before Congress went on vacation,

The White House on Tuesday downplayed the controversy over media access to President Obama, who will hold a moment of silence to mark the Boston Marathon bombing anniversary in the Oval Office without the press. The president and aides will observe the anniversary of the deadly attack behind closed doors at 2:29 p.m., exactly one year after two pressure cookers packed with shrapnel detonated near the finish line of the raise. “The president´s going to have a moment of silence in the Oval Office. There will be some senior advisers there,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney, adding that the tribute

PETA is urging first lady Michelle Obama to substitute fake eggs for the 19,000 real ones to be used in Monday´s Easter Egg Roll, claiming that egg production is cruel and eating them unhealthy and a violation of her “Let´s Move!” agenda. "For chickens on egg factory farms, Easter is not a time of renewal or joy. It can take up to 34 hours in typically hellish conditions for a hen to produce just one of the thousands of eggs slated to be used at the Easter Egg Roll. Furthermore, encouraging the consumption of cruelly sourced, unhealthy eggs is inconsistent

The husband of a Democratic lawmaker has pled guilty to Social Security fraud and other crimes. Henry A. Fellela Jr., the husband of Rhode Island Democratic state Rep. Deborah A. Fellela, pled guilty last week to illegally collecting more than $58,000 in Social Security benefits, according to local reports. Fellela pled guilty to five counts on charges of aggravated identity theft, credit card fraud, Social Security fraud and theft of government funds. This was not Fellela’s first brush with the law. In 1999, he first applied for Supplemental Social Security benefits — the benefits were ultimately terminated when he was

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Chelsea Clinton says when people ask her these days whether she wants to go into politics, her answer isn’t an automatic “no.” The 34-year-old former first daughter told Fast Company in an interview published Monday, “for so long the answer was just a visceral no. Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no." Now, the only child of former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explains, "I live in a city and a state and a country where I

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of
