What Part Of ´Enough´ Don´t They Understand?
American Thinker, by Warren Beatty

Original Article

The U.S. Congress has raised the debt ceiling 78 times since 1960. Ronald Reagan oversaw the largest number of debt ceiling increases (17), and George W. Bush approved a near doubling of the debt ceiling during his two terms in office. Reagan raised the debt from $900 billion to $2.7 trillion, a 33.33% increase, and debt was 53.1% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Debt rose $4.899 trillion during the two terms of the George W. Bush presidency, an almost 100% increase, 84.2% of GDP. While Bush was no (economic) bargain, he has proven to be a piker when compared to Dear

Its not the word they don´t understand Mr. Beatty. The problem is that a lobbyist has not provided them with enough "incentive" to hear it.

Democrats and Republicans in the U.S. Congress are Thelma and Louise, driving off the cliff together hand in hand. Democrats are Susan Sarandon and Republicans are Geena Davis, but at this point, what difference does it make?

It is no longer a question of irresponsible spending. The only possible explanation is that they have no intention of ever paying back the debt. Its both parties and most politicians. Rather than live responsibly, they are trying to make sure we die with the most toys.

I would like to focus attention on the reply by Michael Steel in this article. It demonstrates why the Republicans can´t fight this. They don´t know how to debunk the Rat spin! Don´t just say we can´t pass a clean debt ceiling increase this time and lamely add that we won´t default or even get close to it! The whole proposition that a debt ceiling increase it needed eventually to avoid default must be debunked. The government currently has enough income to pay the interest on it´s debt. It is a simple matter of paying the debt first as the constitution demands! All other spending must be secondary and so 40% of the spending must be halted. This is a good thing and it is the only real step to avoid default. I have never heard any GOP make this point. As long as they fail to do so they will huff and puff and eventually cave and give Obama everything he wants to avoid default don´t you know! Communicate the TRUTH damm it or get out of the way!

Washington Post, by Niraj Chokshi    Original Article

Maine’s tea party governor, reared in poverty, is on a mission to reform the state’s welfare system. Gov. Paul LePage rolled out a four-proposal package on Monday that will get committee hearings in the legislature Tuesday afternoon. The reforms, which mostly tighten restrictions around the program, are part of an ongoing crusade against what LePage has described as a bloated program. “Big, expensive welfare programs riddled with fraud and abuse threaten our future,” he said in his state of the state speech last month. “Too many Mainers are dependent on government handouts. Government dependency has not — and never will— create prosperity.”

On Friday, the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund endorsed Matt Bevin, who is challenging Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in this May´s Kentucky Republican primary. Jenny Beth Martin, President of Tea Party Patriots and its Citizen Fund Super PAC, told the Washington Times, "Senator McConnell worked with the Obama Administration to raise taxes, has voted to raise the debt ceiling ten times, and has added pork barrel projects to further his own career instead of the needs of the American people." According to Ms. Martin, "That´s just not the kind of Senator Kentucky needs, and that´s another reason we are joining Tea Party members

One of the top Republican congressional staffers on the Benghazi investigation founded a consulting firm comprised of numerous former Clinton aides and a former CIA director accused of lying to Congress about the attack, Fox News reported Monday. J. Michael Allen is the founder and managing director of Beacon Global Strategies. He previously served as the staff director for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, chaired by GOP Rep. Contrary to rumors that the Tea Party is in demise, if Republicans gain control of the Senate and retain control of the House after November, the Tea Party versus establishment battle may just be getting started. Statistician Nate Silver gave the GOP a 60% chance of taking back the Senate, and the Los Angeles Times noted that the Tea Party is getting ready for its next phase of promoting policies to lower the debt and mitigate or repeal Obamacare. Grassroots conservatives, having given the GOP its House majority back in 2010, felt snubbed when the establishment tried to blunt their

A top Republican campaigning for immigration reform is warning that America needs at least 1 million more immigrants every year just for basic farming and construction jobs, not ban like some in the party are advocating. Actions speak louder than words, and Congress’ actions over 113th session demonstrate a bipartisan unwillingness to get runaway federal spending under control. An early indication was Congress’s actions on the Hurricane Sandy bill, a bloated, $50 billion pork-barrel spending bill that was ostensibly intended to help northeastern states recover from the storm. Due to its dubious emergency designation, spending in the bill didn’t count against the spending caps put in place by the 2010 Budget Control Act. Consequently, opportunistic Members of Congress from both political parties seized the chance to attach tens of billions

The 2012 Republican presidential nominee said Obama didn´t have the foresight to anticipate Russia´s moves and should have been working earlier with allies to make clear the penalties that Russia would face if it moved into Ukraine. A few weeks ago, I wrote about how the sweeping acceptance of gay marriage in recent years is owed in large part to Christianity. Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Western world has been working out the logic of these subversive teachings ever since, with the institutional transformation of marriage being the latest, though surely not the last, example of its social, moral,

A pair of potentially catastrophic cases will be argued before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. These cases are brought by privately held, for-profit corporations that are arguing their religious convictions should preclude them from offering employees the health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers don’t want to allow their employees’ insurance to cover some forms of birth control because, contrary to medicaland scientific evidence, they believe some birth control causes abortions. Corporations are not people. Corporations cannot have religious views. If religious rights are extended to corporations, it puts us on a slippery slope where any private company
