Exclusive: Mega-donors
plan GOP war council

Politico, by Alexander Burns & Kenneth P. Vogel

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/19/2014 8:47:26 PM

A group of major GOP donors, led by New York billionaire Paul Singer, is quietly expanding its political footprint ahead of the midterm elections in an increasingly assertive effort to shape the direction of the Republican Party. The operation was launched discreetly last year, with the previously unreported formation of a club called the American Opportunity Alliance to bring together some of the richest pro-business GOP donors in the country, several of whom share Singer’s support for gay rights, immigration reform and the state of Israel. Around the same time, Singer and his allies also formed a federal fundraising committee called

Comments:
And just who is the "war" against?? This is really discouraging. Singer is a supporter of "gay rights and immigration reform." The closed-door event — is expected to draw John Boehner and Kelly Ayotte. It looks like this war council is going to be against the Tea Party and conservatives.

Cue up Joel Gray in "Caberet" singing the Kander and Ebb song "Money Makes the World Go Round." Mr. Singer sounds about as Republican as George Soros.

The link below gives more information on the American Opportunity Alliance and he says conservatives should pay attention to them and be wary of them. They will push for social liberalism in the GOP.

The war council is Politico´s term.
The PAC wants to be a clearinghouse , so to speak ,
of mega GOP donors, so they effectively donate to candidates and don´t overlap.
It´s about Republicans taking back the Senate .
Members also include " conventional fiscal conservatives like brokerage titan Charles Schwab and real estate developer Harlan Crow."
The Tea Party is never mentioned nor inferred in the article, everything doesn´t have to
be about the Tea Party.
Having said that , the three Senate candidates the PAC is presently supporting are Congressman Tom Cotton
of Arkansas ,
Dan Sullivan of Alaska and Steve Daines of Montana .
All pro Tea Party.

I understand my buddy and former employer Chuck supporting gay rights, but not immigration reform in the form of amnesty. He´s a good man but I think he is smarter than to support amnesty for illegals. But maybe he´s changed since the old days. This Singer guy sounds like a "progressive".

In 2012 the mega-donors in the GOP spent over three hundred million and their candidates did worse than the Tea Party backed candidates. IOW this is nothing new, and their success or lack of it, is nothing to brag about.
Just keep focused on electing small government conservatives in 2014.

So, we have mega donors who want to use money to influence the election. Their planks of immigration reform and gay rights seem chosen to support President Obama. And President Obama always claims to have Israel´s back just before throwing them under the bus. The candidates going to their council have previously been known to support liberal planks in return for money and political support. This will certainly not help Republicans in their primary campaigns. If they were smart they would shelve it for another month.

More evidence as to why conservative attempts to "recapture" the GOP face stiff resistance from the elites. Not only do the elites have deep pockets, they are well-entrenched.

That is why I have sadly given up on the GOP and have concluded that a new party is our "least bad" option.

OK looks like the US Chamber of Crony Capitalists is stepping in and taking over. Kind of like Somali Pirates taking over the Maersk Alabama and holding Capt. Phillips and crew hostage. I am still undecided on this bunch. Since Boehner and Ayotte are going, it´s probably a Repstablishment power play to squash the Tea Party. I want to see what Mark Levin has to say about all of this.

FTA: “…the American Opportunity Alliance brings together some of the richest pro-business GOP donors in the country, several of whom share Singer’s support for gay rights, immigration reform and the state of Israel.”

And the difference between the Republican Party old guard and Democrat Party is?

FTA: “Friends for American Majority raised big checks for a select list of the GOP’s most highly touted 2014 Senate hopefuls. (snip) American Opportunity Alliance is more donor-centric, focusing on comparing notes about one another’s political projects (snip) anchored by a famously prolific Republican bundler with a distinct ideological agenda.”

A distinct ideological agenda that is diametrically opposed to the U.S. Constitution and the true general welfare of the republic. These are the financiers of the old guard attack against the base they have used and abused for decades. Thank God for the Koch brothers, but they cannot do it alone.

Got TEA?

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

Even though the number of illegal immigrants who have been deported through the courts has dropped by 43% since President Barack Obama took office, the Obama administration may enact administrative changes to allow bond hearings for detained illegal immigrants. According to the Los Angeles Times, this could result in "several thousand" illegal immigrants being released from jails and "could slow the pace of deportations" even more. It’s pitiful that we’ve reached this point, but Obama’s account of this chat really is more credible than Cantor’s. O’s position on immigration is straightforward: He wants amnesty badly, partly for legacy reasons and partly because he’s understandably keen to legalize a few million future Democratic voters, and he’s hoping the GOP will go along so that he doesn’t have to do something risky like an executive moratorium on deportations. The GOP leadership’s position is anything but straightforward. They’re convinced that they need to pass some sort of immigration bill before 2016 or else Latinos will hand the White House

Climate change’s latest casualty appears to be fish — or more specifically, fish brains — as researchers say the carbon dioxide that’s being absorbed into the ocean is causing the scaly creatures to lose their survival instincts. In other words, the fish are losing their minds, The Daily Mail reported. The acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide seeps into sea waters, dissolves and ultimately lowers the pH balance, researchers said. The acidic waters then hamper the fishes’ sensory systems, so they’re not able to distinguish between smells any longer, the scientists went on. When the acid levels get really high, the fish lose their
