This Awesome New Invention Could
Mean the Difference Between Life

Independent Journal Review, by Emily Hulsey

When a soldier gets shot on the battlefield, a medic often has to roll and pack strips of gauze deep into the wound. It is a painful, time-consuming and not always successful process. Fortunately, a company called RevMedx has come up with a solution called the XStat: (Snip for photo)The XStat is a syringe-like container that is filled with tiny sponges that are injected directly into the wound, where they expand to stop the bleeding within about 15 seconds. It is less painful, easier to administer and more absorbent than traditional gauze. It is inexpensive, at $100 per roll, and

Another way it could save lives in our military would be to cram this stuff down the throats of Obama, Reid, Pelosi and all the rest of them!

Here´s another "invention" that just might make a tiny difference: Repeal the [expletives deleted] "rules" of engagement that compel our troops to fight with both hands strapped behind their back.

FTA: It is inexpensive, at $100 per roll, and much easier to transport than bulky rolls of gauze.

But...The XStat is a syringe-like container...

So which is it...a roll or a syringe, or how much of a roll does it take to fill a syringe?

President Barack Obama is in a funk. Americans are coming to see the president as ineffectual. That is a dangerous perception. Obama’s job approval rating is at risk of dropping below 40 percent. Democrats may lose their majority in the Senate this fall. It may be difficult for the president to accomplish anything during his last two years. In the March NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll, 42 of registered voters say they would be less likely to vote for a candidate endorsed by Obama. Only 22 percent say they would be more likely to vote for Obama’s candidate. Why is this happening? Republicans

Barack Obama’s legacy legislation, the Affordable Healthcare Act (ACA) – commonly known as “Obamacare” – has clearly become the political equivalent of the wreck of the Hesperus. If there was any doubt remaining about that, it was all but removed by the administration’s recent decision to provide “hardship exemptions” to just about anyone who can work up the energy to apply for one – and its admitted inability to control the security of its own web portal. In case anyone forgets, Longfellow’s “The Wreck of the Hesperus” is the tragic story of a ship that floundered and sunk as the result

The story of the first-generation Ghanian-American student accepted by all eight Ivy league schools is wonderful, but it also stirs up the tension between black Americans and recent African immigrants — especially when you describe him as "not a typical African-American kid." That´s been the reaction to USA Today´s profile on Kwasi Enin, a Long Island high schooler who got into the nation´s most competitive schools through hard work and, according to IvyWise CEO Katherine Cohen, being African (and being male). At one point the piece reads: Being a first-generation American from Ghana also helps him stand out, Cohen says. "He´s

Nothing like a little gamer-occult-rape-cocaine imagery to keep Florida in contention for the Capitol of Weird. So thank you, Jake Rush. The Republican lawyer and former cop wants to topple tea party Congressman Ted Yoho. Rush´s first web ad shows him swearing on the Bible, wearing his old Alachua County Sheriff´s Office uniform and teaching kids about the U.S. Constitution. The images of him wearing black contact lenses while dressed in Dracula-like leather outfits? Not so much. But an anonymous emailer on March 23 began outing Ross as a member of a role-playing gamer-group called Mind´s Eye Society. Rush´s campaign responded hours later by saying

Why isn´t the Obama administration willing to finance the customs plaza for the new international bridge over the Detroit River between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario? That´s a question raised by this article in the Wall Street Journal. As the Journal notes, the government of Canada has agreed to pay, as part of a public-private partnership, about $3.65 billion for building the bridge, including a $550 million link with Interstate 75 in Detroit. The new bridge would provide an alternative for the privately owned Ambassador Bridge, which was opened in 1929. Yet the Obama administration isn´t ponying up $250 million to build

President Obama’s diplomacy by tourism has gone very sour. After being scolded by the Pope for Obamacare’s forcing religious institutions to provide contraception and abortion coverage, Obama jetted to Saudi Arabia where he was scolded by the Saudi king about his failure to send aid to the Syrians fighting Bashar Assad and his nuclear agreement with Iran. It’s getting tiresome. President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry are carrying on as if they have everything under control, every crisis has abated, and no one should be overly concerned. By now they must have noticed that every world leader disagrees with them.

Russian military drills near neighboring Finland have provoked concern that northern Europe may be the next focus of Moscow´s seemingly renewed appetite for redrawing its borders. Troops and jet fighters from all four military regions of Russia were deployed Sunday about 150 miles east of the Finnish border, according to the English-language newspaper Finnbay. The Russian defense ministry said in a statement that the exercises were pre-planned and that more than 50 fighter pilots took part. Finland was part of the Russian empire for 108 years, from 1809 until Russia’s withdrawal from World War I in 1917. The Karelia region,

WASHINGTON — Faced with a strong prospect of losing control of the Senate in November, Democrats have begun a high-stakes effort to try to overcome one of their party´s big weaknesses: voters who don´t show up for midterm elections. The party´s Senate campaign committee plans to spend $60 million to boost turnout. That´s nine times what it spent in the last midterm election, in 2010. The Democratic National Committee has begun to make the sophisticated data analysis tools developed to target voters in the 2012 presidential campaign available to all the party´s candidates. If you read Russian news and follow Internet debates, you´d think that Russia was on the verge of civil war if you didn´t know better. Like in other civil wars, the front line runs between colleagues, friends and even family members. The division is over the annexation of Crimea and attitudes toward Ukraine. "Old friends break off relations, children have stopped talking to their parents, and I´ve even heard about divorces. It is insane," the prominent psychologist Lyudmila Petranovskaya wrote on her LiveJournal blog. President Vladimir Putin set the aggressive tone of the debate in his Crimea speech two weeks ago

Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. The Obama administration touted 7 million sign-ups by March 31 as “success.” When that goal appeared to be unreachable, the administration suggested that maybe 5 or 6 million would be enough. Now, as if by magic, they have their number. Somehow. All along, the administration has touted false numbers of enrollees. All along, the administration has neglected to admit that Obamacare is

A few months back, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius stated for the record that 7 million Obamacare sign-ups by the end of March would constitute success. She was clear about it. But then February came, and February always stinks. It’s just a lousy month. You’re tired of winter, you’re still miles away from spring, and no one was signing up for Obamacare. That 7 million figure looked totally unreachable. So Sebelius does what every other member of the Obama administration does when confronted with inconvenient facts. She lied. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better.´ But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged Rose Garden appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night. Others were already insured, including millions who lost coverage when their existing policies were suddenly

A RAND study pours buckets of cold water on the Obama administration’s claims that it has nearly reached 7 million sign-ups for Obamacare. The whole point of Obamacare, supposedly, was to insure the uninsured and bend the cost curve down. Those who had insurance were supposed to be able to keep it. Families were supposed to start saving about $2500 a year. If you believed the Obama administration. Reality, according to RAND‘s study, is that the Obama administration’s 7 million figure is deceptive. Supposing 7 million have actually signed up and paid their first premium — which is not a given,

With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
