How ObamaCare Misreads America
Wall Street Journal, by Michael Barone

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 2/2/2014 9:52:51 PM

People learn from their mistakes. Or they can—and should. Which is the reason we should try to learn from the revelations of mistakes about health care and health insurance since the passage of ObamaCare. The evidence is not all in. But it seems that Americans are not behaving as ObamaCare´s architects—and many critics—expected. Start with the assumption that just about everyone wants health insurance. You can easily find polls that support this proposition. ObamaCare architects assumed that if you offered health insurance with subsidies for those with relatively modest incomes, those currently uninsured would flock to apply.

This will all be a drop in the bucket compared with what happens at the end of 2014. Employer-sponsored plans will then become subject to the whims of the Boy King´s ghoulish minions...this uninsured group was literally just the tip of the iceberg. We´ve heard the figure 85% bandied about in connection with the employer-sponsored group. I have always been a "steady as she goes" type investor but believe this may signal the time to run for the hills.

Uninsured don´t care about insurance... they get what they need from emergency rooms & will not change. No, this law is all about power, control & violating the constitution.

Illegals don´t want to be legalized... they have a lifestyle & financial stream that would be interrupted if they became "legal".
NO, this law is all about logging a bunch of name & addresses for ACORN to pretend to be on absentee ballots.

#3. Most of them are already feeling the pain. The Mandate has been suspended (by the King of course) but the other provisions are applicable, in some cases restricting options and forcing Companies to pay higher premiums, therefore putting pressure on Wages, slowing the economy, reducing Taxes received by the Feds, etc.

All in all.....just a horrible recipe for our economy.

Obama misreads Americans. Period. Having worked only with lo-fo voters and community organizees, he is firmly of the opinion all of us are as dumb as they are. Surrounded by mediocrity in advisors and a fawning media, is it any wonder he thinks he´s the smartest man in the room. Actually he is the smartest man in a room full of "journalists".

An awful lot of non-participants in our capitalist system live from day to day. To expect them to sign on to a complicated health care program, acquire a doctor, and then develop a plan of regular check-ups and follow-up care is way beyond their reckoning. That´s why they go to the ER when they get a cold....and that practice won´t change.

Sorry, not buying it. If 0bama and his handlers were misreading America, he would have gone down in stinging defeat in 2012. They apparently know us better than we know ourselves. Conservatives are still thinking dreamily of a bucolic far off America of gentlemen farmer/legislators, Franklin and Jefferson. The Left has clearly caught on how we have changed and how they can exploit it. They have been at their poison sowing work for two generations while we have been asleep. 0bama and 0bamacare are the toxic fruits of that neglect. This will not yield to a bandaid fix. Radical cardiac surgery is required.

This article approaches the divisions in the country from a completely different perspective--social connectedness. The upper 20% of white Americans tend to have it. The lower 30% don´t. And when the upper 20% tries to impose its ideas on the lower 30%, there is a disconnect that all the Obamacare ads in the world cannot fix. We are not a homogeneous country. One-size-fits-all solutions will not work for us. It´s too bad the Progressives are so blinded by their own brilliance that they will be unable to see it until their whole system is found to be held together by duct tape and chewing gum and comes crashing down on them.

FTA: “The lower (income and education) group has high rates of divorce and single parenthood and low rates of social connectedness. They tend to be disconnected and disengaged, and sometimes heedless.”

The disconnectedness now experienced is a direct result of the communist attack on the social fabric of our culture that began with marriage and the strong families the institution created. The promise of false freedom under the guise of the sexual revolution first manifested itself with “no-fault” divorce, and the lie that children were “resilient” and would be better off in homes without the tension of marital problems. Wherein the culture once promoted the value that married couples needed to find adult answers to adult problems in order to protect their children’s development, the culture began to cater to the human frailty to opt for the “easy” answer. The breakdown of the marital bond led people to falsely place sexual relations outside that bond leading to the inevitable belief that pre-marital sex, cohabitation without marriage, and serial monogamy was no different than a committed marriage. Then the inevitable out-of-wedlock pregnancies “needed” abortions to support the false freedom of sex without the “punishment of having a baby.” Without the connectedness fostered in families, people were not prepared to participate in church and social fraternities. This is why defending the social issues is important for those who claim the conservative mantle.

Now it appears that the social disconnectedness that the communists deliberately created may be their Achilles heel. When people don’t really care about their sexual partners, their children, and their families there is no compelling need for them to care about any responsibilities their government may impose upon them. Indeed, our enemies are falling into the traps that they themselves have led.

For the sake of brevity and quick understanding I´ve been referring to the 92 million adult Americans who don´t vote as the "Federalist Party" ~

- as you recall they had this idea that voting by the broad masses was not necessary ~ that men of property and intellect would select good people to be government officials.

Well, that didn´t last long. Jefferson had a better idea ~ lots of voters!

There´s still 92 million non voters out there and they all have their reasons ~ and they play a part in our political life by not voting. That deludes the Democrats, at 30% and the Republicans, also at 30%, to believe they speak also for the Federalists at 40%!

ObamaKKKare is foundering on the shoals of that non voting 40% ~ they are well versed in the art of non participation ~ and passive resistance.

They don´t need no steenkin´ badjes!

President Obama is suddenly upset about the alleged wage gap between men and women, but he´s not responding to a national economic crisis. Instead, he is attempting to revive the "war on women" theme that, according to Washington wisdom, helped carry Democrats to victory in 2012 and might do again in 2014. If this narrative were true, the White House could spend the year demonizing Republicans as women-hating creeps, driving women to the polls in November and helping the party hold the Senate. But the conventional analysis isn´t accurate. National exit polls from 2012 show scant success for the war-on-women

Anyone wondering why the U.S. economy can´t seem to grow at its usual pace should examine one product category where production is booming: federal regulation. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports.
