WaPo columnist: Hey, Monica Lewinsky

Via RCP, here’s one more in the long list of reasons to dread Hillary’s inevitable nomination. It also makes it inevitable that America’s going to refight this old battle, replete with enlightened progressives — many of them women — grasping for ways on television to dismiss presidential intern-shtupping with variations of “she was good to go.” In fairness, Marcus gets points for degree of difficulty here, framing this defense of the Clenis as a knock on the GOP for allegedly viewing women through some sort of virgin/whore lens. In other words, Rand Paul’s critique, which was designed to parry the

Comments:
Are liberal journalists really this dense or do they believe we, the readers, are. Monica Lewinsky´s behavior is beside the point. I listened to Krauthammer last night saying the GOP should leave Bill´s scandals alone because it generates sympathy for Hillary. He comes with her, if she arrives in the White House. I don´t want him there. Well, her either.

Bill Clinton is lucky as hell he wasn´t married to MO at the time of the scandal.Sure he had some lamps and ashtrays thrown at him but it was nowhere near the damage an outraged MO would have dished on his honky ass.

But seriously, how many deranged couples such as the Clintons and Obamas come along within such a short space of each other. None of these 4 people have any redeeming qualities to speak of.I mean who cares that the taxpayers have to subsidize the girl´s own grandmother to be their watchdog.I´ll bet a hundred bucks the girls are realizing they´ve been nothing but political props for their parents. They´re probably a big reason he got re-elected.

I can halfway understand Bubba´s weakness for Monica and it´s not like his wife was a beauty queen. But it really obscured all his other misdeeds in office which lead to a lot of deadly consequences.

How many millions of dollars have taxpayers choked on so Obama can travel around to promote his latest, non workable schemes but Christie can´t use federal funds to promote his states tourist industry.

Maybe Monica wasn´t the innocent victim, but Paula Jones and Juanita Broderick were. How about the Miss Arkansas who was attacked in the back of Bubba´s car? She was a cornered victim. Bubba and Eric Holder pardoned the husband of his lover Denise Rich who owed millions in back taxes. Let´s not get started on his "victims".

To put things in simple terms: President Clinton partook of what was offered to him, but he groomed her for the occasion. Hillary Clinton went to his defense, when she knew from the outset that he was guilty. After all, Hillary had past experience with ´bimbo eruptions´ and she was experienced with the smears necessary to tamp the furor down early. They are both part and parcel of the same ilk; two liars in a pod. He perpetrates the crime and she covers it up, while wearing a pink suit and feigning her innocence.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Wild West tradition of openly carrying your six-shooter on the street has long been banned in Texas under state law. But the next governor could change that. Rising Democratic star and gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis has joined her top Republican rival in supporting a proposed "open carry" law. It would allow people with concealed handgun licenses to wear a pistol on their hip, in full view, while in public. Davis has said she supports expanding gun rights in Texas. In a statement to The Associated Press, she said that includes open-carry — a position that puts her at

The Democratic Party’s biggest super PAC, recently retooled as an early pro-Hillary Clinton effort, will sit out the midterm elections this year. A spokesman with the group, Priorities USA Action, confirmed to BuzzFeed on Wednesday night that it would not be involved in House or Senate campaigns. “House Majority PAC and Majority PAC are doing everything right and making a real difference. We fully support their efforts,” said the spokesman, Peter Kauffmann, referring to the main groups supporting Democratic congressional candidates. Priorities USA, which operates under loose campaign finance rules that allow it to raise and spend unlimited sums, put $65 million behind

Dozens of Republican senators joined Wednesday to demand that Harry Reid allow a floor vote on a new Iran sanctions bill. If he doesn’t, they are planning to make his life miserable. The Republican Senate caucus is planning to use every parliamentary trick in the book to push Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to allow a floor vote on a new Iran sanctions bill that the Obama administration strenuously opposes. The Obama White House has succeeded in keeping most Democrats in line against supporting quick passage of the “Nuclear Weapon Free Iran Act,” which currently has 59 co-sponsors, including 13 Democrats. In light of Sunday’s open letter from Dylan Farrow, which resurfaced allegations that her adoptive father Woody Allen sexually assaulted her at age 7, the Internet continues to dig up disturbing stories about the celebrated writer and director’s relationship with children. Farrow coming forward follows a campaign by her mother, Mia, and brother, Ronan, to shine a brighter light on the accusations against Allen in the early nineties, around the time he left Mia for another of her adoptive daughters, Soon-Yi Previn, resulting in a hideous custody battle. Once considered tabloid scripture, the upsetting specifics had been largely forgotten, or

House Republicans have set up a new website focused on the Benghazi attack and the circumstances surrounding it that promises to bring the facts about the deadly assault “straight to the American people.” In a release announcing the website, Speaker John Boehner´s office says “House Republicans are leading the fight for answers and for justice” on the deadly terrorist assault that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. “To date, no one has been held accountable,” the release states. “The families of the fallen – and the American people – deserve to know the truth. Russia has ramped up physical security for the Winter Olympics in Sochi – bringing some 50,000 members of law enforcement to the city – but it can do little to combat the deluge of cyber attacks experienced by visiting journalists and tourists. On last night’s broadcast of the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, journalist Richard Engel described an experiment he tried with a security expert when he first arrived in Sochi: We took two brand new computers out of their boxes and connected them to the internet. In a minute, hackers were snooping around, trying to see how secure the machines

Keystone report from State Dept. puts

ENVIRONMENTALISTS HAVE drawn a line in the sand on the Keystone XL pipeline. It’s the wrong line in the wrong sand, far away from any realistic assessment of the merits — as yet another government analysis has confirmed. It’s past time for President Obama to set aside politics and resolve this bizarre distraction of an issue. The State Department’s latest study — the product of more than five years of investigation — largely confirms the conclusions of previous assessments and those of many independent energy experts: Allowing the firm TransCanada to build Keystone XL, which would run across the Canadian border

Bill O’Reilly’s interview with Barack Obama before the Super Bowl proved as unstimulating as the game. O’Reilly had hyped the interview as the equivalent of a momentous boxing match. With characteristic humility, he said it would be like when “two boxers go into the center of the ring, that is exactly the way it is when an alpha interviews an alpha.” The most interesting question came not from O’Reilly but from a viewer, who wanted to know: “Mr. President, why do you feel it’s necessary to fundamentally transform the nation that has afforded you so much opportunity and success?” Obama rejected

For reasons too boring to go into, I have recently inherited custodial duties of the family dog. When Buster first arrived, more than a decade ago, we spent a fair amount of time together. I took responsibility for training him with a rigorous program lasting several weeks. To this day, if you ask him to fetch, sit, roll over, shake hands—any of your basic doggie tasks—he will instantly lie down and close his eyes. In the early days I walked him a lot too. Time passed. Work obtruded. My wife, at home with young children, became Buster’s primary care giver.

This week, as John Kerry marks a year at the helm of the State Department, almost everyone in the Mideast is angry at him, while much of Washington is puzzled. The Americans are trying to make sense of the secretary of state’s reported belief that President Obama needs a new Syria policy because the current one has failed. Isn’t it Kerry’s job to produce that policy? But first let’s handle the anger, which mostly turns on Kerry’s nonstop push for an Israel-Palestine accord. Kerry sees this as so crucial that he’s visited the area more than any other spot and created the

News that Obamacare would cause the economy to shed 2.3 million jobs is being greeted with jubilation by some quarters. This was foreseen long ago. FactCheck.Org pointed out even in 2011 that unemployment is not the right word for the loss of remunerative activities caused by the program. The word’s not “unemployment”. “That’s a distortion. CBO said some Americans would work less or leave their jobs if they can get health insurance outside the workplace.” It’s not a bug. It’s a feature. Employment is a prison, didn’t you know? Nancy Pelosi exults that breadwinners now can escape the confines of “job-lock”.

The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Tuesday that the Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by 2.5 million over the next decade. That is mostly a good thing, a liberating result of the law. Of course, Republicans immediately tried to brand the findings as “devastating” and stark evidence of President Obama’s health care reform as a failure and a job killer. It is no such thing. The Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare, became law almost four years ago. It became operational last Oct. 1. Yesterday, Feb. 4, 2014, the ACA may well have been dealt its death blow. The Congressional Budget Office released a major study of the government’s budget and its effect on the overall economy over the next 10 years. In dull bureaucratic language, it delivers a devastating analysis of the inefficiencies, ineffectualities and problematic social costs of ObamaCare. The one-two punch: Virtually as many Americans will lack health coverage in 10 years as before the law was passed — but 2 million fewer

Mr. Obama wants Americans to believe that the targeting resulted from the confusing tax law governing nonprofits, which he says was "difficult" to interpret and resulted in mere "bureaucratic" mistakes.
