The sons, daughters and even grandchildren of the once pivotal figure in the North Korea regime were executed under orders from the country´s leader. Mr Jang, who was once the mentor to Mr Kim, was executed in a ´purge´ on December 12 2013 for alleged acts of "treachery". An anonymous source told South Korean news agency Yonhap that entire families closely related to Mr Jang were killed after his execution last month. The source said: "All relatives of Jang have been put to death, including even children. "Extensive executions have been carried out for relatives of Jang Song-thaek." In the lead up to Tuesday´s special election in New Hampshire, Ready for Hillary, a super PAC urging Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016, touted their involvement in the race for the state´s Executive Council. One problem: The Democrat lost. Democrat Mike Cryans conceded the race to Republican Joe Kenney on Wednesday morning, according to CNN affiliate WMUR. MARCH 12--George Zimmerman’s parents are suing Roseanne Barr, claiming that the comedian forced them into hiding after she sent a Twitter message listing their home address in the wake of their son’s shooting of Trayvon Martin. Robert and Gladys Zimmerman allege that the 61-year-old performer sought to “cause a lynch mob to descend” on their Florida home by sending a March 2012 tweet containing the couple’s address and phone number. Barr, they allege, mistakenly believed that their son was living with them, adding that her tweet was “an open and obvious call for vigilante justice.” As TSG reported, Barr, who subsequently deleted

WASHINGTON -- The Guantánamo Bay prison has adopted a new forced-feeding policy that rhetorically recasts the year-long hunger strike in the remote prison camps as “long term non-religious fasting.” The Pentagon disclosed the rebranding effort Tuesday with the release of a 24-page how-to document developed by the prison camps in December. It blacks out specifics that apparently define how much weight loss and how many missed meals qualify a hunger-striking captive for the prison´s twice-daily tube feedings. In it, the U.S. military at Guantánamo appears to be distinguishing between bona fide Muslim fasts and the protest that started more than a year

Since 1998, the average rate of Earth’s rising global surface temperature has relaxed, much to the chagrin of climate scientists whose climate-model predictions told a different story. Now, researchers say they’ve found the cause of Earth’s global warming “hiatus.” According to a new study, published in the journal Nature Geoscience, volcanoes are the reason the average rate of warming dropped from .31 degrees Fahrenheit per decade between 1970 and 1998 to .072 degrees Fahrenheit per decade between 1998 and 2012. This “muted surface warming” was the result of a series of 17 small volcanic eruptions, beginning in 2000, that spewed

By now it’s settled on most people, including Democrats, that the loss of Alex Sink to David Jolly in Florida’s 13th Congressional District was, in the words of the New York Times, “devastating” to Democrats. It’s a district Ms. Sink carried in her unsuccessful race for governor against Rick Scott, a district that Barack Obama carried in his two elections, and a district that demographically now favors Democrats. In addition, Ms. Sink raised more money and ran a better campaign than Jolly. Even Bill Clinton lent his efforts to her campaign. And yet she lost. What should particularly alarm Democrats is

The three-judge panel — consisting of Carter and Clinton appointees — ruled in favor of the legislators’ standing. This decision should embolden members of Congress who correctly believe that President Obama has encroached upon Congress’ constitutional authority. Indeed, Congress should do no less in defending its authority than the five Colorado state legislators.
