Legal Cash-Only Pot Sellers

They come in the middle of the night. Breaking through doors, heads and faces covered to hide from surveillance cameras. Sometimes, they bring guns. Amid Colorado´s booming legal recreational and medical marijuana trade, thieves are busting into shops and grow facilities looking for cash, sometimes running out with pot plants worth thousands of dollars. Kristi Kelly, owner of GoodMeds Marijuana Dispensary, was hit three times by burglars taking advantage of an industry that is drowning in cash. Legalizing pot has many unintended consequences. This is just one of them. Mexican cartels invading the state is another. We´ll find others as the industry matures.

Already some in Colorado are realizing (too late of course) that legal pot isn´t all butterflies, rainbows and unicorns.

For those holier than thou saying on various threads that druggies get what they deserve... What drugs are you on? Lipitor? Remicade? Imuran? Etc.
I was on the last two for over 10 years. The side effects of those "safe" drugs are horrific and can kill. They wrecked my body and mind. Last year I went on organic, medical marijuana, a powerful anti-inflammatory. I take 1-2 puffs, yes puffs, as in little puffs a night before bed and I am off all pharmaceutical drugs now. Also google green leaf therapy. You basically juice raw MJ plants and the effects on healing the body of disease are near miraculous. With raw MJ leaves there is no "high" whatsoever.
Also google the ground breaking work Israel is doing with it.
Time to stop blindly accepting what drug companies are throwing at you and research non-toxic, real, organic solutions.
Pharmaceutical drugs are poison to the body. "Side effects" are either the body desperately trying to get the toxins out, or disease and death created by the "safe, legal" drug whose poison overwhelmed your body.
Also google "healing naturally by bee"
Educate yourselves.

Also, for the record, i am a very conservative libertarian, constitutionalist, a gun-owning member of the NRA, a tea partier, and a patriot. I voted against recreational pot in CO. I also think there should be a two drink limit in every bar/restaurant. Alcohol, and the effect it has on the body and mind (violent drunks for one), should have its limits as well, at least in public. And much harsher laws re drinking and driving, and domestic abuse involving alcohol.

Great story #3.
Here´s mine:
At 17 my kid brother tried MJ and really liked it. He liked it so much he decided to try hallucenogenics, like LSD. From there he ended up in a series of mental institutions.
Eventually he hung himself.
Maybe MJ works for you...but it sure as hell doesn´t work for everyone.

Some people become addicted to alcohol, but it´s legal because we recognize that the experiment with outlawing it was a failure. Someday we will come to the same realization about marijuana prohibition.

Indian Ocean poses daunting challenge

The southern Indian Ocean, where investigators suspect missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 may have come down, is one place where a commercial airliner can crash without a ship spotting it, a radar plotting it or even a satellite picking it up. The empty expanse of water is one of the most remote places in the world and also one of the deepest, posing potentially enormous challenges for the international search effort now refocusing on the area, one of several possible crash sites. Even Australia, which has island territories in the Indian Ocean and sends rescue planes to pluck stricken yachtsmen

Obamacare enrollment push glosses

At Obamacare enrollment events around the state, recruitment organizers emphasize the positive reasons for buying coverage on the insurance marketplace, like staying healthy and getting financial assistance to help pay their monthly premiums. But there’s also the punitive side of the law: how much those who don’t enroll will have to pay at tax time next year. The deadline to enroll is coming fast — March 31 — and many people don’t realize they could be paying far more than the $95 flat fee talked about in the early days of the law, according to enrollment counselors, income tax preparation

The long war over

As Americans have been learning in recent weeks, Russia sometimes has its own way of describing events—like when Vladimir Putin claimed on March 4, despite the presence of Russian troops on the ground, that he hadn’t invaded the Crimean region of east Ukraine. Then there’s the narrative about what is spoken in that invaded country: namely, the Ukrainian language. (Snip) The claim that Ukrainian isn’t a language has been one of the drumbeats of the Russian-Ukrainian relationship for centuries. It’s true that the distinction between a language and a dialect is notoriously slippery, often more about politics than mutual intelligibility

MOSCOW — With a referendum on secession looming in Crimea, Russia massed troops and armored vehicles in at least three regions along Ukraine’s eastern border on Thursday, alarming the interim Ukraine government about a possible invasion and significantly escalating tensions in the crisis between the Kremlin and the West. The announcement of the troop buildup by Russia’s Defense Ministry was met with an unusually sharp rebuke from Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, who warned that the Russian government must abandon what she called the politics of the 19th and 20th centuries or face diplomatic and economic retaliation from a

Republicans won a nice victory in the Florida special congressional election yesterday, which the more gullible and/or excitable pundits are already overhyping. Amid intensifying confusion and occasionally contradictory statements, the country´s civil aviation authorities and the military both said the plane may have turned back from its last known position between Malaysian and Vietnam, possibly as far as the Strait of Malacca, a busy shipping lane on the western side of Malaysia. Campaigners say the politician, the key challenger to Malaysia’s ruling party, was the victim of a long-running smear campaign and had faced trumped-up charges. By now it’s settled on most people, including Democrats, that the loss of Alex Sink to David Jolly in Florida’s 13th Congressional District was, in the words of the New York Times, “devastating” to Democrats. It’s a district Ms. Sink carried in her unsuccessful race for governor against Rick Scott, a district that Barack Obama carried in his two elections, and a district that demographically now favors Democrats.
