US ranks low in first-ever global
index of LGBT inclusion in armed forces

Guardian [UK], by Ed Pilkington

Original Article

The enduring ban on transgender individuals serving in the US military has earned America a low ranking in the first global league table of LGBT inclusion in the armed forces. The US is placed at number 40 in the table of 103 countries’ armed forces as measured by their inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender service members. That puts it behind the militaries of countries such as Chile, Georgia and even America’s bête noire, Cuba. The US armed forces in September 2011 repealed the controversial policy of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, which forced gay service members to hide their sexuality.

It may be time for an LGBT draft.

As recently as this past September, Charlie Rangel was talking about restarting the draft:

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) on Sunday renewed his call to reinstate the draft, arguing a vote should be held on mandatory military service before any decision is taken to launch strikes against Syria.

“I truly believe we should have a National Draft Act before the Congress acts,” Rangel told MSNBC.

And when the adults take back control of the Federal Government, the "gayafaction" of MY Military will be terminated and those who "came out" can go back. Also, physical standards will be reinstated and ANYONE who can meet them can be in the infantry. Don´t really care what soldiers do in their off time, and neither should you. There are enough behavior/disciplinary rules for proper behavior. Many gay people have served with honor and their orientation was *not* an issue.

Let´s not confuse some poeple having issues with others being gay with using any sexual orientation (straight or gay) to measure combat effectiveness and readiness of troops.

Virtually all of the gays you ever knew who served in our military did so in the Reserves.

Active duty service is a bit different than standing around primping and flirting in the barracks ~ and as much as Obama and Biden imagine that to be a great life, it is entirely possible most of the LGBT crowd dont´ agree.

Nashville, Tenn. — The State Attorney General says Tennessee can lawfully use the electric chair on death row inmates if drugs used for lethal injection are not available. Attorney General Bob Cooper´s written legal opinion was issued this week as state lawmakers consider a bill that would allow condemned prisoners to be electrocuted if lethal injection is thwarted by big drug companies or the courts. The move comes against the backdrop of a European-led boycott on sales of sedatives to American prisons and legal challenges to drugs made by compounding pharmacies. Tennessee has not executed a prisoner since 2009. Part of

A cyber espionage operation by China seven years ago produced sensitive technology and aircraft secrets that were incorporated into the latest version of China’s new J-20 stealth fighter jet, according to U.S. officials and private defense analysts. The Chinese cyber spying against the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II took place in 2007 under what U.S. intelligence agencies codenamed Operation Byzantine Hades, a large-scale, multi-year cyber program that targeted governments and industry. Defense officials said the stolen data was obtained by a Chinese military unit called a Technical Reconnaissance Bureau in the Chengdu province. The data was then

Sobering facts about women’s declining fertility after their 20s are being withheld from ambitious young women, who are propelled along a career track devised for men. The refusal by public schools’ sex-education programs to acknowledge gender differences is betraying both boys and girls. The genders should be separated for sex counseling. It is absurd to avoid the harsh reality that boys have less to lose from casual serial sex than do girls, who risk pregnancy and whose future fertility can be compromised by disease.
