Fox’s Erickson Responds to Greta
with Graphic Abortion Description

Mediaite, by Andrew Kirell

On Tuesday evening, Fox contributor Erick Erickson responded to Greta Van Susteren‘s blog post calling him a “jerk” with a blog post of his own. In a RedState post, Erickson gave thanks to Van Susteren for turning the country’s attention to “abortion lover” and Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, by way of attacking him. Van Susteren was incensed by several of Erickson’s tweets referring to Davis as “Abortion Barbie” and using condescending language towards the female lawmaker. “I don’t care how much you disagree or agree with Texas’ Wendy Davis, you have to agree that this guy, Erick Erickson, is a real

Neither this article nor their original article regarding Greta vs. Erickson explains why Greta is so upset. Does she object to name "Barbie" or is she upset that Erickson has rightly pointed out that Davis is a one-issue wonder? Either way, the name fits and if Erickson was the one who started it, then thank you Erick Erickson!

Greta is a liberal on so-called "women´s issues."

The only reason she ever buddied up with Sarah Palin was that she perceived the outcry against Palin as sexist.

She perceives telling the truth about Wendy Davis in the same light.

It´s time to realize that many of the hosts on Fox News are not conservatives.

Erickson has always been a stand up guy, said what he believed and why he believed it. Can´t say the same for Van Susteren.
As I recall, he lost his gig on Fox TV for telling the truth liberals didn´t want to hear.

No one will ever err calling EE a jerk. One of his favorite sports is p--ssing off other conservatives. He is also one of those conservative commentators, along with Michael Savage et al., who have absolutely no right to breathe one word of criticism of Obama since they unrelentingly savaged Romney (and probably McCain though I couldn´t swear to it) even after the nomination. Not that that inhibits them in the least.

On the other hand, he is gossipy and fun to listen to and I appreciate his graphic descriptions of abortion in the interest of enlightening the public. So, what can you say! (sigh)

I don´t much care for Greta Van Susteren. However, she has not been silent on the Wendy Davis story. She´s had several panels and opinion pieces, in addition to having Greg Abbott on at least once, and I believe twice.

I am, however, also not a big fan of Erickson, so let them have at it and may be the best one win.

Regardless of whether or not one happens to like or dislike the person speaking - the truth remains the truth. Erickson is speaking the truth. I like Greta, but she is wrong here.

The Left has been so successful at commandeering the language and preventing discussion of this horrific evil in anything other than euphemisms that abortion is accepted as just another medical procedure in the minds of much of the public. Erickson´s graphic language is unfortunately what it will take to bring an awareness of the harsh reality.

Has "Abortion Barbie" ever explained the difference between the late-term abortions she championed in her pink sneakers and the illegal killings at the Gosnell abortion clinic?

Her pink sneakers brought a wave of favorable coverage of her stance on abortion. There was very little coverage of the Gosnell trial although it was connected to her filibuster, and then only after commentary about the lack of coverage. As one headline noted back then, "if only Kermit Gosnell had worn pink sneakers".

I guess it wasn´t enough for the mainstream media that Gosnell´s shoes were red from innocent blood.

I should be embarrassed to admit how stupid I am. Right up until this moment I´ve had Erick Erickson, the Red State Guy, confused with Erick Bolling [sp], the guy on The Five.

I always thought the guy on The Five was named Erickson, and could never figure out why everyone here and at other sites were so down on him when I think he´s great. Now I finally figured out who is who.

And yeah, Greta is completely and totally wrong about this. Eirck Erickson may be the biggest jerk on the planet for all I know, but he´s completely within bounds to mock Abortion Barbie and say any ugly and mean thing about her [as long as it´s true] that he pleases, and if Grta doesn´t like it, she doesn´t have to have him on her show, and she doesn´t have to read his tweets. She can just go on and mind her own business.

Erickson should ask Greta about her husband Bhopal John Coale: (from Wikipedia)

Van Susteren married tort lawyer John P. Coale in 1988. Coale, a self-described "ambulance chaser", became known as "Bhopal Coale" for his solicitation of clients among victims of the Bhopal disaster.

The Bhopal disaster, also referred to as the Bhopal gas tragedy, was a gas leak incident in India, considered the world´s worst industrial disaster. It occurred on the night of 2–3 December 1984 at the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) pesticide plant in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Over 500,000 people were exposed to methyl isocyanate gas and other chemicals. The toxic substance made its way in and around the shanty towns located near the plant. Estimates vary on the death toll. The official immediate death toll was 2,259. The government of Madhya Pradesh confirmed a total of 3,787 deaths related to the gas release. Others estimate 8,000 died within two weeks and another 8,000 or more have since died from gas-related diseases.

Media and particularly cable news has never been as polarized as it is today. It’s also never been tilted more towards opinion and less toward objective reporting of hard news. As a result, trust in media has fallen to an all-time low. Reporters in particular are looked upon as dishonest brokers in the business, with Gallup showing only 20 percent of those polled finding journalists honest and ethical (that’s 65 percent lower than nurses, 50 percent lower than doctors and engineers). Solid investigative reporters are simply in short supply and demand. Why? Because with opinion programming so much cheaper to produce
