Paul Foster apparently attends
secret Koch brothers meeting

El Paso Times (Texas), by Marty Schladen

Original Article

Posted By:mickeymat, 2/6/2014 9:47:31 AM

AUSTIN >> El Paso businessman Paul Foster might have attended a secret conclave held last week by the Koch brothers, billionaire industrialists who tap big-money donors to push an anti-regulatory agenda. If Foster attended, a prominent political scientist said Wednesday, he could harm the public´s faith in his ability to serve as chairman of the University of Texas Board of Regents.

Comments:
An hysterical opinion piece masquerading as a news story. Newspapers like this one use names of those who donate to or are members of conservative groups to smear them in print and destroy their reputations. Mr. Foster has donated millions to charitable causes in El Paso.

The combination of Koch and Texas is too much for them to bear. The left seriously views Texas as under UN or EU authority as it is. The UK did massive outreach with Texas state legislators in 2009 to get them to believe in global warming, flew 2 Texas lawmakers to the UK to meet with climate scientists and gov. officials. Many from UK met at length in Texas with lawmakers trying to sell them on CO2 terror. Elected officials were even shown a personal video made by global warming profiteer Prince Charles.

And since when are the Koch brothers (or you and I -- or Democrat "friends") subject to "open meeting laws?"

Reminds me of So I Married an Axe Murderer...

Stuart Mackenzie: Well, it´s a well known fact, Sonny Jim, that there´s a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows.

Tony Giardino: So who´s in this Pentavirate?

Stuart Mackenzie: The Queen, The Vatican, The Gettys, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went bits up. Oh, I hated the Colonel with is wee *beady* eyes, and that smug look on his face. "Oh, you´re gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!"

Charlie Mackenzie: Dad, how can you hate "The Colonel"?

Stuart Mackenzie: Because he puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes ya crave it fortnightly!

The El Paso Times is certainly a bastion of fair reporting. There are quite a few terms like seems like, might be. Whether Cal Jilson is come kind of expert has escaped me for years. No doubt he could tell us if he was one of the SMU faculty members opposed to having the Bush Library on the SMU campus. His comments about large donors deterring small donations are laughable.

I didn´t read any explanations for who is funding the liberal organizations in Texas. Surely he could find the dirty money from international fugitive George Soros and his minions and organizations. Cal Jilson might share his views on such. Good luck with that.

By the way, Cal, current and past chairmen of the UT Board of Regents have found their positions on the Board of Regents through political nominations. You are far from naive and know this well. No doubt you would welcome a Soros or other left wing pick by a moonbat left governor.

By the way, lots of Texas newspapers print articles from a news service known as the "Texas Tribune" (which means they actually pay for that "service.") based in Austin.

The Texas Tribune is a well-known cadre of leftists who have a magazine that is only read by pointy-head academics, leftists, and I believe is required to be purchased by every Texas public library for those leftists too cheap to buy their own copy.

Of course, no Texas newspaper subscribes to any right-of-center news service and when their writings are published and commented upon by newspaper staff or hired thugs like the Texas Tribune folks, they are identified clearly as "radical," "right-wing," "ultra-conservative," "tea party Republican," and the like.

It must be horrible to live your life as something you know you are not. It must be equally horrible to live that life knowing that no one will accept you as who you know you really are. When I was in school, I had a friend named Kenny, and Kenny knew he was not a boy. Yes, he looked like a boy and doctors proclaimed him to be a boy when he was born. But despite what it said on his birth certificate, Kenny knew he was not a boy. This fact became apparent to Kenny at a very young age and he tried to convince all those around him that he was not a boy. But he got no support.

For Matt Jordan, political conservatism and skepticism go hand in hand. So he says he has trouble understanding why more conservatives don’t question religion like they do the federal government. “They don’t want the government saying, ‘I’m with the government, I’m here to help,’” said Jordan, 55, who lives in Spotsylvania County. “They’re not going to buy that just because you said it. And yet, conservatives tend to be the most religious. I can’t wrap my mind around that.”

As the shock wore off after learning Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was buried in a Caroline cemetery, Caroline County officials realized that there’s little they can do about it. Caroline Sheriff Tony Lippa and Floyd Thomas, chairman of the Board of Supervisors, said that as long as no laws were broken—which they are checking into—they didn’t have a choice about the body being buried in the county.

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as
