House approves clean debt hike
The Hill (Washington DC), by Pete Kasperowicz

Original Article

The House passed a clean debt ceiling suspension on Tuesday — a vote that alienated dozens of Republicans and led some conservative groups to call for the removal of Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). The bill was approved in a 221-201 vote, largely on the back of Democrats. Only 28 Republicans voted for it, while 199 voted no. Every Democrat except two voted for the clean debt bill backed by the White House and Democratic leaders in the House and Senate. The two defections were Rep. Mike McIntyre (N.C.), who is not running for reelection, and Rep. John Barrow (Ga.), who

I think you could actually do a blood purge and end up with a majority n the House anyway (Not that I´m encouraging such a th ing)

My understanding was that the ´establishment pubbies ´ believed that the debt ceiling hike was a given (the government shutdown card seemed to be unplayable after last year´s PR fubar) but hoped that they could at least gain some spending cuts out of it. The ´true conservatives´ were unwilling to compromise so the GOP ended up with the debt hike but nothing else to show for it - that is, no spending cuts. I can´t really see how Boner could have played it differently.

That´s the way to win the 2014 midterms.

Debt ceiling at this time is just a distraction...
and a tool for O-Bomber and the MSM to bash the GOP.

Better to bash O-Bomber for KommieKare... and Benghazi... etc

What happened to the Hastert rule? Though, look, the Senate will not pass a bill with spending cuts or any other attachment. Then, what? All the news shows will blame the Republicans for forcing the govt to live within is income (no default is possible).

The conservative base MUST be realistic. Not voting for the GOP in November gets you complete Democrat control and they can pass Single Payer to fix Obamacare. If that is what you want, then, by all means, don´t vote. But DO NOT whine afterwards.

Time to face reality. The GOP elites will not effectively stand up to the Democrat juggernaut. They will, however, use all means necessary to block any attempt at a conservative takeover of their party. They will not permit another Ronald Reagan to rise through the ranks. Never again. The only vehicle left for effective opposition is a new party out of their grasp.

The GOP no longer qualifies as the lesser of two evils. As far as I am concerned, no other issue is more important than shutting off the government´s ability to make slaves of future generations. We who are here today can choose to be cowards, like Boehner´s GOP, and look the other way. But government borrowing is a crime where the victims have no recourse, no voice, no opportunity to fight for their lives. It´s worse than cowardice, worse than betrayal, worse than slavery. Those responsible will never face any consequence for their crimes because they will be dead. Government borrowing is as close as you will ever get to the perfect crime.

The Garden State has the country´s highest percentage of foreclosures among mortgaged homes -- and that´s just the beginning. Early this year, banking and real-estate analysts concluded that New Jersey had achieved a dubious distinction, passing Florida to become the state with the highest percentage of foreclosure among mortgaged homes, 6.2 percent as calculated by CoreLogic, a leader in real-estate analytics.
