Medical marijuana ballot called
´plan´ to help Crist beat Scott

Tampa Tribune, by William March

Original Article

TAMPA — Some Florida Republicans fear, and some Democrats hope, that a November referendum on legalizing medical marijuana in Florida will drive young and liberal voters to the polls, helping Democratic candidates including gubernatorial challenger Charlie Crist. The initiative, still not certified for the November ballot, is generating charges of political motives from both sides. Some Republicans call it an expensive ploy by Crist´s backers to help him win. “It is no coincidence that Charlie Crist´s law partner and biggest supporter, John Morgan, is financing medical marijuana,” said Gainesville-based GOP consultant Alex Patton. “It´s a plan.” Some Democrats, meanwhile, say

Comments:
There are some unwarranted assumptions being made in this article, such as that support for legalization of marijuana is a Left-Right dichotomy. There are plenty of libertarians on the Right who, although they despise the likes of Charlie Crist and the appalling John Morgan, would support legalization. Most of the MSM hate Gov. Scott, but things are better in Florida than in most other places. Like Sheriff Bart in Blazing Saddles, he´s becoming an underground success. And Crist, empty of everything save ambition, was an awful governor.

Is Medical marijuana still a liberal issue? Libertarians are way ahead of curve here and don´t vote for RINOs.

So this is why John Morgan´s been all over the radio with legalize medical marijuana ads. I knew it was for a political campaign, but I assumed it would be his own. The tipoff is that they all end with "email me" or "follow me on Twitter". It´s been clear they´re building a mailing list. Now we know what for.

So the democrats buy into the myth that all young voters are druggies, and the republicans believe them. Free clue: druggies do not vote. They are too busy smoking their doobies.

So much democrat/socialist/libertarian social issues going forward that who knows what is legal from one day to the next--but if illegal, the same demographic would/will impose it with civil disobedience.

They legalize with no concept of what they open up the once most conservative nation in the world to.

Same with the gay power moves. Search online and read the word pederast and then wiki and history of pederasty worldwide.

What special rights will be given that empowers NAMBLA (those who are silent and closeted or cloistered during this fight)? All it takes for NAMBLA to reach their dream state (and parade their youth in public)is an age of consent equality in young men as it does for young women.

Holy Roman Empire! Or the liberal Greeks. Read the psychological studies about the consequences to the youth. Wiki has a comprehensive look at it vertically and horizontally in time.

Redefining decadence in our hedonistic, narcissistic era. Future belongs to the youth whose votes and innocence of consequences have created this American Tragedy.

Why is it bad to smoke cigarettes, which are produced in a safe, regulated environment?

Yet "everybody" wants to legalize pot, which is produced at best in questionable situations (ie cartels at worst) and hey, it´s still smoking (lung cancer?).

Go figure.

The predominant population in Florida is over 65 years old. They are not potheads like those in Colorado.
If I were a Scott, I would run an ad that says "Is this what you want for your grandchildren." Then show that famous picture of what happens to your brain after smoking pot.

I´m in the libertarian part of the commenters here and I don´t particularly support pot but have concluded that the cure is worse than the disease with this substance. I would like to see Scott get out ahead of Crist by asking the legislature to pass a medical marijuana bill and then having him sign it into law. It would completely neutralize Crist´s effort and waste the money of Crist and his law partner. It won´t happen but I wish they´d do it.

Such plans are about across the country. Heard an interview on local Boston station with someone who is part of an organization primarily funded by Soros... any surprise?

As such, this is a plan for every State, a ploy to try to increase Dem/Lefties in government.

Pretty damned cynical.

Not many people have caused an accident on the highway or at work from smoking a cigarette; plenty from being high.

How will OSHA comply ?

If Conservatives were smart they´d be checking all these pro marijuana advocates and see if they had been on the bandwagon to create smoking ban laws or publicly favored it. If so their hypocrisy should be well publicized right before the election.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Bill Haas shot a 4-under 68 to lead the Masters on Thursday, the first time he´s headed a major at the end of a round. The son of longtime PGA Tour player Jay Haas broke 70 for the first time in five Augusta National appearances. The 31-year-old American started the tournament with a bogey, but bounced back to knock in six birdies on a warm, sunny day when only three other players got into the 60s. The last two Masters winners, defending champion Adam Scott of Australia and 2012 winner Bubba Watson of the U.S., were both

Urbanites have apparently found an answer to rural California´s long nefarious history of cow-tipping. A group of men in San Francisco have allegedly taken to car-tipping. Three Smart cars were "tipped over" late Sunday or early Monday, local media reported. The pint-sized, two-door coupes were either set on their hind quarters or tipped completely over. The feat of upending a car listed at roughly 1,800 pounds may take more muscle than merely pushing over a snoozing cow, but the vandals also appeared to know what they were doing, according to one witness. After criticizing President Obama throughout his second term, I´ve reversed course and decided that he´s a tremendous leader, one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history. Perfection is too high of a bar to set for any man, or any president, but Obama has come close to clearing it. What stands between this president and Mount Rushmore? Republicans—specifically, the stubborn extremists who control the House under the weak leadership of Speaker John Boehner. Gridlock, hyper-partisanship, and ineffective governance, those traits that make Washington so unpopular with voters, are singularly the fault of the GOP. It is not Obama´s fault; none

They know it was Pakistan — or factions within it — that ran the whole war on terror. But, she writes, the Obama administration

Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle.
