Obama Battles O’Reilly in Pre-Super
Bowl Interview: ‘You and Your TV
Station’ Push Benghazi, IRS

Mediaite, by Evan McMurry

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/2/2014 5:54:00 PM

President Barack Obama sat down with Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly for a pre-Super Bowl interview, a reprise of the Q&A the two did before the 2011 game, and Obama’s sixth straight pre-Super Bowl interview. O’Reilly grilled Obama on why Kathleen Sebelius had not been fired, noting that he as a taxpayer was paying her salary, and also asked if Obama thought the “If you like your plan you can keep your plan” claim was his “biggest mistake?” Obama responded to both queries by arguing that the implementation of the Affordable Care Act was an ongoing process, and he was committed to

Comments:
I have been the first to criticize O´Reilly, but I think he did a good job in this interview in coming out full force with 0bama and doing the best he could in stopping him from endless bloviating. As always, 0bama looked small and petty when he got in the dig about Fox. How rude and petty for a sitting president, how could we expect anything less from him. Of course he never gave a direct answer to any of the pointed questions from O´Reilly.

Really, O´Reilly! Amazing job!
Loved the "as a taxpayer" approach; he smartly became one of us--- not a celebrity. He pushed Obama just far enough and then let him hang --- ONLY when even pea-sized brainiacs could see that Obama was dodging and lying. Good, GOOD job! Very pleasantly surprised!

Obama was clearly angry that O´Reilly wouldn´t let him off the hook. He´s not used to that.

Nonetheless, he didn´t give any straight answers.

Mr. President do you think FOX should cover up your Administrations numerous scandals or should they cover them up as thereat of the main stream media?

Mr President if FOX is not being fair with you, has the media been fair to Gov Christie recently?

Mr. President do you think it puts a Chill in the 1st Amendment over the Charging Mr. D´Souza over campaign donations after some of the highly suspect campaign contributions in both your elections.

Mr. President does it give a poor appearance that you put a campaign doner in charge of the IRS Investigation.

No O´Reilly probably did not ask these questions and Obama went on the attack anyway.

I can´t believe O´Reilly pushed this hard, but then he probably thought this was his last shot at an interview with Obomba. I would have followed up with Obomba blaming FOX for Benghazi mess by asking, Mr. President, then why did you lie to the American people?

Won´t watch it, but I´d bet that O´Reilly´s didn´t ask the 3 questions I would have asked...

Where were you during the Benghazi attack and what were you doing that was more important than saving our foreign service people?

Where was Hillary during the Benghazi attack and what was she doing that was more important than saving our foreign service people?

Who gave the stand down order and why?

I would normally NEVER listen to anything that 0bama has to say, but this was worth the ten minutes to hear it. I don´t like O´Reilly, either, but this was fascinating to see his "calm" & focused demeanor with our current Prince of Darkness (can I say that?).

Things popped out. One, 0bama admits to changing the "Grandfather clause" on his healthcare act. This is unconstitutional. He claims that there is a videotape that shows the "terrorist" attack on Benghazi. What is he talking about and where are all the audio/video made that night from phone calls and the overhead drone? Finally, 0bama claimed 3M signed up, and then said these were 3M young people carried by their parents signing up.

So what was the question posed by one of O´Reilly´s viewers? He had been soliciting questions a couple of weeks ago and promised that one of them would be asked.
I submitted mine, but I´m sure it was 86d.

Americans died in Benghazi, the President should be fully prepared to give the full account of what happened and why.
The IRS, by not granting tax exemptions to groups of the opposition party prevented them from raising funds to support their candidate..denying Americans a free and full election.
Obama is a dirty President..he smells from a mile away. That will be his legacy.

I swore I wouldn´t watch this, but decided to at least start out watching. Glad I did because I think O´Reilly really tried holding Obama´s feet to the fire. Of course Obama lied, but he ended up looking like a petulant child in the process. Anyone who was impressed with Obama rather than O´Reilly in this interview has a few screws loose. The only time O´Reilly let up on Obama was when he asked for his prediction about the Super Bowl Game. Sorry reply to that one too.

This was BOR best interview with the slippery Hussein.
He gave him tough questions and wouldn´t let him filibuster.
Hussein looked like a girly man about to have a throw down
He lied to the American people about Benghazi because it didn´t fit his "AQ is done" narrative.

Would I have liked for him to press a bit harder? Of course. But, like it or not, Mr. Obama is the President of the United States, and Bill O´Reilly handled the interview with all due respect.

Marshall McLuhan - the media is the message.
BOR played right into hands of BHO. BOR held this interview just before the SB - when no one was interested in politics; minds were on the SB. The fact that BOR asked all the hard questions will come to serve BHO, the dems, Hill and others very well in the months ahead. Why? Because, their answer will be ´asked and answered, now let´s move on´.
What BOR did was to assist in one of the most dems most critical ´document dumps´. When do pols dump bad news - Fridays when minds are tired and focused on the weekend; come Monday, it´s old news.
No one will remember his answers and he (and the rest of the dem gang) will claim it´s old news, that the chief went before the enemy and answered all the questions and now drop it.
We lost this round, like the Broncos lost the SB.

Despite some posters criticisms, I still think O´Reilly did a good job. We have to remember he only had about ten minutes to interview our King and of course Obama would want to stall. O´Reilly kept trying to pin him down, then had to move on with another question. I just hope it helped open the eyes of the sheeple who still like Obama. If they have even a tiny brain, they could tell Obama is nothing but an empty suit, liar, and waffles more than the Waffle House.

If only the hot shots on the other channels would be so tough when they interview their darling Obama.

Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. As vice president, Biden has been a loyal supporter of the Obama administration’s

Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs. It is always worthwhile to revisit de Tocqueville’s description of what he called the

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

The Bill Clinton White House angered a black congressman in 1993 after he was forced to show his ID and submit to a search of his car before Secret Service would allow him to enter the White House for a meeting with then-Vice President Al Gore. A white driver taking Ohio Democratic Rep. Louis Stokes to his meeting was admitted without an ID-check. A staffer´s memo to Clinton a week later warned the president about the incident before a scheduled photo-op including Stokes and the mayor of a Cleveland suburb. Stokes, a legend in the civil-rights history of Ohio´s populous

The Department of Health and Human Services is proposing a rule that would, if implemented, guarantee that even more Americans who like their health insurance plans cannot keep them. Fixed indemnity plans, which pay insured customers a set amount towards medical expenses and are often cost-effective relative to more comprehensive health insurance, are popular forms of coverage, and potentially becoming more popular in the wake of Obamacare. Health insurance industry representatives say that fixed indemnity plans have been attracting more interest as many Americans look for a

Parents in El Paso, Texas were outraged over an “inappropriate” homework assignment given to fourth graders at Pasodale Elementary School. Students were asked to read passages about a wife discovering her husband cheated and a mother finding out her military son was killed. They then had to answer questions about the adult-themed topics. Read some of the assignment below: Valerie opened up the letter from the military department. She felt the pit of her stomach drop to the bottom of the earth before she even opened it. She knew it was news about John. As she read the first line,

Senator Harry Reid came under fire for saying Thursday that supporters of Cliven Bundy are “domestic terrorists,” and in a TV appearance today he doubled down. He appeared on local Nevada program What’s Your Point? with Dean Heller, Nevada’s other senator, and stood by his remarks, calling Bundy’s supporters “domestic violent terrorist wannabes.” Reid said that Bundy “doesn’t believe that the American government is valid” and doesn’t follow the law, bringing up how hundreds of people showed up armed to defend Bundy to argue that they’re basically engaging in an act of domestic terrorism. “600 people came. Armed.

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
