Monica Lewinsky, Reconsidered
Politico, by Liz Mundy

Original Article

Like it or not, we’re having a national flashback to the 1990s—replete with images of thong underwear near the Oval Office, semen-stained blue dresses and all manner of sordid details we thought we’d outgrown. These nostalgic tidbits come to us courtesy of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, the possible 2016 presidential contender who, anticipating a matchup against Hillary Clinton, has lately been determined to remind America what happened the last time the Clintons occupied the White House. In a series of recent interviews, Paul has resurrected the Monica Lewinsky scandal, which first surfaced in sensational fashion in 1998, when the president

Like Larry King, lots of folks may have forgotten those remarkable years, and many have been born since who missed the adventure.

I´m fine with reminding the country of the sleazy mess of Bill Clinton in the White House and Of Miz Hillary´s just as sleazy co-dependency. But, Monica Lewinsky was young and naive and her life has been ruined. I hope we can just leave her alone.

The eight Clinton-Rodham years were rife with corruption, incompetence and scandal of all sorts. Lewinsky was just the cherry on top, so to speak.
What this piece and almost all of the media stories so far have been attempting to do is just focus on this Lewinsky thing and act ad though that´s all there was as far as scandal goes. Bill and Hillary are serial criminals and have a well documented rap sheet going all the way back to the 1970´s.
Hillary isn´t going to skate for all of what she has done by making us think her only controversy was being a victim of Bill and the blue dress bimbo.

in our infantile society her 21 was "young". Many of us have answered for our behaviour at that age, and should. I wish hesuffered the same treatment but that is another topic...hypocrisy of the political class and uninformed voters as well as "judge not" mores. Funny how its okay to judge her but not him.

Prez. BillyJeff used the power of his office to abuse and oppress people after he was sued for sexual harassment. Then he furthered that abuse of office by oppressing everyone who opposed him in any way. This was aided by a fawning press. Sound familiar? Anyone else remember the purple faced tirades PBJ used to get into?
BJ lied and people died.
Hilliary was complicit in every way, she was only there for the power.

When was the last time you saw in print that Bill Clinton was IMPEACHED? That little factoid has been swept under the rug completely. The left feels free to talk about Nixon´s impeachment but never mention Bill´s. I am pleased that Sen Paul feels free to bring up the unsavory facts about the Clinton years.

Bottom line:

Boss has sexual relationship with subordinate. Boss has other subordinates that he does not have a sexual relationship. Boss pulls strings to get the lucky subordinate a job that she was not qualified for (Revlon). Boss does not pull those same strings for those subordinates he is not engaged in a sexual relationship with. Boss has sexually harassed every subordinate, not just the lucky one. Saw this in my business experiences, when found out, the boss was fired the same day.

So, horror over sexual assault is something to be "outgrown"? Particularly if it takes place in the WH at the hands of the president? I´m always astounded at the way so called feminists will twist themselves into pretzels in order to defend the Rapist in Chief and his feminazi enabler. Every day, we are reminded by their actions that leftists are EVIL.

Hey Lizzy, Rand Paul never said the press paid no attention to Lewinski. He said it gave him a pass. And it did. I was around back then, too, and but for Matt Drudge no one would ever have known about it. The MSM didn´t get on the story until it could no longer be ignored.

Snarky little piece of writing here.

Reads like an explanation of why the popular kids (Dems) can do things that the dorks (Rep) can´t.

Nixon resigned but was not impeached. IIRC

The major media covered Billy Jeffs saga reluctantly while covering Nixon´s enthusiastically.

Imagine if Nixon had touched an intern !

They would still be talking about it.

Dear Liz,

The suggestion that the media gave Clinton a “pass” suggests that at the time this was happening, the libertarian ophthalmologist was perhaps too busy to read what was in the newspapers.

The media DID give both Bill and Hillary incredible passes. If I remember correctly, the media´s narrative was that 1.) Bill was being impeached because he had an affair not because he lied under oath and to Congress, and 2.) Ken Starr was evil and out of control. The other thing that the media did was NOT call Hillary out on all her "bimbo eruption" and "vast right-wing conspiracy" lies, but they instead assisted her with her election to the Senate, though she was in no way qualified.

Rand Paul is 100% right to do the media´s job and call the wanton lying and utter hypocrisy that is Bill and Hillary Clinton out at a time when the latter is running for the presidency and the Dems are all hot and bothered about a fairy tale titled "The GOP War on Women."

Liz is fixated on Clinton´s sex with a subordinate, but that is NOT why Clinton was impeached.

To remind her, Clinton lied under oath before Federal Judge Susan Weber Wright and disobeyed her discovery orders during lawful deposition.

Judge Wright held Clinton in Contempt of Court stating:

a. "the record demonstrates by clear and convincing evidence that the President responded to plaintiff´s questions by giving false, misleading and evasive answers that were designed to obstruct the judicial process.

b. “It is difficult to construe the President´s sworn statements in this civil lawsuit concerning his relationship with Ms. Lewinsky as anything other than a willful refusal to obey this Court´s discovery Orders.” … “Simply put, the President´s deposition testimony …was intentionally false, …notwithstanding tortured definitions and interpretations of the term ‘sexual relations.’”

c. “In sum, the record leaves no doubt that the President violated this Court´s discovery Orders regarding disclosure of information deemed by this Court to be relevant to plaintiff´s lawsuit.”

d. “the President´s contumacious conduct in this case, coming as it did from a member of the bar and the chief law enforcement officer of this Nation, was without justification and undermined the integrity of the judicial system.”

e. “...there simply is no escaping the fact that the President deliberately violated this Court´s discovery Orders and thereby undermined the integrity of the judicial system.”

Relative to Clinton’s actions:

a. He was forced to surrender his Arkansas law license to avoid being disbarred.

b. He was disbarred from the US Supreme Court bar.

c. He paid a $850,000 settlement to Paula Jones

d. He was impeached for these and other actions.

I guess Liz forgot the REAL issue was that ALL Americans must obey the law, including and ESPECIALLY a sitting president such as Bill Clinton.

Unfortunately, Monica will never be free of this but not because she had an adulterous relationship with Clinton in the a Oval Office. Monica may have been naive. However, she had to make a choice when all was revealed for the world to see. She was old enough to know right from wrong. She AND her parents chose to lie and protect Clinton. She did as the Democrats pushed her to do and it was the biggest mistake of her life. She was thrown away by them like a used Kleenex. Bill and Hill went on to riches and power. Monica was treated no better than Clinton´s other women. Paul is right to make this an issue again. Why? Because the libs and MSM have allowed their version to educate a generation of kids about what the impeachment was all about. It really is our duty to make sure the truth is told, unsavory as it may be.

When the Democrats and media want to use a phony "War on Women" against the GOP and, at the same time, swoon over Bill Clinton and his enabling, vicious wife, then it´s a great idea to remind everyone of Clinton´s misdeeds against women. They want to make it about Rand Paul, but he´s just the one who had the stones to bring it up.

The bottom line is that a misogynistic serial adulterer was viewed as a "protector" of women only because he favored expansive abortion rights. (Remember the women who said they´d be happy to do what Lewinsky had done if only Billy Jeff would keep fighting for abortion?) The big favor Clinton did for men, however--and for American jurisprudence in general--was to halt the devolution of sexual-harassment law to its reductio ad absurdum, where all a woman had to do was claim offense at something a man had done (no matter how innocuous the act was in an objective sense), and the man would essentially have no legal defense. By going to the wall for Clinton, feminists showed themselves to be completely unserious about sexual harassment. (I mean, if a disparity in authority is supposed to be enough to establish harassment in the case of an inter-office affair between a male boss and a female subordinate, how much more disparity could there be than between the president of the United States and a White House student intern?)

Here’s a thought for the day: Most people are “nice”, but Christians should be nice with a purpose. I am not a fan of the sitcom Rev, which depicts a vicar trying to be kind to his parishioners – with hilarious consequences. His congregation is small, full of delinquents, and the eponymous clergymen is often driven to drink by their unholy antics. Justin Welby disagrees with the show’s depiction of Anglican life because he notes that many churches are growing. The Rev’s, by contrast, conforms to a self-lacerating vision of Christianity as nice but niche. But self-laceration is the stock-in-trade of the

Louisiana Democratic Sen. The unspoken message of the ad -- something Landrieu could never say directly -- is that

The administration’s “smart diplomacy” does not include providing aid to those who fight internal oppression or outside aggression and whose victory potentially would obviate the need for direct U.S. action. Hence, President Obama gave Iran’s Green Revolution the cold shoulder in June 2009. He denied aid, and then dragged his feet on delivering aid to non-jihadi rebels in Syria. Now, it should come as no surprise, he is unwilling to provide Ukraine with military aid or intelligence to defend itself against Russian aggression.

Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports.
