Thinking for Ourselves: The Rewards

Townhall, by Ben Carson

Original Article

Earlier this year, one of the mainstream media networks was planning to do a special on my retirement from neurosurgery. They recorded a lecture I gave at my medical school, as well as one given at a high school in Detroit. They also accompanied me to my old stomping grounds, where many of the neighbors came out to greet me and talk about old times. I was struck by some of their comments, including the notion that I always had lofty, unrealistic dreams, but that they would enjoy hearing about them anyway. Someone else told me that people would always murmur

Dr. Carson´s message is clear, sharp and highly readable. A Must Read if there´s still room.

Deserves to be required reading in every fourth grade classroom in Detroit , Philly, South-central L.A., Newark, etc., too.

FTA "By keeping large groups of Americans complacent and afraid of challenging authority, the position, wealth and status of those in power is secure. The last thing they want is for independent-thinking citizens to realize that this country was designed for them and not for an arrogant ruling class. They dread the possibility of people scrutinizing their words and deeds, and holding them accountable for the same. By using strong-arm tactics and a sheepishly compliant news media, the supposed guardians of truth, they have become very successful at pawn control."

Unfortunately it will fall on deaf ears in the black community and else where. Statism seems to be gaining a significant foothold which if not reversed will eliminate any rewards for independence, self effort and hard work. Working is now becoming an option under obamacare and the current Democrat Administration. Who is going to pay for all those who decide not to work?

Great diagnosis of the problems with the power structure in this country. One would hope the Republicans in that structure would be out to change things and encourage the pawns to reach the other side rather than blocking them or bribing them to keep them at home where they can´t upset things. Unfortunately they appear to fit right in with the current power structure.

Dr. Carson says: We can play the role of nice little pawn or we can be smart, courageous and move out of our comfort zone to accomplish something truly great for our future.

Ben, that is why the TEA Party was born, and is a threat to those in power. First we should thank Rick Santelli for igniting the response that hard-working Americans needed to show.

The Obama-fawning media couldn´t grasp how/why so many came out to protest against what our new regime in Washington was promoting - its "Homeowners Affordability and Stability Plan - which was "a $75 billion program to help up to nine million homeowners avoid foreclosure." Santelli accused the government of "promoting bad behavior", and raised the possibility of a "Chicago Tea Party". He suggested that individuals who knowingly obtained high-risk mortgages (and faced impending foreclosure as a consequence) were "losers".*

I don´t know what the future holds for Dr. Ben, but right now I hear truth in his words and fearlessness in his efforts.

It is the inverse of Obama who´s style and delivery is excellent but the message is empty.

#8, I suspect that Dr. Carson suffers from a malady that affects many black Americans...he´s talking out of school about "his community." Whether his words are specific to blacks, or not, he knows he is on a tightrope between acceptance or rejection by the black opinion shapers. Ask Justice Thomas how that works. He´s the classic example of a man who fell off, and there is no net.

To introduce Glenn Beck is always a special pleasure for me. Glenn and I have several kinships. We have both chosen the path of missionaries in a troubled world. As a result we are confronted by numerous and powerful adversaries who wish to prevent others from hearing what we have to say, and who have attempted to bury us under layers of fiction as to who we are and what we believe. By appending derisive epithets to our names, they have sought to deny us our humanity and indeed any personhood at all. Because warriors like Glenn Beck are constantly

Admiral Jeremiah Denton died yesterday at the age of 89. Admiral Denton served seven-and-a-half years as a prisoner of war in Hanoi during the Vietnam War. Denton’s name should be known by every American. In captivity he gave something beyond the last full measure of devotion, if that is possible. His is a story of almost unbelievable endurance, courage and patriotism. Here is a short course courtesy of the Denton Foundation that I saved a while back: In June 1965, he began a combat tour in Vietnam as prospective Commanding Officer of Attack Squadron Seventy-Five. A spectacular Roman Catholic church in Syracuse, NY is about to become the Mosque of Jesus, Son of Mary. Holy Trinity Church, established in 1891, is a stunning piece of Gothic-style architecture with glorious stained glass windows depicting the life of Christ. It was closed in 2010 when the Catholic diocese there blamed a declining number of priests and a population shift from the cities to the suburbs. St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church took over ownership of the building, and it was registered with the Syracuse Landmark Preservation Board. In 2012, St. John’s petitioned the preservation board to sell the

They say it contains enzymes known as HMGF (hydroxy methyl glutaryl flavonones) which can attack proteins in the body known to cause heart disease. The study found bergamot could even be as effective as statins, used to control cholesterol but which can have side effects in
