***RUSH TRANSCRIPT** BOB SCHIEFFER: We want to turn now to the President´s State of the Union speech on Tuesday and we´re going to Houston and the Tea Party Republican, Ted Cruz who led the shutdown of the government last fall because the president wouldn´t agree to shut down Obamacare. Senator, thank you for coming. You have already released a list of issues you want the president to address in his State of the Union speech including you want a new investigation into the Benghazi controversy and into the IRS. You want him to admit that his economic program has failed,

Didn´t see the interview, but judging from the transcript, it looks like Senator Cruz did a masterful job of getting his message across in spite of Schieffer´s repetition of White House talking points.

Yellow Dog Bob my not get his customary A from the White House for his show today. Despite doing everything a good state-controlled ´journalist´ can, ole Bob simply could not get Sen Cruz to ´confess´ to the DRats govt shutdown meme...

Very attractive conservative leader but not a Natural Born Citizen, not even born in the U.S. and parents not U.S. citizens either.

Dem would like to see him run, hoping he wins the Rep primaries, then the DNC lawsuit do remove him would be like shooting fish in a barrel. Ensuing chaos in the RNC August, September 2016 would be deafening.

All this while Hillary measures the Oval Office for new drapes.

Notice how everytime Cruz made a valid point making Obama look bad Scheiffer rebutted with the Whitehouse talking point followed by "but let´s move on!". I other words as a loyal liberal Democrat Scheiffer just couldn´t bear allowing any point by Cruz to go unanswered on behalf of Obama.

How does Scheiffer treat a liberal Democrat under similar circumstances? He allows them to expand on their lying propaganda and never questions their obvious lies. Liberals lie. And liberal pundits allow other liberals to lie. It´s in their DNA.

Cruz is a brilliant, honest man and effectively took Schieffer to the woodshed, just as he would Barack Obama in a debate.

Cruz should go for the presidency and dare the other side to question his credentials and legitimacy after they let a drug-addled kenyan into the White House by hiding his past.

Reading the transcripts I´d say Cruz outlined the best way to participate in the typical hostile political interview. He stuck to his points, made positive answers and kept control of the weasel.

FTA: "President Obama invited all the senate Republicans to go up to the White House. He sat us in a room. This is in the middle of the shutdown. And he said, "I invited you here to tell you I will not negotiate. I will not compromise on anything." That´s why we had a shutdown. That was a mistake."

Senator Cruz has correctly pointed out that there is no negotiating with the marijuana-laced thinking of 0bama and the needs of our nation. It is important to stay focused, first on good candidates for the 2014 midterm elections and the 2016 presidential election beyond. All we can do is hold a guerrilla type of political warfare where his future threatened executive orders & government office (EPA, IRS, etc.) actions are stopped by holding back spending in the House. The 0bamaNation and his sycophants have much to answer for, but without power and the voice of the people, we are waisting our time allowing them to let US chase our tail.

No need to watch the president´s State of the Union message Tuesday night. We already know what Burrocky gonna say. He´s gonna say the economy is whirring right along, unemployment is way down, America´s standing in the world is way up, Americans love Obamacare, and all would be right in the world if only those rotten Republicans would quit causing him problems just because he´s black. Dude been giving us this same speech 50 times a year the last four years.

If I were the President of CBS, Schieffer would be suspended and / or fired by noon today. What a pathetic excuse for an "interview". It was more like an intervention to try to enlist Cruz into his Democrat party. This was further evidence that Ted Cruz is the most capable candidate.

#3, for some reason, Cruz has yet to give up his Canadian citizenship. His staff says, "soon". He certainly can´t run for president while still holding dual citizenship. So, maybe he doesn´t intend to go for the White House after all.

# 3 - You are wrong.....Cruz´s mother was/is a citizen of the U.S.A. and OLD enough to confer citizenship to her child, unlike obama´s mother. His father was a legal refugee unlike you know who.

Cruz would make a most intelligent Senate Majority Leader. Hope this comes to pass in 2014/15.

I´ll say it again...the term is "leftist", not "liberal". Scheiffer only wishes his side was liberal so his job wouldn´t be so hard. Sadly, Cruz is one of the few who have not been corrupted by the beltway. We need to find more like him. Integrity in politics? What a concept! But Reagan had it and so does Palin and a few others. I just wish finding it wasn´t so hard.

#3 has it right. I would love to see Cruz lead this floundering ship of state. But we would be looking into the Abyss. By 2020 we would see an influx of foreign backed candidates flooding into America, "giving up" their native citizenships, and using all manner of foreign shadow financing a la Soros to buy the American Presidency. Our sovereinty has already taken a bad hit by not arresting obama for fraud and desmocking him. Perpetrating that egregious error by ignoring it would be terminal for the Republic. Cruz should definitely be within arms reach of whoever sits in the oval office. I think he is actually debating these points with himself and considering his obligations to America. I hope he makes [another] good decision for all of us.

Additional evidence of why the good senator from the great state of Texas WILL MAKE A GREAT PRESIDENT!

FTA: SEN. TED CRUZ: Well, Bob, with all due respect, I don´t agree with the premise of your question [“You became a celebrity when you led the drive to shut down the government over Obamacare” - BS]. Throughout the government shutdown, I opposed a government shutdown. I said we shouldn´t shut down the government. I think it was a mistake that President Obama and the Democrats shut the government down this fall.

Shuck the narrative that the leftist interviewer tries to trap you into and make your own points.

I am not a Cruz for President fan, at least not yet. However, I got a letter from an L-Dotter who asked me to post this comment in reply to #3. Remember these are not my words:

Cruz´s mother was born in Delaware and was a natural born citizen herself. That said, being born out of the country does not affect one´s status of natural born citizen if one is born a US citizen, if that parent meets the qualifications of age and time living in the US at the time of birth of their child. This does unfortunately apply to anchor babies also according to the 14th amendment.

The Constitution has only two categories of citizen, ie. "citizen" as required for members of Congress and "natural born citizen" for Pres and VP. A citizen can be anyone born as citizen or naturalized. A "natural born citizen" needs to be a citizen at birth, thus not requiring to become naturalized. Ted Cruz meets that criteria.

I agree that constitutional conservatives need to limit the damage done by Obama before they gain a majority of the Senate in Nov. They need to file suit against the administration every time he violates laws he dislikes. Plus they need to establish a caucus and agree on their positions for the balance of this Congress and the first 90 days of the next.

#3 and 16 should go back to school and learn English Comprehension and what Homework are. They should do these things before commenting in any forum to keep from looking foolish.

#3...Cruz´s Mother is a US Citizen, thus making Cruz a US Citizen. Why don´t you know that?

#16...Cruz has submitted paperwork to give up his Canadian Citizenship. Every Child born with dual citizenship can do this when they become 18 and older by choosing one or the other Country. Why didn´t you know that?

Just a teeny bit of research:

The Congressional Research Service gathered all of the information relevant to Cruz´s case a few years ago, at the height (nadir?) of Obama birtherism. In short, the Constitution says that the president must be a natural-born citizen. "The weight of scholarly legal and historical opinion appears to support the notion that ´natural born Citizen´ means one who is entitled under the Constitution or laws of the United States to U.S. citizenship ´at birth´ or ´by birth,´ including any child born ´in´ the United States, the children of United States citizens born abroad, and those born abroad of one citizen parents who has met U.S. residency requirements," the CRS´s Jack Maskell wrote. So in short: Cruz is a citizen; Cruz is not naturalized; therefore Cruz is a natural-born citizen, and in any case his mother is a citizen.

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. Many Republicans are re-evaluating their strong stances on conservative social issues as public

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of

Some time back, whenever a big racial controversy erupted, I trained myself into the habit of reading about it at FoxNews.com, just for the unbelievable comment threads. Let’s put it this way: If my friends and I went out to a bar and started playing a “let’s write the racist FoxNews.com comment thread” drinking game, our efforts couldn’t begin to approach what I read there.I wasn’t alone. Liberal websites started feasting on these threads. And so, a couple of years ago, Ailes & Co. got wise. Stories about race were, at least in my disheartened experience, closed to comments.
