Three people are dead and three were taken to a local hospital after a Saturday morning mall shooting in suburban Baltimore. Police say the gunman killed two people before turning the gun on himself just before 11:15 a.m. Saturday morning in an upstairs store at the busy mall. One person had a seizure, one sprained their ankle and another was shot in the foot. ´We were able to identify three victims in an upper level store… one of those victims is believed to be the shooter,´ Howard County Police Chief Bill McMahon said during a Saturday afternoon press briefing. An eyewitness described the shooter as Latino or Middle Eastern

That´s gonna make it more difficult to peg this on the Tea Party, but I´m sure the media and dims will try. Maybe they´ll say that the Latino´s only recourse for not getting amnesty is to shoot people, or the Middle Eastern person was driven to violence due to the oppressive racism from the Tea Party. Its all Ted Cruz´s fault.

They already know he was identified as "Latino or Middle Eastern," he was also a "victim."

the updates will be about what offense by Jews, Christians, Tea Party folks, whites or rich people "provoked this tragic loss."

shooting wAS AT 11:15 AM. Perp dead shortly thereafter. SWAT team form multiple jurisdictions still "securing" the site at 2pm. once the guy is dead, why not just yellow tape it and send the militarized cops home. Instead we need them to put on this great show of force to persuade the sheeples that the government is protecting them (from the dead guy).

Based on what they´ve told us so far, the very great odds are that the killer knew at least one of the victims and this was a murder/suicide. The article even suggests this.

A House committee voted Wednesday to formally ask the Justice Department to consider criminal prosecution against ex-IRS official Lois Lerner, the figure at the center of the political targeting scandal. The House Ways and Means Committee voted 23-14 to send the criminal referral. The vote marked an escalation in Republicans´ push to confront Lerner over her role in the agency´s controversial practice of singling out conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status for extra scrutiny. On another front, a separate committee will vote Thursday on whether to hold her in contempt of Congress for twice refusing to testify on the scandal.

The Medicare program is the source of a small fortune for many U.S. doctors, according to a trove of government records that reveal unprecedented details about physician billing practices nationwide. The government insurance program for older people paid nearly 4,000 physicians in excess of $1 million each in 2012, according to the new data. Those figures do not include what the doctors billed private insurance firms. The release of the information gives the public access for the first time to the billing practices of individual doctors nationwide. Consumer groups and news outlets have pressured Medicare to release the data for

In a contentious open-to-the-public hearing that lasted only few minutes, the House Ways and Means Committee voted this morning to immediately go into a closed session to discuss a letter proposed by the committee’s majority to refer former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner to the Justice Department for possible criminal prosecution. When Ranking Member Sander Levin (D.-Mich.), seeking to make a point of order, repeatedly interrupted Chairman Dave Camp’s (R.-Mich.) attempt to start a roll-call vote intended to take the committee into closed session, Camp told him: “Just chill out. What is the gentleman’s point of order?”

That is a 3 percentage point jump from the depth of the recession in 2008. (Snip) After decades of decline, the share of mothers with children in the house has been growing since around 2000. A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. There’s no way to reconcile that with RAND’s data. One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact. My first published column was in a local paper opposing the Equal Rights Amendment for the same reasons that Phyllis Schlafly, a conservative lawyer, campaigned on. As ambiguously written, the ERA, would eliminate the men-only draft requirement, repeal protective laws like sexual assault and eliminate the tendency for mothers to obtain custody over their children in divorce cases. Ironically, one of the arguments that helped sink the amendment from ratification was the fear that single-sex bathrooms would no longer be permitted. In addition, opponents of the amendment also warned that it would lead to abortion on demand and same-sex marriages.

How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally
