WaPo’s Ruth Marcus: ‘Thong Flashing’
Monica Lewinsky Was Asking for It

Mediaite, by Noah Rothman

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 1/27/2014 8:34:47 PM

On Monday, Ruth Marcus, left-leaning political columnist for the Washington Post, stepped on a rhetorical landmine. Or, that is, she would have if she was Ruth Marcus, right-leaning columnist for the Washington Post. Maybe former White House intern Monica Lewinsky was just asking for it? That is the impression that this headline and the selected pull quote will project. When Marcus was making a fairly anodyne statement about how female sexuality is routinely mischaracterized in the press when it involves a politician (intentionally so, I would submit), Marcus lamented how sexually active women are branded as either insatiably promiscuous predators

The Democrats´ hypocrisy is just stunning. At least Rothman points out in the very first paragraph that her comments would be treated very differently if she was a conservative columnist. To be very repetitive, we know what would happen if he had been a Republican president. They would still be screaming about it and it would be a part of every Democrats´ campaign.

Monica Lewinsky was 23 years old (July 23, 1973) on that December evening in 1996 just six years older than Bill Clinton´s teenage daughter. And, as we all learned in the annus horriblis 1998 she was a very young 23. Bill Clinton preyed on her and her naiveté.

Monica had no idea what she was getting into.

Wow, just wow. The saying of the Obama administration should be, "what if George W. Bush did that!?" Same with Clinton.

The more we get away from it, isn´t it incredible to realize what a class act George W. Bush was, compared to the sleaze that both preceded and succeeded him?Almost like a child reaching adulthood who suddenly realizes what his or her parents were. By the way, did GWB ever, ever blame his predecessors for anything? He had too much class to do that.

Every thinking person (including Dems, but they won´t admit it) knows that it is the Dems who have waged Armeggedon on:
1. Women: to objectify them, use them for their own particular base needs at the time, depending on which Democratic politician is using which staffer at which particular time, and to sum up their political aspirations in a single, non-empowering issue.
2. Minorities: to keep them reaching for a goal they will never attain under the Dem´s rule: independence.
3. Poor folks. For the Dems, the more the better. A Chicken in every Pot has been working from Day One.

Of course she was asking for it, i.e. attempting to lure the president of the United States into a sexual relationship. No sensible person has ever doubted that. She was asking for it, and she had every right to try to seduce Slick Willy. We can doubt that much effort was needed. All she had to do was to signal her availability and the game was on.

All of that is beside the point. Lewinsky was an intern, a young adult, nobody of importance or consequence, was not a representative of the people, and could choose to behave badly if she wished.

The president of the United States, however presents a quite different set of expectations, circumstances and responsibilities. He should certainly not have taken her up on her offer.

Marcus may be trying to protect Clinton by blaming Lewinsky. This could never if the predatory president had been a Republican. That is when they would have been cries outrage and charges of Blaming the victim! that the writers think will descend Ruth Marcus for her common sense remarks.

I don´t think there will be any such outrage, not in the case. Not when Slick Willy is involved. Lewinsky is not about to be allowed to tarnish Slick´s halo, not if the media can help it. They far more like to demonize than to hold the president responsible for his egregious behavior.

"Thou shalt no commit adultery" is a rule that tends to bring security to those of us who are married, as we do not have to worry about what is going on when we are not in the presence of a spouse. It´s a good rule and I follow it; so does my wife.

Where are the feminists denouncing Hillary for her suppressing the truth with her ´bimbo eruptions´ team of surrogates, who smeared Bill´s ´conquests´? Has the media forgotten? #16, Beyoncé, the designated role model for the Obama girls, did more than flash her thong. She shamelessly mooned a worldwide audience - and more, from what I hear - with her husbands approval.

Glad I didn´t see it happen. The picture on my browser was more than enough. I won´t speculate beyond saying that Monica Lewinsky was probably an innocent in comparison to some of today´s "Democratic thong flashers".
Come to think of it, Bill Clinton´s infamous sexual escapades are probably closer to normal than the things happening in hallowed places of power today.

Bill Clinton’s Perjury
By Mark R. Levin
October 25, 2005

"… he helped Monica Lewinsky write a false affidavit denying sexual relations with him; he intended the false affidavit to be used during his deposition, and in fact his lawyer (Bob Bennett) did use (unwittingly) the false affidavit to try to convince the judge overseeing the deposition (Susan Webber Wright) to limit questions to Clinton during the deposition; Clinton himself confirmed the accuracy of the false Lewinsky affidavit during his deposition; and Clinton lied repeatedly during the sworn deposition about his relationship with Lewinsky. There were no problems with bad recollections or unintended omissions. As Judge Wright ruled in her contempt holding against Clinton, Clinton made “intentionally false” statements. Clinton also enlisted others to lie for him. And considering the Jones lawsuit was about sexual harassment, and Jones’s lawyers were trying to establish a practice and pattern of sexual misconduct to win their civil suit, this was no side issue. And yet, Clinton was not indicted. Robert Ray, the last of the independent counsels in the case, settled the case."

That lack of regard for the rule of law is the real danger in electing another Democrat.

Rand Paul simply, calmly, and truthfully pointed out the hypocrisy of Democrats and the gall it takes to smear Republicans by attempting to place a "war on women" tag on them in the face of actions by Dem presidential icon Bill Clinton, and his supportive feminist wife, Hillary.

The side argument of the sluttiness of a "thong flashing" young intern is just a distraction. Does anyone believe the next Democrat POTUS wouldn´t continue Obama´s road to destruction?
