Rep. Ryan: GOP Looking at Legal
Status, Chance for Citizenship

Wall Street Journal, by Laura Meckler

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 1/29/2014 9:33:58 PM

Rep. Paul Ryan (R., Wis.), a leading GOP advocate for tackling immigration, confirmed Wednesday that Republicans are looking to give illegal immigrants legal status right away, with the chance for a green card—and citizenship—down the line. Officials familiar with the planning had said as much before. But Mr. Ryan is the first member of the GOP leadership to lay out the Republican vision publicly. At issue is how to handle more than 11 million people already in the U.S. illegally. Most House Republicans oppose the Senate approach, whereby all qualified illegal immigrants would first win legal status, then have the

Comments:
Ryan wanted to "make sure that the Obama administration went ahead with the enforcement provisions. “We want to make sure that we write a law that he can’t avoid...” Really?? How can you write a law 0bama can´t avoid?? He does what he wants and will not enforce whatever he chooses! How can they be so stupid to fall into the trap of the Democrats? It´s infuriating!

Ryan is a fool! There are enough laws on the books concerning illegals...use them.
The cost of health care would not be as high as it is today if all the illegals were not in this country. Look at social security payments to illegals; look at Fed tax refunds going to illegals---when 1,000s of returns go to the same address, something is wrong.
The illegals come here wanting everything free, pay no taxes and make demands. Emboldened by this administration they are getting louder in their demands, and want more funds coming their way. ICE is begging Congress for one to use COMMON SENSE and lock down the borders. How many muslim brotherhood members are here, how many islamic jihadist are here. They will all automatically get citizenship.

Who was it on this site who said, "I think Paul Ryan would make a wonderful Speaker of the House"? Yeah right!! He is such a good representative of all Republicans.

Like the rest of the Tea Party Conservatives I can´t wait for November 2014.

See that big peninsula under the US?

That´s Mexico. It´s a sovereign nation.

See all those people streaming across the porous border? Those are Mexicans ie people who belong in Mexico.

If Mexico allows its productive segment to flee, Mexico will never advance. If the US allows Mexicans to take jobs in a vast shadow economy, it will continue to watch its wealth transferred out one wire at a time and tax paying US citizens will be permanently second choice for employers.

It´s really that simple.

With current immigration LAW being totally unenforced, what kind of idiot thinks future law will be enforced? With Obama we know he cherry picks the enforcement provisions of current law, and so with additional immigration law on the books, he´ll cherry pick that too to where the simultaneous and so-called tough provisions Rep. Ryan might argue are in the bill will simply be ignored by people like Obama. And future liberal congresses will simply delete the tough provisions in their effort to be so compassionate, as well as seek more Democrat voters. It´s all a croc. We have porous borders and the nation is not secure nor living with anything close to real constitutional law anymore. It´s sickening.

Can I add that I have a hard time thinking Rep. Ryan is either naive, somewhat foolish or both. We forget he has been in there 7 terms. He is another one who left college and has done nuthin but government "service." He is lusting after the Speakership. IMHO, Rep. Ryan is not a fool. He thinks WE are and since he listens to Boehner, thinks they will get by with this..

The Establishment Republicans believe that a huge number of Hispanic voters are going to rally to the Republican column and vote Republican in the next election, but only if the Republicans help the liberal Democrats pass what amounts to a big amnesty for illegal aliens. That is big time fool´s gold!

The vast majority of Hispanic voters throughout the USA who have been reliable Democrat voters for ages are working class people, if they can even find a job these days, and most are poor and generally uneducated people. Large numbers of them access government provided social welfare benefits and services to survive. The Democrats have always sucked up their votes by promising them new rights and access to expanded social welfare benefits and services along with further liberalizing the immigration laws. Those reliable Hispanic voters consider the Republicans to be the political party of the boss man class and know that the Republicans are always attempting to either limit or completely eliminate the social welfare benefits and services that they need to survive.

Give me one reason why those reliable Hispanic Democrat voters would ever vote Republican after watching the Republicans again abandon their principles and facilitate another amnesty? It is just not going to happen!

Bottom line, the Republicans are toying with committing long term political suicide and the liberal Democrats are just waiting to push them off the cliff.

When even good guys like Paul Ryan end up drinking the kool-aid and succumbing to the Left´s false premises, it is hard to avoid the conclusion that the GOP is already the Whigs and a third party (Earl Grey, anyone?) is already in the cards.

Baracka Hussein Obama Soetoro cannot be trusted with executing any of the exiting Laws of the USA. In the case of Amnesty for 20-30 million Democrat voter-mendicants he is very likely just enforce selectively the parts of the law he likes. Ryan blew the budget spending caps and now wants millions more clients for Obamacare? We cannot this while we have 50,000,000 of our own moochers on ObamaStamps and Obamaphones.

Ryan is a social justice guy. His agenda in that respect is going to be very expensive for the average American who actually does pay taxes in this country.

Just look at one aspect of amnesty and vastly increased immigration on into the future. After those tens of millions of mostly poor and uneducated aliens are granted a legal immigration status, the plan is to allow them to bring their close foreign relatives, spouses and children, into the USA in unlimited numbers. That means potentially millions of non English speaking foreign children suddenly arriving and having to be accommodated in the public schools in any location where their parents decide to settle. Just wait until Obama tells those cities, towns, and states that they will have to fund the building of a large number of new public schools and hire large numbers of bilingual teachers. Who do you think is going to pay for all that expense? And that is just one aspect of what is going to happen, oh well the Democrats will eventually end up with many millions of new foreign born voters and the Republicans will be able to flood the legal US job market with cheap foreign labor, that´s the politician´s real objective on all this, with the average American who actually does pay taxes paying for all that.

There has been a chorus of criticism--and ridicule--surrounding President Barack Obama´s response to Russia´s impending annexation of Crimea. Having failed, after several long telephone conversations, to deter Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Obama is now responding with sanctions against seven--seven--individuals in the Russian government. Charles Krauthammer called Obama´s response "humiliating," and it certainly is. But say this for Obama: he is keeping his campaign promise. In 2008, Obama repeatedly promised something called "tough diplomacy" with America´s rivals. "I will initiate tough diplomacy with our enemies," he promised in May 2008, adding that he would meet them "without preconditions although with preparation." Obama
