Vegas slot machine that hasn´t hit the

gamblers eager to win the $2.3M prize

An outdated three-reel slot machine is drawing in bigger crowds than a Celine Dion show at Las Vegas casino MGM Grand. The Lion´s Share has failed to produce a single jackpot in almost 20 years, and has attracted a legion of dedicated gamblers who believe it´s going to pay out millions of dollars any day. The Lion´s Share is the lone survivor of a slew of $1 progressive slot machines from the early 1990s. According to Nevada law, slot machines are required to pay out 75 per cent of the money that goes in to them. Therefore, the Lion´s Share

Going to Vegas and losing your money to demonrat casino owners and unions is the same thing as giving your money directly to the DNC and the likes of Dirty Harry, Barry, Peelousy, Feinstein, Boxer, etc.

Did anyone check to see if the machine is broken or set to never pay? What a great way to entice people into the casino...a machine that hasn´t paid in 20 years. Or maybe in reality they are all set not to pay regardless of what the law says.

Judge Joe Brown has been sentenced to a taste of his own medicine. The former TV host has been jailed in contempt of court after going at it with a Memphis judge in a spat captured in an audio recording. The 66-year-old former TV host is angrily heard lecturing and threatening to report a Shelby County judge during a child-support hearing as if the courtroom were his own. The incident appeared to be over his right to due process. "Excuse me ... you need to straighten yourself out," Brown´s heard telling Juvenile Court Magistrate Harold "Hal" Horne in audio obtained by Commercial Appeal

Democrats Leap Into Action After Nate Silver
Drags the Senate Too Far Into ´Panic´ Territory

Nate Silver´s first electoral prediction at the new 538.com was that Democrats are likely to lose the Senate. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which exists solely to keep that from happening, quickly issued a memo hoping to undermine the charge, because Silver threatened to move perceptions of November from hard-but-doable to ugh-why-bother territory. Campaigns spend a lot of time and energy keeping donors, activists, and supporters in a very precisely determined zone, which we´ll call the "motivation" zone. All of those groups need to think that the candidate they´re supporting is on the verge of losing the race, at all times,

A mean and vulgar troublemaker died last week, gone to his reward for making life miserable for millions of Americans, and some of those who suffered under the lash of language, many of them advocates of the lavender lifestyle, have set an example of Christian good will and forbearance. Maybe it will be catching. Whatever good deeds the Rev. Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church left behind — he was once a civil-rights lawyer who defended blacks when no other lawyers would — will be interred with his bones. He’ll be remembered for his message that “God hates f**s,” American

President Obama has told a Dutch newspaper that the United States does not see the ongoing crisis in Crimea and Ukraine as a "zero-sum game" between Washington and Moscow as pro-Russian forces reportedly overran a third Ukrainian military base in the Black Sea peninsula Monday. In the interview, published in Monday´s edition of de Volkskrant, Obama said, "The United States does not view Europe as a battleground between East and West, nor do we see the situation in Ukraine as a zero-sum game. That’s the kind of thinking that should have ended with the Cold War." The president went on to say,

Obamacare is adding billions in economic costs and millions of paperwork hours, according to a new report released on Monday. To mark the anniversary of Obamacare, which became law on March 23, 2010, the American Action Forum released a report finding that the law’s regulatory burdens are twice as great as its benefits. “After four years of implementation, countless delays, a website disaster, and constant litigation, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) celebrates its inauspicious birthday this week,” the report said. “From a regulatory perspective, the law has imposed more than $27.2 billion in total private sector costs, $8 billion in unfunded state

WASHINGTON - Alan Thacker wants health coverage, but he can´t get help in his home state of Georgia. Mary Moscarello Gutierrez no longer can afford insurance in New Jersey. Justin Thompson of Utah refuses to be forced into the president´s health law. Millions of people in the United States will remain uninsured despite this week´s final, frenzied push to sign them up under the health law. Their reasons are all over the map. Across the country, many of the uninsured just don´t know much about the health overhaul and its March 31 deadline for enrolling in plans that can yield big discounts,

After 4-year-old Kaelyn Kerr got stuck in an elevator in Reading, Massachusetts with her mother and baby brother on Wednesday, the only way out was up a ladder and over a wall. Needless to say, little Kaelyn panicked. My Fox Boston reports that the firefighters learned that little Kaelyn liked the Disney movie “Frozen,” and so Scott Myette began playing the movie’s theme song, “Let It Go” on his cell-phone. Myette and fellow firefighter John Keough sang along with the hit song to try calming Kaelyn down. “It worked,” Keough told My Fox Boston. “We got her to a point where she

When it comes to green gentry liberalism, think of an Americanized version of the PBS hit—where everyone knows his or her place, and our betters look best. Last week was a good week for natural gas, but a bad one for green gentry liberalism. John Podesta, a veteran of the Clinton White House who is once again a presidential adviser, tried to explain some energy facts of life to the true-believing liberal base. Still, it’s unclear if Podesta’s intended audience was listening, and that willful blindness may cost the Democrats control of the Senate. Podesta warned that opposition to natural

Yes, shocking as it seems, Alaska was once owned by Russia. It was its colony from 1742 to 1867 until its purchase by the United States from cash-strapped Czar Alexander II. I liked her because she was a free spirit, and a survivor, going out for two, three, even five days, in all seasons. She’d show up when it suited her, waiting in the dark before dawn till I came downstairs and turned on my desk lamp. Then she’d make her presence known by rising up on her hind legs and gently

About 230 feet below the surface, there is easy-listening music playing at somebody’s desk. This is one of the weirdest workplaces in the U.S. government — both for where it is and for what it does. In other words, the most distinguished scientists from the country with the world´s pre-eminent educational institutions were trying to shake humanity out of its complacency. Media Matters, the website of choice for Fox News haters everywhere, attacked the cable news network on Monday for using the term “homosexual” in its programming — advancing the peculiar argument that the scientific term has a “pejorative connotation.” The online “media watchdog” contends that calling gay people “homosexual” is “a practice that’s quickly falling out of favor with major news outlets due the term’s often pejorative connotation and frequent use by opponents of LGBT equality.” Fox News, they chide, “has yet to update its language when referring to gay and lesbian people.” Buttressing their argument? WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney said Sunday that President Barack Obama is naive when it comes to Russia, has shown "faulty judgment" about Moscow´s intentions and could have done more to try to deter its annexation of Crimea. The 2012 Republican presidential nominee said Obama didn´t have the foresight to anticipate Russia´s moves and should have been working earlier with allies to make clear the penalties that Russia would face if it moved into Ukraine. Romney did acknowledge that such steps may not have been enough though to hold back Russia President Vladimir Putin. "Had we communicated those things, there´s always

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how the sweeping acceptance of gay marriage in recent years is owed in large part to Christianity. Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Western world has been working out the logic of these subversive teachings ever since, with the institutional transformation of marriage being the latest, though surely not the last, example of its social, moral,
