Suspect Software
Washington Free Beacon, by Bill Gertz

Software developed in the former Soviet state of Belarus is part of networks used by U.S. medical and insurance companies that are now part of President Barack Obama’s health care reform program, according to a senior official of a government technology park in Minsk. However, Alexander Martinkevich, deputy director of Belarus’ High Technologies Park (HTP), said no Belarusian software companies took part in developing the Healthcare.gov system. “If we did, it would work from the first day of its launch,” Martinkevich said in an email. The comments by the Belarusian official contradict statements by Obama administration officials who have said

I see no reason to believe anyone quoted. Add to that translation difficulties and nuances. Plus interpretations by third or fourth parties.

He said, she said, he meant, she meant, did, didn´t, etc.

I doubt the health of individual American is of interest to Russia or its small ally.

The real power would be in learning how healthcare.gov can exchange data with other US agencies and selected companies. That would provide an ´Open Sesame´ command both to obtain their secrets and to foist fraudulent data upon them.

President Obama on Tuesday paid tribute to actor and director Harold Ramis, calling him one of “America´s greatest satirists.” Ramis, who was behind many of Hollywood´s biggest comedy hits, died on Monday at 69. “[First lady] Michelle [Obama] and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Harold Ramis, one of America’s greatest satirists, and like so many other comedic geniuses, a proud product of Chicago’s Second City,” said Obama in a written statement. “When we watched his movies — from ‘Animal House’ and ‘Caddyshack’ to ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘Groundhog Day’ — we didn’t just laugh until it hurt. First lady Michelle Obama on Tuesday called for the federal government to end the marketing of junk foods in schools, a proposal that would eliminate vending machines advertising soda and other promotional material for items not deemed healthy. “The idea here is simple — our classrooms should be healthy places where kids aren’t bombarded with ads for junk food,” the first lady said in an announcement. “Because when parents are working hard to teach their kids healthy habits at home, their work shouldn’t be undone by unhealthy messages at school.” The so-called school wellness policy crafted with the Department of Agriculture would

United Nations Amb. Samantha Power confused many foreign policy observers when she issued a series of tweets about the murdered journalist Daniel Pearl. “Daniel Pearl’s story is reminder that individual accountability & reconciliation are required to break cycles of violence,” Power wrote of the journalist who was beheaded by Khalid Shake Mohamed. (She later issued a correction.) On Monday, conservative radio host Laura Ingraham said that Power’s original sentiments were more reflective of her worldview. “Remember, Power comes from a long line of left wing activists who believe that America is really the problem in the world,” Ingraham insisted. “Her whole approach

South Carolina Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy lambasted National Security Adviser Susan Rice for her lack of regret over her incorrect statements on the 2012 Benghazi attacks, calling it “stunningly arrogant” and accusing her of continuing to peddle a “false narrative.” Gowdy spoke Monday with Fox News’ Greta van Susteren about Rice’s comments on “Meet the Press” Sunday, when she claimed she had “no regrets” for blaming the attacks on a disorganized mob upset about a video — not on well-trained Islamic terrorists. Rice blamed the misstatement on faulty intelligence. But Gowdy wasn’t buying it. “There is no evidence to support that false

Saying the political landscape will not be more conducive to amnesty legislation in two or four years, U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue wrote on Monday that immigration reform must happen now. Donohue has previously said that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce would "pull out all the stops" to get immigration reform this year. The group reportedly plans to spend $50 million to blunt the influence of the Tea Party, largely because it opposes amnesty, and millions more to push for immigration reform legislation that the Congressional Budget Office has said would lower the wages of American workers. President Bush signed Medicare Part D into law in 2003 to subsidize prescription drug costs for Medicare beneficiaries. There have been times when the CNN host Piers Morgan didn’t seem to like America very much — and American audiences have been more than willing to return the favor. Three years after taking over for Larry King, Mr. Morgan has seen the ratings for “Piers Morgan Live” hit some new lows, drawing a fraction of viewers compared with competitors at Fox News and MSNBC. The Obama administration warned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday not to react too aggressively to the fast-moving developments in Ukraine, where pro-Western demonstrators forced the nation’s Moscow-backed president from power over the weekend. National Security Adviser Susan E.
