Only in America would a singer who insults a U.S. President (Lyndon Johnson) as “a big fool” in song be awarded the National Medal of the Arts by a U.S. President (Bill Clinton), hailed as a “Living Legend” by the U.S. Library of Congress, and be invited to play at a U.S. Presidential inauguration (Barack Obama’s.) Spanning between South Nyack in Rockland County and Tarrytown in Westchester County in the Lower Hudson Valley is the Governor Malcolm Wilson Tappan Zee Bridge, usually referred to as The Tappan Zee Bridge. The original bridge was named after a Pro-Life professional politician of 36 years and New York Governor from December 18, 1973, to December 31, 1974 Malcolm Wilson. A number of current Politicians and "Green" activists including the famous Occupy Wall Street gang are favoring renaming the parallel new bridge after Pete Seeger. Some think that because Seeger fought to save the river from pollution, naming the new bridge for him would inspire people who travel across it to keep the river clean. Unfortunately here in New York we have some of the most baby´s killed while in their mothers in the United States. Apparently, that inspiration idea idea does not work. Might I suggest we keep the old name for the new bridge. If we keep our eyes open for a "Blue Light Special" we could paint the bridge red and save some money on the signage. It will make a pretty postcard for the tourists. Look at what happened with our renaming the Triboro Bridge to Robert Fitgerald Kennedy Bridge. Listen to the daily trafic reports,"Another accident today at the Triboro with a 2 mile backup..."

Anthony Weiner can’t even manage to play nice on the playground. The scandal-ridden mayoral primary loser — who reportedly flipped the finger after delivering his concession speech — was spotted at Union Square Park playground with his and Huma Abedin’s son, Jordan Zain, on Thursday when another child had an accident and peed on a swing. We’re told the father grabbed his kid and went to find a napkin to clean up, as Weiner made his way over to the exact swing. A spy tells us Weiner was heard screaming, “Thanks for leaving this thing soaking wet.” “

Tuesday´s elections will sweep in new leadership for Los Angeles´ 3.8 million residents, but the races are likely to be decided by an older, whiter and more educated fraction of the city´s population. Latinos, the city´s dominant ethnic group and a key voting bloc, make up 44% of the city´s population, U.S. Census figures show. But a USC Price/Los Angeles Times poll of likely voters last week suggests Latinos will make up 24% of those who cast ballots Tuesday, in part because many are immigrants who are ineligible to vote.

The world’s choice of Sochi, Russia, is suddenly looking like a risky bet for the 2014 Winter Olympics, and not only because of its lush subtropical climate. The resort town on the Black Sea borders a hotbed of international terror. It’s right next door to Georgia, which Russia invaded during the 2008 Summer Olympics, and not far from Chechnya, the homeland of last week’s Boston bombers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsaraev. The Games begin in February. “Wrong place, wrong time,” warns Paul Goble, a specialist on the mountainous Caucasus region, about the Sochi Olympics.

A few days ago an agreement was reached between Belgrade and Pristina on Kosovo. Western media have called it a historic event. However, in Serbia many saw it as a betrayal of the national interests. While the government is trying to justify the de facto recognition of Kosovo´s independence, the opposition strongly condemns this act. Head of the Democratic Party Vojislav Kostunica has called on his supporters to deploy peaceful struggle with violence against Serbia. Ultimately, the de facto recognition of Kosovo by Serbia may have serious consequences for the entire region.

Obama´s herd control is a masterpiece. He already can lie and have millions believe him. For those who do not follow him or are slow to worship him other tactics are necessary. Chaos has escalated each day after Obama was first elected. Tragedies have increased in America and the end is nowhere in sight. Some have already blamed Chechnya or Russia for the Boston bombings as though all Muslims are that unified. It is doubtful the Chechens want to cause trouble in the US especially since Obama is doing such a good job there. FYI and simply put to the West: The Chechen people were sent to Siberia

According to the federal discrimination lawsuit which was filed on Wednesday, the employee repeatedly told the brothers that their jeans, hooded sweatshirts and baseball caps violated an alleged first-class dress code.

Questions about the deaths of four Americans, including a U.S. Ambassador, posed to Obama and his spokespeople have been met with vague, carefully worded, well parsed and deliberately misleading responses. Why? To cover up incompetence and intelligence failures? No, because there were no intelligence failures!

A new review is questioning the effectiveness of two key drugs enlisted in the fight against influenza and in turn the investments by governments to stockpile the drugs in the event of a global flu outbreak. The antiviral drugs Tamiflu (oseltamivir) and Relenza (zanamivir ) are commonly used to treat influenza in healthy adults and children. In the case of Tamiflu, the drug does shorten symptoms of influenza by about half a day - as the manufacturer suggests - but there is insufficient evidence to support claims that it reduces hospital admissions or serious complications, such as confirmed pneumonia or

Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle.
