White House to sniff out newsrooms:
‘Troubling and dangerous development’

Washington Times, by Cheryl K. Chumley

The Obama administration is pushing forward with a Federal Communications Commission project that would send the nose of government researchers in newsrooms across the country — and First Amendment advocates want to know why. The touted purpose of the plan is to “identify and understand the critical information needs of the American public, with special emphasis on vulnerable-disadvantaged populations,” the FCC said, Fox News reported. But at least one FCC commissioner, Ajit Pai, wrote an op-ed piece for the Wall Street Journal that suggested the notion was more aimed at giving government entities the ability to “grill reporters, editors and

Government gets to deal with news downstream, after it´s fully produced and published.

Anything else is Tyranny.

The power of the press is demonstrated by how much it bugs government. For them to try to insert "minders" or "political commissars" -- what else would you call it? -- demonstrates just how much it matters to them.

Tyranny. Resist at all costs. Sic Semper Tyrannis.

"Vulnerable-disadvantage populations" is Obama speak for blacks and illegals. TV, radio and newspapers are not to mention race or legal status of suspected criminals and will be discouraged from showing photos and videos of the perp.

Crimes involving knock out games and other black on white assaults are to be minimized. Crimes by illegals, including rape, murder and DWIs are to also be minimized.

News sources will be strongly encouraged to report on efforts to clean up rivers and streams, on poor people finally seeing a doctor/hospital thanks to ObamaCare and on how young and young can find various government assistance programs.

Lois Lerner will surely be brought out of retirement to be the WH News Czar to reward her loyalty to Obama.

~~Among the questions to be studied: How news organizations select stories, and frequency with which broadcast outlets report on “critical information needs,” Fox News reported.~~

How?... and how frequent? Un-believable!...and...

~~“Participation is voluntary — in theory,” he wrote, in his op-ed to the Wall Street Journal. “[But] the FCC’s queries may be hard for the broadcasters to ignore. They would be out of business without an FCC license.”~~

Wonder if MSNBC will be ´sniffed´ out? Rather doubt it.

I work at a community paper with a liberal editor(although not a nasty one, and he is a strong second amendment supporter), and I wonder if this will be the thing that gets that Obama sticker off his car. Personally, I think he keeps it there to taunt the conservative owners of the paper.

Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. As vice president, Biden has been a loyal supporter of the Obama administration’s health-care reform law. Secretary

Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs.
