As the Latest Christie Story Evolved,
The Times Should Have Noted a Change

New York Times, by Margaret Sullivan

Original Article

In the digital age, news evolves before our very eyes. A story breaks and goes online with perhaps a few rough paragraphs. Soon after, more details are added, new angles explored and writing is tuned up. Finally — at least in organizations like The Times — a thorough and polished version makes its way onto the web and into both print and the archives. It happens every day, all day. But what about a case in which an early version of a story says something that proves to be, if not untrue, then at least overstated? That happened at The

The NYT doesn´t care about the truth. Based on their observable business model, they care about making conservatives (or the GOP) look bad and making liberals look good. It really doesn´t get more complicated than that.

I´m tired about hearing this crap. Christie may have held up traffic for two days….Who cares. Compare it to:

Obama lies about Benghazi
Obama lies about IRS putting the screws to the Tea Party
Obama lies about you can keep your doctor, insurance and you will pay $2,500 less each year for Health Insurance
Hilary lies about Benghazi
Hilary lies about a clot so that she can avoid the press

Assuming Christie hasn´t lied, I believe he´s going to come out of this thing looking even better to the voters across the country. He´s going to take a beating from the NJ Dems and the New York papers, but he´s got three years to make his case to the nation if he wants to do so.

I am not really a Christie fan, but I want the truth to come out on this, one way or another, then drop it.

I think it is a tempest in a teapot, primarily driven by the left to discredit him, drive a wedge in the GOP, and, mostly, to distract away from Obamacare, unemployment, Benghazi, and the growing downturn in the market.

Yet the NYT ignores Fast and Furious because it is such a "complicated story to explain".

The Obama administration smuggled thousands of guns and weapons to Mexico knowingly into the hands of drug cartels and criminals for them to use against Mexican citizens, Mexican law enforcement, and US border guards.
Hundreds were killed. Including at least two US border guards.
The only plan was to determine the origin of the guns via serial numbers if they were found at the murder scene.
Few of the guns were left at the murder scene.
Most continue to be used today in more murders.

The plan was so illogical and insane that many conspiracy theories have developed to explain the Obama administrations actions. And unlike most conspiracy theories, these make more sense than the administrations explanations.

A parking ticket, traffic citation or involvement in a minor fender-bender are enough to get a person´s name and other personal information logged into a massive, obscure federal database run by the U.S. military. The Law Enforcement Information Exchange, or LinX, has already amassed 506.3 million law enforcement records ranging from criminal histories and arrest reports to field information cards filled out by cops on the beat even when no crime has occurred. LinX is a national information-sharing hub for federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. It is run by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, raising concerns among some

This week brought yet another tussle in the altogether imaginary public battle over Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s future at the Supreme Court, this time in the form of a column in the Los Angeles Times by Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of the UC–Irvine law school, and someone whose opinions I always take extremely seriously. Chemerinsky argues, as many have argued before him, that Ginsburg—who turned 81 on Saturday, has survived one type of cancer and one cancer scare, and has broken her ribs twice in the past two years—should retire this summer in order to ensure that “a Democratic president will be

Malaysia admitted the technology that has spontaneously exploded on other flights was being carried on the missing plane. Malaysian officials have confirmed that a consignment of lithium-ion batteries was in the cargo hold of Flight MH370. “These are not regarded as dangerous goods,” said the CEO of Malaysian Airlines, Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, “and were packed as recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organisation.” Little attention has been given to what was in the cargo hold of the Boeing 777, yet this would automatically be of interest to accident investigators. In the final push before the end of open enrollment on March 31, the Obama administration has spent millions to promote Obamacare. From January to the end of March the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which is administering the president’s signature health-care law will have spent $52 million on paid media for Obamacare. Meaning, if all goes according to the most recent plan and the administration reaches its revised enrollment goal of six million, taxpayers will have spent nearly $9.00 per signup on advertising alone. With an average pay out of $17.3 million a month on advertising alone, past months have already

The environmental left is seeing Democrats the Keystone XL pipeline, and raising them natural-gas exports. The question of who folds on this issue will play big in this midterm election year. A split is growing in the Democratic Party, one that ought to rival the divisions on the right that the headlines trumpet. Greens are increasingly bitter about President Obama —annoyed that he´s dropped climate legislation, scaled back green subsidies, ignored fracking. They´ve channeled their frustration into the fight against Keystone, warning that they´ll turn their significant money and resources against Mr. Obama´s party if the president approves more "dirty oil."

For all of the nonchalant assurances that he is neither a “dictator” nor an “emperor,” Barack Obama is certainly trigger-happy with the power jokes. The president’s latest witticism was inspired by his much-debated appearance on Between Two Ferns, during which he traded carefully scripted barbs with actor Zach Galifianakis. “Zach actually was pretty nervous,” Obama explained to Ryan Seacrest in a postmortem interview. “His whole character is to go after the guest, and I think he was looking around and seeing all these Secret Service guys with guns and thinking, I wonder what happens here if I cross the line? Eighteen months ago former Clinton Secretary of State Madeline Albright attacked Governor Romney’s warning that Russia is America’s number one geopolitical foe: “He is not up to date and that is a very dangerous aspect; that’s just an example of his 20th century approach to 21t century issues.” The idea: conflict with Russia was a relic of the cold war and that since the now infamous “reset,” identifying them as a threat and a problem was naive and silly. Is Barack Obama simply too busy to be Chief Executive of the United States? Apparently. One of the primary functions of the president is to keep the nation safe, to preserve it from its enemies. To do that effectively, one would actually have to maintain something of a consistent level of attention to the moving pieces that directly influence how future events will unfold. None other than the truly sycophantic thinks for a second that President Obama cares a whit for anything that does not involve fundamentally altering the social composition of this country. Or golf. Black students are more likely to be suspended from U.S. public schools — even as tiny preschoolers. The racial disparities in American education, from access to high-level classes and experienced teachers to discipline, were highlighted in a report released Friday by the Education Department´s civil rights arm. The suspensions — and disparities — begin at the earliest grades. Black children represent about 18 percent of children in preschool programs in schools, but they make up almost half of the preschoolers who are suspended more than once, the report said. Six percent of the nation´s districts with preschools reported suspending at
