From Russia With Euphemisms
Tribune Media Services, Inc., by Jonah Goldberg

Original Article

Posted By:HogPilot, 2/14/2014 7:01:18 AM

Hannah Arendt coined the term “the banality of evil” to describe the galling normalcy of Nazi mass-murderer Adolf Eichmann. Covering his trial in Jerusalem, she described Eichmann as less a cartoonish villain than a dull, remorseless, paper-pushing functionary just “doing his job.” The phrase “banality of evil” was instantly controversial, largely because it was misunderstood. Arendt was not trying to minimize Nazism’s evil but to capture its enormity. The staggering moral horror of the Holocaust was that it made complicity “normal.”

Comrade Putin would like to have a word with you; please report to Lubyanka Re-Education Facility, 1 Beria Street.

The Soviets and all Communist/totalitarian regimes are inherently evil, trying to make people bend in ways they can´t and squashing all dissent. We have a very fragile experiment in liberty here which is only one generation away from extinction [if not less].

"Imagine if instead of Sochi these games were in Germany, and suppose the organizers floated out the swastika while NBC talked of the “pivotal experiment” of Nazism. Imagine the controversy.

But when the hammer and sickle float by, there’s no outrage. There is only the evil of banality." Thank you so much, Mr. Goldberg. This really needs to be said and, given how blind so many are, said many many times.

Jonah has opened the door! Brilliant ! He has written in the popular press about the decades of Communist horrors from Lenin to Stalinist Soviet Gulag Archipelago
labor slavery until death, famine, 100 million deaths, and constant warring aggression against the free world.

All of which is a forbidden subject in Hollywood, where mass audiences are not permitted to see and learn about Marxist Soviet Communism, the ultimate evil.

No. Here in media, our well meaning Hannity, Coulter, Rush, Beck patriots give Communist attempts in America a cover up, and call it "liberalism" (liber, the word that means FREEDOM !). The Alynsky, Obama, Soros controls, are all silently communist sourced.

Hannah Arendt, Ayn Rand, Anne Applebaum, and many other great books can be found heroically researching the evils of Communism for the few who read books, while democrats and too many RINO republicans follow the red road, with the silenced help of our own press, TV and Hollywood film makers who make censored product for the masses who don´t read books.

Thank you, Jonah, for opening the popular press door
that describes the underlying sickness in America that is totalitarian central government control of our individual lives. The otherwise well meaning Rush, Beck, Levin, Steyn, all the Fox Hannitys, have been covering it up all too long !

Freeing Workers From the Insurance Trap
New York Times, by Editorial Staff    Original Article

The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Tuesday that the Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by 2.5 million over the next decade. That is mostly a good thing, a liberating result of the law. Of course, Republicans immediately tried to brand the findings as “devastating” and stark evidence of President Obama’s health care reform as a failure and a job killer. It is no such thing. (SNIP) The new law will free people, young and old, to pursue careers or retirement without having to worry about health coverage.

The advertising campaign, entitled “got insurance?,” was started by the nonprofit groups Colorado Consumer Health Initiative and ProgressNow Colorado Education, and has featured ads aimed at getting young people so sign up for health insurance:

Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. The Obama administration touted 7 million sign-ups by March 31 as “success.” When that goal appeared to be unreachable, the administration suggested that maybe 5 or 6 million would be enough. Now, as if by magic, they have their number. Somehow. All along, the administration has touted false numbers of enrollees. All along, the administration has neglected to admit that Obamacare is

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – President Obama compared the Republican budget plan to a "stinkburger" or "meanwich" during a speech here Wednesday, using a series of zingers in an attempt to strike a contrast with the GOP on economic issues in an election year. In a speech to an enthusiastic crowd of 1,400 at the University of Michigan, Obama repeatedly mocked Republican ideas about how to improve the economy, as he touted his own proposal to raise the minimum wage. Obama, who visited the local Zingerman´s deli before the speech, said that Republican proposals to cut taxes for wealthier Americans and

The North Carolina State Board of Elections has found thousands of instances of voter fraud in the state, thanks to a 28-state crosscheck of voter rolls. Initial findings suggest widespread election fraud. 765 voters with an exact match of first and last name, DOB and last four digits of SSN were registered in N.C. and another state and voted in N.C. and the other state in the 2012 general election. 35,750 voters with the same first and last name and DOB were registered in N.C. and another state and voted in both states in the 2012 general election. 155,692 voters

A triumphant President Barack Obama declared his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better.´ But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged Rose Garden appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night. Others were already insured, including millions who lost coverage when their existing policies were suddenly

Big changes could be just down the road for North Carolina drivers. A proposal is in the works that would change the state tax system to charge drivers by the mile, instead of at the gas pump. The proposal would be to charge a half cent per mile for cars, which would generate almost $500 million in annual state revenue. A driver who travelled 15,000 miles in a year would pay about $75. "Basically you pay per the mile. It´s treating transportation as a utility, much like your water and sewer," said Larry Goode, with the Institute of Transportation Research and

Sources on the ground in Benghazi during the 2012 terror attack are pushing back hard on former CIA acting director Mike Morell´s testimony on Capitol Hill, where he defended his role in shaping the administration´s narrative and claimed politics were not involved. As part of Morell´s testimony on Wednesday, the former acting and deputy CIA director acknowledged that he overruled the guidance of the top CIA officer in Libya at the time. That official told Morell the attack was not an "escalation of protests," but Morell said he had to weigh that against analysts who concluded the opposite. He ultimately went

With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
