House Republicans to offer
own immigration reform plan

Arizona Republic [Phoenix, AZ], by Dan Nowicki & Daniel González

House Republican leaders plan to unveil their principles and outline their priorities on the politically potent issue of immigration reform this week, as President Barack Obama revisits the issue in his State of the Union address. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, expects the outline will help gauge which pieces of reform — increased border security, changes to the visa system, a pathway to citizenship and others — can win support from his House Republican Conference. Boehner intends to consider a series of immigration bills rather than the comprehensive legislation passed by the Democrat-controlled Senate last summer. Immigrant advocates are watching the process

Always the carrot dangled called "Increased Border Security (that never happens)..." No money to the GOP leadership, period! True track record Tea Party conservatives get my donations directly and everyone else should do the same. We, and this country are being sold out!

The fix is in. The Republican Establishment is going to sell out its conservative base hoping that the Latinos will make up for the loss of its conservative base.

The proof is right before us. They move the convention to limit the time grass root candidates have to raise money. They will also avoid having to be pinned down on immigration and after the convention within a months time will offer immigration reform hoping to get the Latino vote to swing their way to make up for the loss of the conservative base. Moving the convention gives them more time to prance before Latinos and pander for their vote. Why anyone would trust this bunch of conniving fools is beyond me.

And your still a Republican because...?

There has never been a "pathway to citizenship" included in any past amnesty. That is a recent liberal Democrat invention designed to further liberalize any amnesty that makes it out of the Congress by moving the amnesty goalpost away to the left. Then the liberal Democrats will blame the Republicans for moving the amnesty goalposts back if another garden variety amnesty comes to pass.

Another big change is the liberal Democrats inserting provisions that will pay the very liberal ethnic and immigrant rights groups to essentially chaperone the legalized aliens through a citizenship program that they intend as a "pathway" to ultimately register the vast majority of those foreign born people as New Democrat voters in the years ahead. Such provisions were also never included in any past legalization program.

This is all politics, as the Democrats know that they will eventually garner a huge number of new voters after such an amnesty and the Republicans just want to turn immigration reform into a "pathway" for millions of new foreign workers willing to work cheap so that they can enter the country and the legal US job market. All that does nothing for the average American, or the average American worker, who in accordance with the law of supply and demand is bound to experience a big wage depression as all those millions of foreign workers enter the US job market legally able to compete with American workers for just about every scarce job out there.

Fine, let´s do this piecemeal.
Step 1 - Finish the fence.
Step 2 - Get back with me if and when Step 1 is complete.

In the meantime, tax the daylights out of money orders traveling south.

I have here in my hand a list of six people who think Darrell Issa is a fellow traveler of Joseph McCarthy. I compiled these names while watching Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, lead his panel’s proceedings Thursday to hold former IRS official Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress. Among the half-dozen Democrats who made the comparison: “What we’re about today brings us right back to the McCarthy era,” Rep. Gerald Connolly (D-Va.) said. Rep. The Justice Department says a 29-foot war memorial cross on a San Diego mountain is not an unconstitutional promotion of Christianity and should remain on federal property. The Obama administration said an appeals court ruling declaring the cross on Mount Soledad a violation of the constitutional separation of church and state undermined an act of Congress and conflicted with recent Supreme Court decisions. But, in a filing Monday to the nation´s highest court, it said an appeal should first be considered by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals because there is no imminent risk that the cross is removed. A new report by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service finds that solar facilities in California are acting like “mega traps” that kill and injure birds. As a result, “entire food chains” are being disrupted. USFWS’s National Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory studied three solar farms in Southern California: Desert Sunlight, Genesis Solar and Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System (ISEGS). Two-hundred and thirty-three different birds from 71 species were found over the course of a two-year study. The three main causes of death were: 1. Solar flux: Exposure to temperatures over 800 degrees F. 2. Impact (or blunt force) trauma:

President Obama on Friday formally nominated Sylvia Mathews Burwell to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) following the botched resignation of Kathleen Sebelius. Burwell served in several positions under the Bill Clinton administration, including as a deputy aide to then-budget director Jack Lew. In July 1995, Burwell (then Sylvia Mathews) was one of several key aides questioned by the Senate Whitewater Committee regarding the death of deputy White House counsel Vince Foster. Foster’s death was officially ruled a suicide. The Clinton White House eventually admitted to misleading investigators

Climate change is one of the issues at the top of President Barack Obama’s agenda, and now it’s getting big budget treatment in Hollywood, at least by documentary standards. A nine-part series called “Years of Living Dangerously” will debut this Sunday evening on Showtime–emphasizing stories “from the front lines” of climate change impact. The first episode, now available online, stars actors Harrison Ford and Don Cheadle, two of the series’ correspondents. “It’s the biggest story out there,” said James Cameron, an executive producer of the series, in an interview. Sucking carbon dioxide out of the air might be used as a last-ditch attempt to stop global warming, UN scientists say. The technology is proposed as a ‘Plan B’ if Governments fail to cut carbon dioxide emissions by up to 70 per cent before 2050. Reducing greenhouse gases to manageable levels will cost up to four per cent of global GDP by 2030, according to a draft version of a report to be published in Berlin on Sunday by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). That would involve Britain and other nations increasing spending ten-fold on wind farms and other green

Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators. It only feels like it´s speeding up. Constrained by crises over which he has little power to impact events, hemmed in by a divided Congress more interested in scoring points with voters than in legislating, and watching as his potential successor assumes more and more of the political spotlight, Obama may be receding into history more quickly than either he or his aides ever anticipated.
