EXCLUSIVE: National clown
shortage may be approaching,
trade organizations fear

New York Daily News, by Natalie Musumeci

Original Article

Posted By:mitzi, 2/17/2014 11:48:21 AM

Send in the clowns — please! As the “Greatest Show on Earth” returns to Brooklyn Thursday, circus folk fear a national clown shortage is on the horizon. Membership at the country’s largest trade organizations for the jokesters has plunged over the past decade as declining interest, old age and higher standards among employers align against Krusty, Bozo and their crimson-nosed colleagues. “What’s happening is attrition,” said Clowns of America International President Glen Kohlberger, who added that membership at the Florida-based organization has plummeted since 2006. “The older clowns are passing away.”

Comments:
If all goes according to plan, come 2014 elections - there may be a whole new crop of clowns available for circus employment.

See...If we implement term limits, this would no longer be a problem.

Constant Replenishment and Procurement Program (CRAPP for short) is the answer here. More government money is always the answer.

Last year at a rodeo one clown wore an Obama mask, much to the delight of the crowd. After the uproar the clown was banned from working in at least one state. The IRS will also probably want to inspect his tax returns. Thou mustn´t laugh at King Barry.

While the horror show involving Brendan Eich, Proposition 8, and Mozilla was reaching its ignominious crescendo, I was in Milan, Italy, speaking before an energized crowd of activists in the Lombardy region’s county hall. Unaware of the witch hunt carried out by McCarthy’s rainbow-brandishing gay great-grandsons in Silicon Valley, a middle-aged man came forward and cried out in Italian, “Is it just me, or is the gay lobby imposing a dictatorship on us with their so-called scientific experts?” The science to which he referred wasn’t JavaScript, but rather psychology and pediatrics. Apparently the internet giant has been getting a lot of negative reaction to its jettisoning of Eich for his contribution in support of California’s Proposition 8 back in 2008. Google executive Jacquelline Fuller has resigned in protest from the board of international poverty ministry World Vision amid a growing call for her departure after the group’s decision to reinstate its policy excluding gay Christians from becoming missionaries. World Vision had announced last month that its American branch would begin hiring people in same-sex unions who dedicate their lives to God. Just two days later, the group reversed the decision under pressure from evangelical leaders. “The board acknowledged it made a mistake and chose to revert to our longstanding policy requiring sexual abstinence for all single employees and

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls.
