Jimmy Fallon, Democrat Political Asset
Newsbusters, by Brent Bozell and Tim Graham

Original Article

The Obamas have had few more obsequious media allies than NBC´s Jimmy Fallon. Now that he´s taking over the hallowed ground of "The Tonight Show," Fallon´s proven ability to spread his reach into viral videos on YouTube promises to become even more politically potent. Fallon´s Obama-friendly sketches and interviews have become immediate "news" grist for the Comcast corps at NBC and MSNBC. The same sensation happens when Fallon is ripping into a Republican. Just as NBC and MSNBC were tearing Gov. Chris Christie apart over "Bridgegate," Fallon joined this political crusade by bringing on liberal rock star Bruce Springsteen for a jokey

The entertainment industry is lousy with Democrats, always has been, always will be. Even the sainted Johnny Carson, eight years retired, is known to have been e-mailing Al Gore jokes for campaign appearances in 2000. (The only problem was that Gore himself had to recite them.) I was disappointed to learn this, but never suspected Johnny to be an on-the-sly Reagan type. By far, Johnny was the greatest at what he did.

Carson´s successor Leno has been the only late night host who has been watchable for me. And Jay, though probably not right of center in his politics, did spread his humor across a wider portion of the political spectrum than the caustic, no longer funny, kneejerk leftist Letterman. Fallon didn´t make much of an impression on me when he did SNL. When he´s on there are better things to do.

I have never understood the fun in watching The Tonight Show since Johnny retired. Basically, it´s just a long commercial with Hollywood hawking their latest junk. I thought it was embarrassing watching Leno suck up to these actors, asking every one basically the same questions. Yeah, everyone on the set loved each other, yeah I loved working with so-and-so and the worst? Dem politicians being slobbered over and Pubbies being politely tolerated. Everyone pretending to be genuine. The reason it worked with Carson is that he was so clever, so naturally funny that you forgot you were basically watching a Hollywood version of QVC.

Fox should put Leno opposite him and watch Leno whip him in the ratings.

Media and particularly cable news has never been as polarized as it is today. It’s also never been tilted more towards opinion and less toward objective reporting of hard news. As a result, trust in media has fallen to an all-time low. Reporters in particular are looked upon as dishonest brokers in the business, with Gallup showing only 20 percent of those polled finding journalists honest and ethical (that’s 65 percent lower than nurses, 50 percent lower than doctors and engineers). Solid investigative reporters are simply in short supply and demand. Why? Because with opinion programming so much cheaper to produce

The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent.
