Conservatives Must Break
the Establishment’s Rules

Townhall, by Kurt Schlichter

Original Article

Have you noticed how the Establishment invents a lot of special rules that only seem to apply to conservatives? Have you noticed how these rules always involve preventing conservatives from winning? And have you noticed how these rules never, ever seem to apply to our enemies? Take the imbroglio over Wendy Davis, the pride of Harvard Law School and the scourge of fetuses everywhere. Turns out her story of pulling herself up by her stiletto straps was a bit more complicated than it initially appeared. And by “a bit more complicated,” I mean it appears to be a miasma of distortions,

Have you noticed that the left is always calling out the t.e.a. Party as the bad guys that are supporting the republicans and yet the republicans never ever call out that the socialist/commies are the ones that are backing the left democrats? When are the republicans going to start pointing that out to the lo info morons?

FTA: Don’t fight amnesty! Don’t you know that by fighting amnesty you’ll ensure that people who will never, ever vote for us will never, ever vote for us? Of course, defeating amnesty also means they will never, ever vote for our opponents either, but that subtle insight doesn’t seem to get much play.

The above quote is the best logic I have seen in print in years!!! It should be sent to every Republican in Congress.

Excellent point! Having resolved to give up on the black vote, we conservatives need to be clear ALSO about our non-concern to serve the desires of the Hispanic community!

/sarcasm off

Or... maybe we should call for some principled reforms of welfare, food stamp, Medicaid, and public schooling laws that will prevent abuses by new immigrants who haven´t paid into the system.

And maybe some reforms to clear "criminal" records of mere pot users and those who have committed other victimless crimes, so they can be employable.

Maybe reform welfare laws to help keep black families intact. Reward academic progress for all students. Etc. Etc.

The burdens of our neediest citizens (and guests) are best served by conservative and Christian principles, and we should not be shy or apologetic about that fact!

We should shout it from the rooftops!

An offer to award former Muslim activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali an honorary degree during commencement at Brandeis University has been rescinded because some of her past statements are "inconsistent with Brandeis University´s core values." What´s truly amazing about this decision is that the liberals who forced the issue are praising Ali for her work in exposing genital mutilation, forced marriages, and honor killings - but now want to ban her because apparently, her statements exposing those horrors hurt the feelings of Muslims. Here´s the university´s statement from last night announcing the decision: Following a discussion today between President Frederick Lawrence and Ayaan Hirsi

A decades-long trend that saw an increasing percentage of mothers working may have reversed itself. More moms are staying home full-time, according to a new report from the Pew Research Center. “After Decades of Decline, A Rise in Stay-at-Home Mothers,” a new study by D’Vera Cohn, Gretchen Livingston, and Wendy Wang, reports that the proportion of women staying home full-time rose 6 percentage points, from a historic low of 23 percent in 1999 to 29 percent in 2012. Are more women getting what they want? Perhaps. Advertisement Over the last generation, there has been surprising stability in women’s gendered preferences for motherhood over work:

Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters — "a dynamic liberal Democrat who champions the causes of the poor and downtrodden," as the liberal press calls her — held a rally of sorts at the Capitol on Tuesday. Waters´ cause: supporting the federal agency called the Export-Import Bank, which subsidizes exporters, banks and foreign companies. Among the needy on stage with her was the top lobbyist for Boeing, the prime beneficiary of Ex-Im. At the other end of the political spectrum, Republican Sen. Under the guise of experiental, educational sojourns in the Middle East, an ongoing, extensive tourism subterfuge of global proportions is at work today. This comprehensive and coordinated fraudulent operation includes travel agency fronts, terrorist groups, international NGOs, Islamists, and Leftists. They include such organizations as the Siraj Center for Holy Land Studies, Abraham Path, the Soros Foundation to Promote Open Society, and others. All of them, whether unwittingly or intentionally, are part of an effort to turn tourists, college students, and Christian pilgrims against the Jewish state of Israel. Great Britain’s Iron Lady passed away a year ago today, on April 8, 2013. Her death, at the age of 87, left a huge void on the world stage, one that may never be filled. Margaret Thatcher was a political titan who transformed her home nation from the “sick man of Europe” into a resurgent economic power. Implementing conservative policies that emphasized individual liberty and economic freedom, Thatcher lifted a nation ravaged by Socialism off its deathbed, restoring Britain’s prosperity and self-confidence. She was also a fearless leader internationally, standing shoulder to shoulder with Ronald Reagan in opposition to the Soviet

Senate Democrats and liberal groups are mounting a pressure campaign against the Supreme Court, hoping to influence future decisions by blasting conservative justices for alleged political bias. The effort from the left also portrays the high court as an instrument rigged to help the wealthy, and is intended to energize Democratic voters and increase turnout in the midterm elections. Some legal experts see the effort as akin to basketball or soccer players “working the ref” in a high-stakes game. Silicon Valley has a trust problem, and it´s growing. Some of this is the result of National Security Agency spying — and the tech community´s cooperation with same — and some of it is based on other things tech leaders are doing. But the worst of it is based on who our tech overlords have become. The NSA spying has already done harm enough. As Glenn Derene warned in Popular Mechanics when the story first broke, fear of NSA spying is giving a boost to offshore competitors, as companies and users seek hardware and software without back doors and compromised security

LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain." "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."

A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. There’s no way to reconcile that with RAND’s data. One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact. There’s a big spike in Medicaid, just as everyone expected. There’s a less big but
