Fox’s Pied Piper of Low information Voters

Incredible how Fox News Corp. talking head Bill O’Reilly—America’s biggest, television talking head who’s out there professing “Obama’s not a bad guy”—thinks he can get away with ‘pin-heading’ John Boehner for “pandering to radio talk show hosts” on amnesty. Guess bloviating Bill never takes the time to tune in to radio talk show hosts where John Boehner has been persona non grata for some time. Boehner finds no comfortable quarters from radio talk show giants Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity or Mark Levin, who continue to castigate the guy who’s a dead ringer for the cowardly lion in the Wizard of

5 years ago I watched Fox Cable News as my primary source of information. Now, virtually never. Had enough of their Fair and Unbalanced, because the "left-wingers" they put on are truly unbalanced, in my opinion.
Mr Williams, Mr Beckel, Mr Carville, O´Reilly himself, and various guests are enough to turn my stomach. Why suffer ? Plenty of real news elsewhere.

Ms McLeod is out of line. She makes me think of a chicken attacking other chickens as soon as she smells blood.
She is no better than, and probably not as good as, those she criticizes.

The more American politics splinters the more fractured the Republican party become. There can be no doubt at all that there has been a 9.0 shift in the American political landscape, for good or bad- mostly bad. The country has slid drastically left in the post Bush years. Bush was a gigantic failure, especially in his 2nd term. He squandered massive political gravity- why, I do not know- power behind the curtain, I suppose. Well, as the Republicans try to survive in this stinking swamp of intrigue and voter ignorance and ennui, we just have no cleats with which to gain traction, thus all this thrashing about. Boehner and O´Reilly are just trying to struggle through on the surface as long as possible. It´s not them- it´s the entire crucible of American political stew that has changed.

O´Reilly is a populist blowhard who respects nothing and no one, except that which will further his career.

It really irritates me that people think he is some sort of conservative icon.

That he is at the top of the ratings merely illustrates that our society is beyond repair.

Why was it necessary for Fox to have Obama interviewed during its Super Bowl broadcast? Neither the office of the president nor Obama have anything to do with thus game or pro sports in general. The federal government was supposed to play a minimal role in our daily lives, yet here was Obama on his media throne with yet another court jester given 10 minutes to entertain him and by extension, us. Fox would not have the Speaker of the House, Boehner, on its sports program, so why Obama?

For those who cannot figure out why Bush´s second term ended so badly, please remember what happened in the 2006 mid term elections. The rat´s took control and EVERY Bill that Bush signed into law beginning in 2007 was authored by rats...for rats. Oh, and Obama was in the Senate during this time. When the rats complain how they "inherited" such a bad economy when Obama took over...that´s a LIE. They authored it and Bush signed away his legacy....

How is it that BOR gets such strong tv ratings and failed so miserably at radio?

He´s far less left than his tv competition and far less right than viable radio counterpoints.

How is it NonFox tv people don´t see the obvious? Another trick question, they don´t care. By circling their wagons, they continue to control the dialog.

One should remember that the last two years of the Bush administration was dominated by the Democrats! Two years they had the Senate and Congress so Bush was pretty much out flanked.

As for O´Reilly, he knew capturing,he would have the audience that was tuned into the Super Bowl. He knew the audience would be huge, and Rush Limbaugh predicted the attendance for the Super Bowl would be greater than Obama´s lone speech. O´Reilly and his staff are no fools.

As for O´Reilly saying Obama doesn´t mean harm to this country is sickening. His remark was a huge disappointment and that conclusion is written here with a great deal
of control. O´Reilly and his program no longer exists in our household.

I agree wholeheartedly with Ms. McLeod. Although O´Baxter does support some conservative positions--admirably, in many cases--he is at bottom a populist hankering for more viewers, and more than willing to swill from the progressive cup if he thinks he´ll be regarded as being fair-minded by those who´d never tune into Fox News, listen to Rush Limbaugh, or vote for a Republican. In other words, he´s a sellout.

Rush, Mark Levin, and Sean Hannity make no apologies for their conservatism, which is why I pay attention to what they say, and avoid O´Reilly. No doubt BOR is a great marketer--Rush is better, incidentally--but O´Reilly is ideologically schizophrenic. When push comes to shove, he will abandon what´s right to appeal to the Lofos. What a shame.

I used to enjoy BOR but for more than a few years now he´s become an insufferable self centered narcissist. Every issue, every comment is all about Bill, how it effects Bill, or how Bill has effected any given situation. And Bill never has a differing opinion than any of his guests - they are simply wrong in theirs. It a distraction, and boring, and I rarely watch anymore.

O´Reilly has done a lot of good. I am glad he is there.

I am not glad that he defends Obama - but I am not surprised. It is his pattern.

He is a jelly doughnut and always turns to goo and mush at the critical moment. It never fails. He talks big and tough but goes soft every time.

We shouldn´t throw the baby out with the bath. O´Reilly has his place. He is just not the hero he thinks he is. But people are not perfect. Conservatives are not in a position to throw away all their flawed spokesmen. Sometimes we just need to hold our noses.

Like many others, I was absolutely shocked and disgusted by O´Reilly´s "Obama´s not a bad guy´ remark.

I also do not care to watch BO´R. He has a bullying, arrogant and stupefyingly stubborn obtuseness. He is rude to Conservatives; solicitous to lefties.

FOX is much fairer than any other network or cable outlet. By having those lefties on, one sees the pretty stark difference in political philosophies.

However, JEMU (i wish she´d wipe that stupid grin off her face) and J. Williams are simply unwatchable. Neither one seems able to think objectively at all. not one scintilla´s worth.

In short, O´Reilly thinks he is really smart. He isn´t.

I also agree that O´Reilly´s asinine statement that "Obama´s a good guy", effectively makes him the King of the LIVs. For the LIV and for BOR a good guy is now a president who for three years lies to the American people promising that "if you like your plan, you can keep it; and if you like your doctor, you can keep him."

Yeah, right - he´s a good guy alright.

Anyone still making excuses for George the Compassionate, emphatically one of the most incompetent Presidents ever to occupy the WH, is in very deep denial. He is the reason we have Obama; stone cold reality. From 2000-06, w/a Rep. Congress, Bush presided over a level of deficit and debt financing breathtaking in its recklessness, forever shattering the GOP reputation for fiscal prudence. Further, his massive unfunded mandates in education and health care vastly expanded the DC bureaucracy, his colossal bungling in Iraq cost us dearly in terms of blood, treasure and most critically, reputation, his bailout of autos and banking destroyed the GOP reputation as a champion of free markets and his refusal to enforce our immigration laws and secure the border exposed Bush as the inept sentimentalist he was at his core. Bush was the catalyst for the Tea Party. History will not be kind to this failure!

O´Reilly´s plan was to take talk radio by storm and steal Rush Limbaugh´s thunder. He attacked Rush and hoped for Rush to retaliate in kind thus building interest in his own radio program. Rush basically ignored him, and so did any sizeable audience. The fact that Ailes didn´t allow O´Reilly to use his television program to attack Rush and create controversy as a means to draw interest in his radio program put another kink in his plans.

As #18 has indicated, he is what he is and he isn´t likely to change. He apparently has his fans and some influence toward the right more often than left. I´m thankful for the fact that there are strong Conservatives elsewhere in whom I can place my trust and support.

I very rarely watch television anymore for anything other than a weather report or something of similar interest. Reading is much easier on the nerves.

#12 We did a careful assessement of the t.v. choices at 7 o´clock (central time) and they are pretty ugly except for Thursday which is Big Bang Theory.

O´Rielly tops the charts because in my opinion, he is the least offensive of all the drivel on other channels(we mute him); the other stuff at the same time is garbage.

BOR´s show becomes a place holder for Megan at 8 p.m. He is too wrapped up in himself as shown by the way he insulted James Rosen recently by his rude & boorish behavior. Rosen had a point he was trying to make germain to the subject but the BOR not only didn´t let Rosen make it, BOR insulted him as well. Totally uncalled for.

#9 "Why was it necessary for Fox to have Obama interviewed during its Super Bowl broadcast?"

Consider that Bill O’Reilly had been talking to Obama´s handlers to do an interview for a while now. Obama´s team sees that the best option for them to say they submitted to an interview on Fox News was to have O´Reilly do the interview, somewhat sympathetic to Obama´s positions. Obama´s team believing they are dealing with a hostile network wants to hedge its bets and places the condition that the interview be aired during the Super Bowl knowing no one is going to be watching and thus lessening any damage that may be done if Obama fails miserably.

Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

New audio reveals an Eastern Connecticut State University professor warning that Republicans will “want things to go back — not to to 1955, but to 1855? if they win control of Congress in November. Republican victories could also put him out of a job, he cautioned. “We will live in a very, very, very different kind of country if that happens,” Professor Brent Terry told students in his Introduction to Creative Writing course, according to audio obtained by Campus Reform. “I mean, colleges will start closing up if these people have their way.” Over the course of his rant, Terry characterized conservatives

As he moves from lobbyists to the golf course, from press conferences to the tanning bed, he remains oblivious to all that is around him. He has power, incredible power, and yet to this day he has no understanding of the election that made it so. Moreover, all around him are astonishing opportunities for him to be an historic figure -- one who could and should be the man who did more than any other single person in turning back the red tide of Obama. It’s all there for Speaker of the House, and yet John Boehner manages to miss

The Citizens Commission on Benghazi, a self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn´t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier. ´The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,´ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline. She blamed the Obama administration

Global sea levels have risen by 8 inches (20cm) since 1880 and scientists predict they could rise up to 3ft (98cm) by 2100. But despite the UN’s recent threats of war, famine and extreme weather, such a dramatically different world caused by sea level rise can be hard to imagine. To help picture the future, Martin Vargic, an amateur graphic designer from Slovakia, has created a map depicting the planet with sea levels around 260ft (79m) higher than they are today. He imagines what Earth would look like if the ice sheets surrounding the North and South poles melted, releasing

It may not be tomorrow, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says "something will happen" to force a Nevada rancher to obey a court order to stop grazing his cattle on federal land and pay his grazing fees. "It´s obvious that you can´t just walk away from this," Reid said in an April 18 interview with a Nevada´s KSNV-TV News 3 program “What’s Your Point?” "You can´t have a law that is -- we´re a nation of laws, not of men and women," he said. Thirty-eight Republican lawmakers, including such unlikely bedfellows as John McCain of Arizona and Ted Cruz of Texas, have joined to support a lawsuit challenging the legality of the Affordable Care Act and accusing the president of repeatedly ignoring the law he signed for political reasons. The lawmakers have signed onto a legal brief in support of a lawsuit filed by Sen. Ron Johnson, the Wisconsin Republican who is asking a federal court to overturn Obamacare’s special treatment for members of Congress and their staffs. “The unlawful executive action at issue in this case is not an isolated incident,” the brief

Perhaps the most remarkable feature of American democracy is the magnificent estate of public land that it reserved from the very beginning for the use of all citizens, rich or poor. There is nothing like it in the democracies of Europe, which came into being with nations already carved up into private fiefdoms. The Great Idea that hundreds of millions of acres of forests, deserts, rivers and prairies should be owned by, and managed for, the public interest has had a profound and lasting influence on American culture. But not everyone has accepted it. Cliven Bundy’s armed standoff with the National Park
