‘Run, Sandra, run!’ Democrati

New York Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney wholeheartedly endorsed a rumored congressional campaign by birth control advocate Sandra Fluke, saying she’d make a “terrific” candidate and urging her to “run, Sandra, run!” Maloney made the comments during an appearance on MSNBC Friday, after the anchor asked her thoughts on the announced retirement of twenty-term New York Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman. The lawmaker noted that Waxman’s retirement is part of a broader trend in Congress, where many legislators are leaving in frustration over Capitol gridlock. “There’s a frustration of inability to work together to get things done,” she explained. But Maloney became excited at the

Of course the disgusting Maloney would love Fluke to run. These women in the Democrat party are abrasive and obnoxious. I wouldn´t want to spend one minute around any of them.

"twenty-term New York Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman spent those 40 years representing the former 30th and 29th districts of California, and currently the 33rd Congressional District -- which cover the quaint hamlets of west L.A., West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica. The self-styled “civil rights” organization Southern Poverty Law Center, which despite mounting controversy maintains some links to government agencies, released a bizarre and factually challenged screed attacking critics and opponents of the deeply controversial United Nations plot known as Agenda 21. Apparently unfamiliar with the definition of basic words such as “conspiracy” and “theory,” or with the UN plan itself, the SPLC also lashed out at “activist groups,” “mainstream politicians,” voters, “extremists,” and others who question or oppose the UN agenda for what it calls “sustainable development” in the United States.

Elected officials from across the American West, from top lawmakers to county commissioners, held a historic gathering in Utah in recent days to discuss how Western states could wrest control of the almost 50 percent of land in the region currently claimed by the federal government. Aside from constitutional concerns — with a few exceptions, the U.S. Constitution does not authorize ownership or control over land by the political class in Washington, D.C. — the Western leaders and legislators cited economic harm, environmental degradation, loss of tax revenue, and numerous other reasons for the effort.

“Freedom.” We use that word a lot. Do we all really know what that word means? It’s used in so many different ways. Do we understand how it is attained? Most importantly, do we understand how it is used by some to actually take freedom away? Simply put, freedom is the ability to act without hindrance or restraint. Freedom is owning your life, your actions, your labor. We say we support the “principles” of freedom. But what are those principles and where did they come from? First of all, we must understand principles are not legislated or invented. Principles are discovered.

Now that Obamacare is, in Chris Wallace’s generous phrasing this past Sunday, “not an unmitigated disaster,” attention is turning to how conservatives will deal with the cognitive dissonance of a law they swore would collapse functioning about according to plan. While lawmakers are stepping slowly back from repeal rhetoric to find an alternative, some pundits are going with the “pound the table” strategy and amplifying their original, now disproven, claims. That brings us to Steve Doocy, who managed to cram about as much untruth as humanly possible into one monologue on Fox & Friends this morning: Also, this is not good

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. There is nothing like it in the democracies of Europe, which came into being with nations already carved up into private fiefdoms.
