Michelle Obama: ´Young people
are knuckleheads´

Washington Examiner, by Charlie Spiering

Original Article

Posted By:garnet, 2/21/2014 8:27:08 AM

On the "Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon, First Lady Michelle Obama explained that it was more important than ever for young people older than 26 to sign up for health insurance. "A lot of young people think they´re invincible, but the truth is young people are knuckleheads," she laughed, pointing out that they often cut themselves while cooking or injure themselves by dancing on bar stools. Obama added that thanks to Obamacare, coverage for young people was much cheaper. "Now young people can get insurance for as little as $50 a month, less than the cost of gym shoes,"

Who buys a new pair of "gym shoes" every month? Don´t you just love how this pair of highly educated intellectuals use terms like "folks" and "knuckleheads"? It really makes them such great examples of higher education. When I first saw the video of her mouthing off about who "Barack and me" really are, etc., I knew exactly what she was.

They can´t sell this $#!@+ pie, but they keep trying. Next they´re going to try to ram it down our throats. I keep wondering what it will take to make people say "enough". They have to know that that "line" is going to be crossed soon, else why new ammo purchases?

Imagine (if you can) a Republican first lady making such a condescending, dismissive, and overly generalized statement about any group - the young, the old, the black, the white - you name it. The press would never let it go! Of course, Republican first ladies are just that - ladies, and ladies with class and restraint. Picture Mamie, Pat Nixon, Nancy, and the two Bush wives. Contrast that with Hillary and Michelle. Lady Bird and Jackie, where are you when we need you?

No, The Obamacare Debate

American Spectator, by David Catron    Original Article

Last Tuesday, our President swaggered into the Rose Garden to announce that 7.1 million people have signed up for health coverage through Obamacare’s exchanges and that all further argument about the future of his “signature domestic achievement” was pointless: “The debate over repealing this law is over. The Affordable Care Act is here to stay.” The problem with this claim is that no one with a basic grasp of arithmetic believes Obama’s enrollment figures, only about a quarter of the electorate supports his “reform” law, and it is still the target of multiple lawsuits challenging its constitutionality.

A new survey reveals that public esteem for Obamacare is continuing to plummet, hitting yet another historic low. (snip) The AP survey shows that a mere “26 percent of Americans support the Affordable Care Act.” (snip) When the law was passed, 39 percent of the public supported it. But the President, along with his accomplices in Congress and the media, assured us that this percentage would rise once “reform” was implemented. In other words, Obama and his minions are no better at prognostication than they are at managing websites, insurance exchanges or anything else relating to health care.

One of the reasons Clarence Thomas gives for the studious silence he maintains during Supreme Court hearings is that his fellow justices have shown an increasing tendency to talk too much during oral arguments, thus preventing advocates from presenting their arguments coherently. Yesterday’s Supreme Court hearing in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores and Conestoga Wood Specialties v. Sebelius suggest that Thomas is right. Paul D. Clement, who appeared on behalf of the two companies challenging the Obamacare contraception mandate, was repeatedly interrupted and badgered by justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Ginsburg.

The most febrile of George W. Bush haters liked to claim during his tenure that the former president "scared" them. There is far more reason to be frightened by President Barack Obama, because fecklessness and inconstancy trigger wars. The outstanding example of weakness inviting aggression was the conduct of the democracies toward Adolf Hitler in the 1930s. Though it has been retroactively tainted as shameful cowardice, the policy of appeasement grew out of a "war weariness" that was far more understandable than our own. Britain and France suffered millions of dead and wounded in World War I and were desperate to

In a remarkable post yesterday, Moulitsas, founder and publisher of the progressive community site DailyKos, celebrates the departure from the Senate of 10 moderate Democrats over the last decade, and makes clear his hope that Senators Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) and Mary Landrieu (D-La.) lose their tough reelection battles this year. Obamacare turns four this Sunday, and it´s never looked worse. For months, the news has not been kind. A broken promise, a broken website. Lost plans, lost doctors. Rising prices, rising frustration. Shrinking paychecks, a shrinking workforce. Unsecure data, insecure Democrats. The few Democrats willing to talk about Obamacare publicly struggle to defend the law on merits. The House Oversight Committee´s investigation of the IRS is at an inflection point. The president´s congressional supporters realize that the administration´s version of the agency´s targeting of conservative nonprofits seeking tax-exempt status—such as blaming local officials in the Cincinnati office or claiming that liberal groups were victimized along with conservative groups—is nonsense. Instead of debating the substance, they have resorted to procedural antics and misleading rhetoric.
