Tamara Green Talks About Bill Cosby
Newsweek, by Katie J.M. Baker

Dylan Farrow’s accusations that Woody Allen, her adoptive father, molested her when she was seven have been all over the Internet this week, even though the allegations have been public knowledge for over two decades. As Gawker pointed out, Allen’s not the only beloved celebrity facing accusations of sexual assault that were much discussed, then largely forgotten -- multiple women have accused Bill Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting them. Cosby has repeatedly denied the allegations, and settled a 2006 lawsuit that included 13 accusers. Newsweek spoke to one of those women, Tamara Green, a former trial attorney now living in

What on earth is wrong with some one like Bill Cosby? I am so sure he had lots of women throwing themselves at him. He had to drug and rape this woman who was 19 at the time? I absolutely believe her.

The reason I believe her is because no woman in her right mind would put all of this in print and herself back in the line of fire if it weren´t true. She was obviously vilified the first time she said it. I believe her.

If enough of these women come forward, perhaps some of these celebrity "old wankers" will finally be put away. It took a long time and a lot of effort to put Sandusky where he belonged.

I don´t know. Bill Cosby publicly berates the black community for single mother homes, unconcerned fathers and a disdain of education throughout. Only after he speaks out do we get numerous stories of sexual predation on his part. The perfect he-said, she-said. No, in this hyper-political climate I don´t necessarily believe Tamara Green.

SAN DIEGO -- Being a liberal means never having to be consistent. Take the idea that women should make their own choices about family and career and it is no one else’s business what they choose to do. That sounds good. I just can’t believe it’s coming from liberals who have never been particularly skilled at resisting the urge to criticize women over the choices they make -- if those women are conservative Republicans. In the 1992 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton defended her choice to pursue a high-powered legal career by taking a swipe at the June Cleaver crowd. “I suppose I could

Shirley Temple was the biggest star in the Depression, had dolls and drinks named for her, and yet somehow managed to escape the pitfalls of child stardom with wit and grace. Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be child stars. Not, that is, unless you wish for them an adult life—presuming they live so long—stamped by professional failure, revolving door rehab, and psychiatric counseling with no expiration date. There are few exceptions to the downward spiraling after the age of 12, but the biggest would have to be Shirley Temple Black, who died Monday at the age of 85. (If,

There’s been a lot of fine commentary on the right about the decision by the president to delay the Affordable Care Act’s employer mandate for another year, which is just the most recent in a series of lawless acts by Mr. Obama, all aimed at keeping his teetering health plan from utterly collapsing. It’s worth pointing out, I think, that the manifold and multiplying failures of the Affordable Care Act were predicted by conservatives, many of whom warned–in advance, repeatedly, on the record–how awful ObamaCare would be. Things are, if anything, worse–or at least worse, quicker–than many on the right predicted. The

In the two months since U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman launched his campaign to unseat U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, he has drawn questions about the veracity of some statements he has made about Cornyn’s record. Now, some of Stockman’s statements regarding his own past are drawing more attention. Last week, the Friendswood Republican filed a libel lawsuit in Harris County against a PAC supporting Cornyn. Since late last year, that PAC, Texans for a Conservative Majority, has run television ads and promoted a website that raise questions about Stockman’s character. Most of the worry about the National Security Agency´s bulk interception of telephone calls, e-mail and the like has centered around threats to privacy. And, in fact, the evidence suggests that if you´ve got a particularly steamy phone- or Skype-sex session going on, it just might wind up being shared by voyeuristic NSA analysts. But most Americans figure, probably rightly, that the NSA isn´t likely to be interested in their stuff. (Anyone who hacks my e-mail is automatically punished, by having to read it.) There is, however, a class of people who can´t take that disinterest for granted: members of Congress

Iranian authorities have reportedly hanged Hashem Shaabani, a poet which the regime has accused of being “an enemy of God.” His execution should do more than anything else to provide an opportunity for Secretary of State John Kerry and UN Ambassador Samantha Power to embrace moral clarity, for it does more than anything to show the undeniable cruelty of the Islamic Republic and its murderous ideology. There is a tendency in the State Department—the administration does not matter—to repress discussion of human rights out of fear that to discuss them will risk progress on harder national-security issues like the nuclear deal

Powerful winds in the Pacific Ocean, which have driven surface heat deep underwater, could be the reason behind the current ‘pause’ in global warming. This is according to a joint Australian and U.S. study which has looked at why there has been a slowdown in the planet’s global average surface temperature over the past decade. Their research shows that trade winds in central and eastern parts of the Pacific have caused warm surface water to sink to the ocean´s depths, reducing the amount of heat in the atmosphere. Last year, scientists on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the pace of

From its inception, the strategy behind the Obama administration’s implementation of ObamaCare has been simple: to frontload the benefits and postpone the pain and costs of this massive government intrusion into the private sector for as long as possible. This deceitful approach enabled President Obama run for reelection in 2012 on the spurious promise of extending insurance coverage to the poor and those with pre-existing conditions without being held accountable for the problems with the law that would only become apparent in his second term.
