Woody Allen Speaks Out
New York Times, by Woody Allen

Original Article

Posted By:Harleynyc, 2/7/2014 9:59:47 PM

TWENTY-ONE years ago, when I first heard Mia Farrow had accused me of child molestation, I found the idea so ludicrous I didn’t give it a second thought. We were involved in a terribly acrimonious breakup, with great enmity between us and a custody battle slowly gathering energy. The self-serving transparency of her malevolence seemed so obvious I didn’t even hire a lawyer to defend myself. It was my show business attorney who told me she was bringing the accusation to the police and I would need a criminal lawyer. I naïvely thought the accusation would be dismissed out of hand because of course, I hadn’t molested Dylan

Comments:
Well written, easy to understand. If you still believe Mia, you dead wrong.

I think the perversion is widespread and there is more than enough to go around. A pox on all of them. They live in a world I don´t want to know anything about. Go away.

I guess I´m not sure who I believe in this whole family drama/crime, but one thing that I am sure about is the liberal double standard has been outed. I thought the liberal mantra on sex abuse was one of believing the victim not matter what. Guess it depends on what Oscar winning Hollywood bigwig´s ox is being gored, doesn´t it?
That´s what bugs me the most, the double standard they are allowed to have on everything.

There is also a link at the end to the judge´s decision (all 33 pages in pdf) at the end of this article.

It is OP who needs to rethink their position. Unless they are closely connected to Woody?

Give it up for Rand Paul demanding that Democrats give back money raised for them by pervs like Bill clinton and Woody.

Why anyone today would pay to watch one of his movies´ is a mystery to me.

As I said in an earlier post, both Allen and Farrow are freaks who should never have been around children, period. At this point I don´t think there´s enough evidence to say Allen did anything to Dylan Farrow. And given Mia Farrow´s psychotic behavior, the classic "poisoning of children against the ex" ploy is at least as strong a possibility as the alleged assault.

This is what Hollywood royalty is made of, and they have far too much power in the world.

It is SO New York Times to print this rumpled, crumpled, moldy story. And for what? You´d think Woody Allen was the first man to be accused of something nefarious.

While most of Woody Allen´s work, in my opinion, borders on genius, his preoccupation with death and sex always gave me a twinge of discomfort -- about him.

In short, get over it, Woody. You, too, Mia. Nobody cares except your Dullywood groupies.

This is all about a woman scorned. And if Dylan has moved on and is now happy, why was it necessary for Mia to drag them through this again? I´m not an Allen fan but I don´t think he did this.

As someone who has been through a divorce, I always like to point out that there are two sides to every story of a breakup. While I am no fan of Allen´s, I was glad to finally hear his side of their very public story, because Farrow´s always did smell like a pile of dog feces.

Mia did not go to law enforcement. She had to take Dylan to the doctor and the doctor determined there had been abuse. The doctor was required by law to report abuse to law enforcement.

He can´t get through the first paragraph without a big lie.

All of the discerning posters who freely opine that there is nothing to this story should take the time to read Orth´s article, at the link given by an earlier poster. Then follow the link at the bottom to the actual ruling of the judge who heard all the evidence given and made an OFFICIAL ruling on the case. Personally, I given his understanding of both accusations and denials more credence than any of the opinions I´m reading elsewhere.

As for the "Who Cares?" contingency? Let me tell you why you need to pay attention, why you should care...about the topic, if not the specific individuals involved in this incident. I have 6 grandchildren--3 biological, 3 adopted. The 3 adopted kids were molested in their bio-mom´s home. It started with the little girl, about the time she was 2-3. She then started molesting her baby brother, still in diapers and unable to talk. She eventually graduated to my 2 biological grandsons. They are all now in their teens, and the nuclear fallout from that childhood tragedy still continues to affect the whole family.

We were very careful to protect our kids from adult predators. What we didn´t know is that we also needed to protect them from other children whose parents DIDN´T protect them from adult predators...who are much more common than most people think, and found in some very unlikely places. You´d jolly well BETTER care, and pay close attention to everyone who wants to interact with your kids. In this case, an ounce of prevention is worth a TON of cure!

Posters who believe Mia brought this up are information-challenged.

Dylan is now a grown woman. Her open letter was her response to Woody Allen´s award and accolades at a recent awards ceremony, and the gushing of Cate Blanchett and Diane Keaton, to name just a few. It was too much for Dylan.

It´s amazing that we are constantly being told and it is considered an established fact that child molestors/pedophiles are that way for life. They can never be cured, hence castrate them, lock them up and throw away the key. Here we have a man who has no history of molestation or pedophilia in his life, yet because of who he is, there is a rush to judgment. I don´t care for Woody Allen´s politics, but that´s it.

For the "who care´s" crowd, I think that this is important. Not because of who they are, but because of the substance of the issue. It takes so very little for a certain segment to get out their long knives.

Bottom line: there is no evidence. If there was, Woody Allen would have at least been brought up on charges. He also would have done it again and again and again - right?

If there was no evidence, why did the judge hearing the custody case deny Woody not only custody but visitation? With no evidence, Woody surely would have won an appeal. There was evidence, just not enough to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.

1) Interview with Woody Allen in People Magazine in the 70s when he was 41. From the interview:

[[ He has little interest in family life:
"It´s no accomplishment to have or raise kids. Any fool can do it."
He goes on: "I´m open-minded about sex. I´m not above reproach; if anything, I´m below reproach. I mean, if I was caught in a love nest with 15 12-year-old girls tomorrow, people would think, yeah, I always knew that about him." Allen pauses. "Nothing I could come up with would surprise anyone," he ventures helplessly. "I admit to it all."]]

Can any of you imagine your father, or husband, or boyfriend/partner, at the age of 41, saying these things?

A few more thoughts:

2) Soon-Yi was a very young child when Woody Allen began his relationship with Mia Farrow. He took nude photographs of Soon-Yi while she was a teenager (the ones we know about). His intimate relationship with his long-time partner´s young daughter began when he was still with Farrow. This creepy saga alone should set off GIANT alarm bells.

3) Mia Farrow has never accused her other partners of abuse, even when they left her for other women. Frank Sinatra felt protective of her his whole life.

4) I think ANY mother would understandably be angry and repulsed that her partner of many years would take nude photographs and have a sexual relationship, then MARRY, her daughter whom Woody Allen knew from when she was very young. That is sick, I don´t care who you are.

5) Dylan was adopted by Farrow and Allen. Read the court documents and see if you still believe Allen is innocent in any way. There were witnesses to his strange behaviour.

6) Woody Allen was ordered by the court to not be allowed to around Dylan again. He lost all rights.

A babysitter walked in on Allen with his head on Dylan´s lap in a strange pose (sexual). She reported it, this is what got everything started. It´s all in the court documents. The prosecutor´s statements, then and now, support Mia and Dylan´s side. He said he had probable cause, read his statements.

Molesters usually get away with it because they know how to manipulate and frighten young children over whom they have authority, they know to molest in secret and they know to intimidate their victims into silence. And the family and friends and actresses who have been paid a lot of money to work for the molester do not want to admit they have supported a monster because that would reflect on their own characters. That is basically it in a nutshell...

I hope those who are bitter from getting divorced from women who manipulated them, do not side with a monster without looking into the evidence.

If #31 and any others who are outraged at what they characterize as "the long knives" will use their fingers and keyboard to find the judge´s decision (33 pages in pdf and scathing) in 1997 as to why Woody Allen was not to have custody of his adopted children and why any visitation was limited, or not at all, but in any case never unsupervised.

The case was not pursued by the prosecutor because of his beiief that Dylan was too young (7 years old) and "fragile" (his word) to go through a lengthy court trial, testifying to what he had done.

Don´t know whether your daughter (if you have one) could have testified at 7 to being taken to an attic, told to lie on the floor on her stomach and play with a toy train, and sodomized by her "father".

Before throwing stones go an locate the basis for our defense of and belief in Dylan´s account. The truth.

Oh wow. I just read #31. Stunning ignorance.

No evidence?

#31 hasn´t read the court documents, am I right? I don´t think 300 words are enough to detail all the evidence....court documents, the judge and prosecutor´s scathing reports, the witnesses who observed Allen´s "grossly inappropriate" behavior towards Dylan, the babysitter catching Allen with his head in Dylan´s lap in a sexual pose (horrific details on this incident). Much more in the court documents....Allen taking nude photographs of his long-time partner´s daughter as a teen whom he knew since she was a very young child (Soon Yi) WHILE still with Mia, THEN marrying her. Yuck. The quotes he´s given in interviews about how he admitted no one would be surprised if they heard he was having orgies with 12-year-olds (this says it all).

No evidence? Whoah.....the question should be, How much evidence do you need?

No evidence sure seems to be really hard to accept by "true believers", so go for the ad hominem. And yeah, I read the judge´s opinions. Did you also get upset when the McMartins, Amiraults, Michaels, etc... were released/found not guilty? This is a case of no evidence. It doesn´t even come close to the standard that a civilized society uses to find guilt. Emotion over facts - sheesh. What a way to live.

No one addresses the fact that there remains no other instances for the alleged pedophilia.

Also, judge Wilk is quite an interesting guy - kept a picture of Che Guevara in his office and had quite a thing for anyone he viewed as elite.

#43, multiple witnesses giving testimony does not count as evidence? The babysitter who sounded the alarm to the rest of the staff? She saw it. Dylan´s testimony is also evidence. She was 7. Mia didn´t want to believe her at first. She hoped it wasn´t true. Court records. Far from "coaching" her. Ridiculous. Allen´s own words that he would participate in orgies with 12-year-olds? Allen admitting that he secretly took nude photographs of the young daughter of his still current long-time partner, and then conveniently "falling in love" and marrying the daughter, whom he first met when she was ten? Allen hiring his own lie-dectector guy but refusing to take the police test? The court documents report that the Yale team that "exonerated" Allen were "colored by loyalty to Allen", were not experts in child sexual abuse cases and conveniently "destroyed all notes and paperwork". Custody of all minor children were given to Farrow. Allen´s rights were taken away because of "grossly inappropriate behaviour". The statements of the prosecutor "I had probable cause" to charge Allen. He didn´t want to put Dylan through a trial, and Farrow agreed. The courts made sure Allen could never come near her or the other children again.

I submit to you that you have not read the court documents. If you have, then you have very serious problems to so smugly 100% dismiss the allegations and call the victim a liar.

Regarding the liberal judge, everybody in this case are flaming liberals. That does not mean Dylan was not molested by Woody Allen. Her testimony is credible. Everything about how this has played out over the years leans in her favor, the pattern. Molesters only target vulnerable, powerless persons they can intimidate. This is why molesters are so rarely caught. There are other witnesses; there are Allen´s own perverted words and behaviour.

Wake up. Did you support Sandusky too? Sandusky targeted only the fatherless, vulnerable boys in his "charity" and his adopted son. He never tried to molest the strong, protected (involved parents) players on the teams he coached. He knew better. An assistant finally caught him; Sandusky was a powerful man and the assistant knew that. So he went to the very top, to the King of Penn State, to Joe "Pa" because he of all people could stop this monster. Guess what? The king did nothing. No one went to rescue the boy that the assistant saw getting raped.

This is an evil world because of people who allow the monsters a wide, comfortable berth. Cowards.

When I watched "When Harry Met Sally", I thought I was observing a couple of neurotics. Fortunately there were no children.

The story line of "When Woody Met Mia" concerns the tale of two psychotics.
UNfortunately there are a slew of children.

Janet Napolitano, then-head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), told Rep. As it turned out, DHS did not furlough any personnel, but rather relied on cuts to other areas and shifting funds from other budgets to cover salaries. For instance, Customs and Border Protection

WASHINGTON — There will be no trademark for “Redskins Hog Rinds,” a bad omen for the Washington Redskins in the legal battle over their name. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has rejected a request from a company to sell pork rinds using the word “Redskins” because it deemed the term to be “derogatory slang.” In a letter dated Dec. 29, the agency wrote: “Registration is refused because the applied-for mark REDSKINS HOG RINDS consists of or includes matter which may disparage or bring into contempt or disrepute persons, institutions, beliefs, or national symbols.”

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power did not attend an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting Wednesday, Fox News reported. The meeting was scheduled to discuss an alleged chemical weapons attack on Wednesday. Power’s decision not to attend drew criticism due to her past statements on Syria. Power criticized the U.N. Security Council’s lack of action in Syria during her confirmation hearing. She also discussed the country in a Twitter town hall she hosted last week. A U.S. mission official told Fox News that Power was on a “pre-arranged trip” and

Hundreds of people from across North America are expected to flood Saylorsburg on Saturday to protest a controversial Turkish figure, Fethullah Gülen, who has lived in the area for more than a decade. A Turkish couple in Florida said they began circulating a flier on social media two weeks ago, encouraging people to come to the Poconos to protest a man they say is a danger to the U.S. and their home country. The protest is set for 1 p.m. by Gülen´s home and retreat center on Mount Eaton Road.

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

I began reading the entirety of the first section of the New York Times at nine years old, and continued that practice, more or less, for decades.(snip) ...the power of reverence, intrinsic to what I call the “cascade” of The Times: the near avalanche-like flow and distribution of information through electronic and print networks: through like-minded network newscasts, magazines, local newspaper s, blogs, daytime talk TV, late-night entertainment, statements at media award ceremonies, the celebrity Twitterverse, etc. The cascade rolls through Saturday Night Live, Jon Stewart, The New Yorker, the mouths of third-grade teachers, Elmo, Madonna and Susan Sarandon …through

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.” Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one
