After watching President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address on Tuesday night, a group of African-Americans were asked for their thoughts on the speech. Their reactions were not favorable toward the president. Most said they believed that their conditions had not greatly improved over the course of his presidency with one of the interviewees even saying that Obama should resign. According to J.R. Flemming, a member of Chicago’s anti-eviction campaign, the speech was the “same old, same old” and “a bunch of talk and rhetoric to give favor to a dying economy in America.” “And the reason why our

Its a start. Hopefully, these guys will go out in their community and "spread the word". The black communities more than likely will not listen to a white Repub. But, they will listen to someone from the anit-eviction campaign.

#1 its never too late. Keep up the fight.

I guess they´re finally figuring out that they were duped and used. Zippy never meant to do anything for them, he only wanted their votes. How does it feel to be treated like a used condom?

Zippy is the one person on the planet who could use his position to do something positive about all of the gang violence in Chicago, but he never utters a word about it. That is one of the biggest shames in his 5 plus years of momentous shames.

Liberal Democrats never intend to actually do anything to solve, or help, a problem.

They talk and talk and talk.

I would hope African-Americans start to realize they are following a bunch of liberal Democrats the last 50 years who have NO INTENTION of changing your situation.

After all, you´re situation gives them something to complain about, and to make you feel they´re "trying". How´s that 50 years of trying worked out?

Also, most Blacks aren´t liberal either.

80% of the country isn´t liberal, but the majority of elected Democrats are.

Republicans aren´t the enemy. Maybe it´s time to vote Republican and see how things might improve.

“And the reason why our economy is dying is the president’s approach is always to place blame,” he continued. “It’s not the 1 percent problem, it’s not the 99 percent problem, it’s an American problem. And the problem is patronage, nepotism and cronyism.”

Nailed it! Thank you brother!

Ayn Rand would have loved that quote, and the speaker is perfectly correct. Socialism is entirely based on cronyism and its closer cousin nepotism. Jobs and benefits are distributed not on the basis of merit or who does the best job, but on the basis of Who You Know. This is what Ayn called the Politics of Pull. And she called the politicians who pushed for this way of doing things "pull-peddlers." Everyone dependent on everyone else, no free initiative, no hard work or creativity, just being chained to whims of every other human being for life.

I am tempted to go distribute some copies of Atlas!

This thing with too many blacks in jail is the latest attempt to rack up points with them. I´ll bet alot of the ones he let´s out of jail on some sort of clemency are probably not welcomed back by their community. Before these people went to jail on "harmless´ crimes, they probably robbed everybody they knew, especially old trusting grandparents who were relieved to see them in jail.

The left is trying to cultivate latinos into become a political monolith like black people. One of the problems with this is latinos believe in a normal family structure.

There´s a reason latinos aren´t lining up for Obamacare. I´m not sure what they are but it was devise dto pluck them off as voters.

A federal appeals court on Tuesday said that the Justice Department did not provide good enough reason to withhold documents related to its investigation into former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. The appeals court overturned a district court ruling that had allowed Justice to withhold documents related to its case against DeLay. It remanded the decision back to the district court, which will give the Justice Department another opportunity to argue why the documents should not be released. The documents were requested by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) in 2010 under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

In a speech on the Senate floor Tuesday, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said free enterprise isn´t always best. Government must step in. "The free enterprise system is a strong system," he said, but it "created unfairness and injustice when it came to health care, which we are addressing with this Affordable Care Act." In passing that law, Durbin said Democrats "rejected the free enterprise approach to health care and said let´s have something that basically respects families." He also criticized Republicans for embracing free enterprise: "Let me tell you a free enterprise idea when it came to health care. Before

The Republican National Committee says they’re no longer going to be cornered into a one-color scheme — so they’re adding a little blue. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus this week unveiled a new “GOP” logo that features a blue “O” with an elephant in it. “Now Democrats will be the party of red, which is much more in line with their record and values. After all, they are the party of red tape, red lines and red ink,” he said. Blue and red have become short-hand for the Democratic and Republican parties, respectively, but Mr. Priebus said those associations are misplaced.

JERUSALEM — U.S. Secretary of State John F. Kerry is canceling a planned trip to Ramallah on Wednesday to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas amid new threats from the Palestinian leader to circumvent U.S.-backed peace talks with Israel. Kerry had planned to make an emergency trip to Abbas’s West Bank headquarters in hopes of announcing a breakthrough, according to a senior State Department official. An official familiar with the talks had said earlier Tuesday that negotiators were discussing in broad outline a plan that would require Israel to slow settlement construction and release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. There, Democrats appeared to have a strong candidate in Rep. Bruce Braley, who has cleared his primary field. Republicans, meanwhile, face a contentious primary with a number of candidates who have never won races for statewide or federal office.
