Outside GOP groups turn in weak
2013 fundraising reports

USA Today, by Fredreka Schouten

Original Article

Posted By:mikkins2, 2/2/2014 8:23:05 AM

Fundraising has tumbled for several leading Republican super PACs as the 2014 election season heats up. Three groups affiliated with Republican strategist Karl Rove — American Crossroads, Crossroads GPS and the Conservative Victory Project — took in $6.1 million in 2013. That´s a sharp drop from 2012 when American Crossroads alone raised $99.1 million as it sought, unsuccessfully, to put the White House and Senate in Republican hands. Crossroads spokesman Jonathan Collegio said the group would have the money to compete in November´s elections. Republicans control the House and need to pick up six seats to win the majority in the Senate.

Comments:
My favorite line is when the guy said that Republican donors have become too "complacent".

Yeah that´s it! They have become "complacent" with forking out money just to see it wasted on losing candidates!

Got Tea?

After Rove pi***d away over $300 million in 2012 with nothing to show for it, I´m surprised anyone donated a dime.

If I wanted to be fast tracked into oblivion and communism I´d give my disposable income directly to the party that can get it done.
Why waste money on the party of democrat ´lites´.
I don´t think there´s anything conservative about the Republican party and Immigration Reform is the silver bullet that will finish the RINO party off.

Over the past few years, I´ve noticed the following post from many Ldotters (paraphrasing): "I´m done with donating to the republican elites. I´m only going to donate to individual candidates."

Seems many have acted true to their words. I noticed an article recently where money is flowing into Ted Cruz´s coffers: As I remember, forty some thousand individuals donated less than $100.00 to Cruz, and a good portions of those had NEVER donated to any candidate before.

Way to go Americans! We ain´t dead yet!

Maybe the GOP wants it´s base to disappear and continues to insult us until the rest of it does.

It seems congressional Republicans may have, once again, been talked off the ledge, and convinced to crawl back in the window on immigration reform. For now, at least, they are off suicide watch. But it seems every year or two the American people need to intervene, grab them by the ear, and drag them kicking and screaming away from the window again. It may be, however, that they´re not suicidal after all. Rather, consciously or not, the GOP leadership may have come to realize they´re already dead. The most popular explanation for Republicans´ recent support for amnesty has been pressure from

In the middle of 2013, a French journalist asked me who I thought was today’s outstanding center-right head of government. After a few moments’ thought, I responded: “She died in April. Requiescat in pace.” Looking around the world, the search for what might be called a full-spectrum conservative government leader was, until recently, a depressing exercise. On many issues, Britain’s Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron seems positively ill-at-ease with most of his own MPs (and certainly grass-roots Tories) who are more-than-a-few clicks to the right of him. Across the Channel, most European center-right governments are pursuing policies best described as

Citizens on the left and right agree that the government is in dire need of reform. So why are the political parties, including the Tea Party, of so little help when it comes to working for legitimate reform? Walking across New Hampshire last month, recruiting citizens in the “Live Free” state to the cause of fundamental reform—a 185 mile walk that we just finished, with about a hundred crossing the finishing line: read more here—I met a man who told me he was a “conservative Republican,” which, as he explained is “spelled ‘T E A P A R T Y.’”

Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham battled the rest of the Fox News Sunday panel over immigration, arguing that immigration reform and current enforcement of immigration laws were weakening the American workforce, even as her fellow panelists countered that reform would bolster the economy. “I think what we’re seeing here is a split inside the Republican Party between two staunch conservatives,” host Chris Wallace said, going on to ply Ingraham with a Wall Street Journal editorial that called flinching on reform “de facto amnesty.” “As far as I can tell, the Wall Street Journal is on the side of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer,

A Republican senator facing a Tea Party challenger this year revealed that he doesn´t live in his home state, an admission likely to fuel an opposition that has already accused him of going native in the nation´s capitol. “I have full access to the recliner,” Sen. The American left has never had it this good. It has never had two terms of an unabashed and uncompromising leftist in the White House dedicated to its agenda functioning as a dictator without the military uniform, making and unmaking laws at a whim, siccing the IRS and Federal prosecutors on political enemies and transforming the country at a breathtaking pace. Obama is what generations of the left have dreamed of and worked toward. This is the flicker of hopethey kept alive after JFK’s assassination, the Nixon years, Carter’s collapse and the long stretch of Reaganomics. This is what Bill Clinton

Gen. George McClellan commanded Union forces during the Civil War. He famously and constantly retreated across the map despite having larger forces than Gen. Robert E. Lee. At one point, meeting with his generals in the White House, Abraham Lincoln commented, "If General McClellan does not want to use the army, I would like to borrow it for a time." Ultimately, Abraham Lincoln dismissed him. Gen. McCellan seems alive and well, having returned as the senior consultant to the Republican leadership on Capitol Hill. After Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives in January 2011, they fought a significant fight against

One of the reasons the national Republican Party is such a mess is because Republicans are far too reluctant to criticize their own. Republicans are nice people. Too many Republicans think it´s wrong to criticize other Republicans.{SNIP}Here is wisdom: if you, as a Republican, remain true to small-government principles, many of your worst enemies will be found in your own party, and they are likely to be much more vicious, petty, vindictive, and malicious than most of your adversaries on the left.

Will House Republican leaders bring up immigration reform after their primary season is over? Conservatives aggressively oppose the idea. While they acknowledged Wednesday that there were rumors to that effect, they warned Republicans would severely damage their relationship with their constituents if that strategy is tried. "When there is the rumor that immigration is going to be worked on after the filing deadline for primaries, everybody believes that at home. Because they think that the establishment, K Street, is going to pull that stunt because they don´t trust them," Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan., told the Washington Examiner. Rep. For instance, Alaska ranks second best in terms of economic equality (just behind Wyoming) while New York and the District of Columbia compete for dead last. Frankly, I don´t much care about the issue of income inequality beyond

According to two people present at the lunch and two others familiar with the session, Boehner said the maneuver would likely force Democrats to join with Republicans and also win support from conservatives, who have been upset about changes to the military´s cost-of-living benefits, which were adjusted in December. It´s no surprise that Barack Obama´s authoritarian streak is revealing itself at last. It was always there; clearly apparent in his rhetoric (e.g., his envy of Chinese president Xi Jin-ping´s powers), his abuse of executive orders, his threats against Congress, his sultan with fly-whisk attitudes toward his opposition, and even his vacations, which reek more of third-world trash gamboling on the Riviera than any American leader (George W. Bush settled his mind by clearing brush in Texas, Reagan at his ranch in Santa Barbara. Obama unfortunately finds the brush already cleared in Martha´s Vineyard and Hawaii.)

President Obama has repeatedly suspended parts of the Affordable Care Act without the consent of Congress. The latest unilateral action happened Monday night, when the administration announced another delay of the employer mandate, the law´s provision that businesses with more than 50 employees must provide their employees with insurance starting in 2014 or pay large fines. In July, the president decreed the mandate wouldn´t be enforced at all in 2014, and last night administration officials declared that businesses with 50 to 99 employees wouldn´t be penalized in 2015. Michelle Obama´s lust for luxury has always been a bit of a problem for her husband and Democrats in general.
