CAMBRIDGE, Md. — Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. bemoaned the state of the Republican Party on Friday morning as he delivered a pep talk for House Democrats struggling to maintain optimism heading into the midterm elections. “There isn’t a Republican Party,” Biden said. “I wish there were. I wish there was a Republican Party you could sit across the table from, make a deal, make a compromise and know when you got up from the table it could be done.” While Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel shared “cold, hard realism” with his colleagues on Thursday regarding the

Bide me, Joe.
There isn´t a Democrat party anymore, for sure.
It has evolved into a Stalinesque version of a socialist party, complete with a ruling class, corruption, and thuggery

The dem´s never let the Republicans be a part of 0bamacare, and thank goodness, the dem´s should take all the blame, as this bill is a disaster. Harry Reid is a ditz.

There has been no Republican party for many years in my metropolitan area of over half a million. One of our members donated a property for use as a party headquarters, but there wasn´t enough money to keep the lights on. There has been no serious Republican candidate for any office in this county for several decades.

It is a sad day when I have to agree with Joe Biden.

Same basically true in WA state, #13. With rampant voter fraud, socialists and unions running all of Western WA, there really is no point in supporting the state R apparatus. It´s a waste of $$. The Dems seem to allow the Republicans to exist but that would stop if they ever showed a spine. Biden is right on that part, sad to say.

The democrat party (we´ve learned to spell it exactly right!!! Annoys the heck out of the PC words we may use folks) should be the party that is rejected even by the lo fo voters.

As the GOP position and speak with vehemence the hope for the GOP for the future and as the voice of the middle class who have made us strong, the democrats have already lost their parties soul IMO.

Democrats and their communist left is destroying the country AND our position in th world--fundamentally changing it and all who aren´t retiring in disgust are nattering about doing more to us. Loose lips Joe.

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

Rory Reid, the son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, echoed his father’s comments on the battle between the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying the latter “should be prosecuted.” The younger Reid, a lawyer and Democratic politician who failed to win the Nevada governorship in 2010, made the remarks during a Monday interview on an NBC political talk show aired in Las Vegas. The New York Police Department has abandoned a secretive program that dispatched plainclothes detectives into Muslim neighborhoods to eavesdrop on conversations and built detailed files on where people ate, prayed and shopped, the department said. The decision by the nation’s largest police force to shutter the surveillance program represents the first sign that William J. Bratton, the department’s new commissioner, is backing away from some of the post-9/11 intelligence-gathering practices of his predecessor. The move comes as the federal government reconsiders and re-evaluates some of its post-9/11 policies, including the National Security Agency’s bulk data collection.

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. A fascinating article by Francis Wilkinson appeared in Bloomberg View last week (h/t Instapundit). Wilkinson detailed the fact that income inequality between whites and blacks is worse in leftist cities: Minneapolis-St. Paul. San Francisco. Chicago. Even Madison, Wisconsin. If you are politically liberal and value relatively high levels of income equality, you might live in one of these quintessentially liberal U.S. cities. Yet all four lurk in the bottom half of the 2014 National Urban League’s State of Black America report on income inequality between blacks and whites. Among the many places where black-white income is less skewed are Phoenix, Arizona,

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Some time back, whenever a big racial controversy erupted, I trained myself into the habit of reading about it at FoxNews.com, just for the unbelievable comment threads. Let’s put it this way: If my friends and I went out to a bar and started playing a “let’s write the racist FoxNews.com comment thread” drinking game, our efforts couldn’t begin to approach what I read there.I wasn’t alone. Liberal websites started feasting on these threads. And so, a couple of years ago, Ailes & Co. got wise. Stories about race were, at least in my disheartened experience, closed to comments.
