A fresh start for Hillary Clinton
and liberals?

Associated Press, by Ken Thomas

WASHINGTON— As Hillary Rodham Clinton mulls a second presidential bid, liberals are closely watching whether the onetime supporter of the Iraq war moves to the left or straddles the center. Democrats say economic issues such as raising the minimum wage and protecting Social Security have become paramount for anyone aiming to lead the party after years of tough economic times. During the 2008 primary campaign against Barack Obama, Clinton was hurt by her stand on the Iraq war while she was a senator. But she burnished her image among party loyalists during four years at the State Department in the

A fresh start for Hillary? I wouldn´t associate the word "fresh" with Hillary. She does not look good. She looks like a has been, tired, dumpy - not fresh. Who can forget the visuals of her etched in our minds as she represented US around the world with stringy unwashed hair while meeting world leaders? I don´t think the campaign for President would wear well with her at her present age and condition.

99 million not working, 144 million employed, but 119 million of those working are part time. (Bureau of Labor Statistics)

Now does that look like 6.6% unemployment? Oh, but what needs to be done is raise the minimum wage to give the unskilled a "living wage."

Riiiiiiight. Why not put a some tariffs on the crap being dumped on our markets Dump some of the oppressive EPA restrictions, etc and open the XL pipeling. Put some of our people back to work.

Oh, but that will raise prices, but if people are working they can afford the reasonable prices for good quality products when AMERICANS are making them!

There´s nothing fresh about Hillary. She an old, worn-out smelly shoe. Her image is not one of a sharp classy accomplished woman.
Women have better role models to emulate.

Her list of accomplishments is thin. In fact, Obama´s resume was better when he planned to run for President than her resume is now. She´s been carried to this position in life by her husband and the media.

Her tenure as Secretary of State will always be prefaced with the debacle in Benghazi. The rest of the time she served as SOS was lackluster. Obviously, she enjoyed the benefits of traveling the world that went with the job.
There´s not much there and to consider with this empty pantsuit and to think of her qualified to run this country is insane.

In another year, we´ll enter the first phase of the 2016 election, wherein the black community decides which Democrat gets their unitary vote. I have a hard time believing that will be Hillary, after the anti-black smear Obama did on her in 2008. After the blacks weigh in, the candidates unsupported by the black dems will be irresistibly tempted to run against Obama´s awful record and his anointed successor. Want to hear the truth about how bad things really are? Just wait until a Democrat stands to gain personally from telling you the truth, and it will come out.

President Obama on Friday said that Republicans were behind the biggest threat to voting rights in decades. “The principle of one person, one vote is the single greatest tool we have to redress an unjust status quo. You would think there would not be an argument about this anymore,” said Obama in an address to Rev. Al Sharpton´s National Action Network conference in New York City. “The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago,” he added. ORLAND, Calif.- It was a busload of opportunity: young, low-income, motivated students, destined to become the first in their families to go to college, journeying from the concrete sprawl of Los Angeles to a remote redwood campus 650 miles north. Those dreams shattered for some Thursday in an explosive freeway collision that left 10 dead - students, chaperones and both drivers - and dozens hospitalized. Desperate families awaited word about loved ones Friday, while investigators tried to figure out why a southbound FedEx big rig swerved across the grassy divide of California´s key artery before sideswiping a car and slamming into

President Reagan was holding a meeting in the Cabinet Room on March 25, 1985, when Press Secretary Larry Speakes came over to me, as communications director, with a concern. The White House was about to issue a statement on the killing of Major Arthur Nicholson, a U.S. army officer serving in East Germany. Maj. Nicholson had been shot in cold blood by a Russian soldier. Speakes thought the president´s statement, "This violence was unjustified," was weak. I agreed. We interrupted the president, who reread the statement, then said go ahead with it. A copy of Barack and Michelle Obama’s tax returns released Friday shows that the first couple gave only .3 percent of their income to their church in 2013. The Obamas made a total of $59,251 in charitable contributions in 2013 — 12.3 percent of their income — but most of the donations went to primarily secular organizations. From their adjusted gross income of $481,098, the president and first lady gave $1,500 to St. John’s Church, an Episcopalian parish near the White House where they occasionally attend services. The rest of their giving went to 31 different charities, including the American Red

Instead of getting to work on my own tax return, I´d rather look at President Barack Obama´s. So the White House did me a favor by releasing the 2013 joint federal income tax return of Barack and Michelle Obama Friday afternoon. Here are some highlights: • The Obamas paid $98,169 in total federal income tax on adjusted gross income of $481,098. That´s an effective tax rate of 20.4 percent. • The Obamas are due a tax refund of $19,108. What should they spend it on? • Besides his salary, Obama reported $104,809 in business income from book sales. That´s down

Following the massacre of grammar-school children in Newtown, Conn., in December 2012, high-powered weapons have been used to kill innocent victims in more senseless public incidents. Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators.
