Administration fears part of health
care system so flawed it could
bankrupt insurance companies

While the administration publicly expresses full confidence in its health care law, privately it fears one part of the system is so flawed it could bankrupt insurance companies and cripple ObamaCare itself. "Week after week, month after month," says John Goodman of the National Center for Policy Analysis, "the Obama administration kept telling us everything´s working fine, there´s no problem and then they turn on a dime and fire their contractor." To justify a no-bid contract with Accenture after firing CGI as the lead contractor, the administration released documents from the Department of Health and Human Services and the Center

Part of it? Gosh what a good laugh. The entire mess rewrites the meaning of "flawed." I hope it sinks this fetid and corrupt Administration...!

Are you kidding? It´s working as planned. Seed the land with confusion and mistrust. Build an answer that is never meant to be. Then sit back and watch it burn. After the election, when all the criminals promise to fix it, declare it unfixable, and nationalize all healthcare when the insurance companies come a begging.

It´s all part of the plan.

If you´re on Medicare and need to be admitted to the hospital, make sure the admission is designated ´inpatient´ and not ´under observation´ or you will be responsible for the costs. I saw this on TV and quite informative.

Seriously, privately they are giggling with glee at the insurance companies being driven to bankruptcy to make way for their dream of a single payer system. They can´t wait. Nothing will stop them from getting their dream to come true. In the mean time Obama is announcing he will commit unconstitutional acts and high crimes and other misdemeanors, and no one will stop him. Welcome to the United States of Anarchy.

I tried to have a sane conversation with my lib sister who thinks obamacare is wonderful--she has a pre existing condition so is thrilled to be covered.
I asked why I have to pay for pregnancy and abortions and subsidize others--why can´t they sneak back to Mexico or stop smoking cigs and guzzling beer long enough to pay for their daY(*&m insurance---she almost forced me out of the moving car.
I don´t know how she lost her way.....

It is the perfect crime, you have to admit.

Flawed in root and branch, Obamacare will bring the insurance companies down, then the Donks will own them like Government Motors. Bailouts in the billions with insider democrats making millions in the money shuffle. Then the feds are "forced" to go to single payer. Meanwhile the media has been told to come up with the spin to blame it all on the Republicans.

Anyone with a clue knows upfront the Democrats are fundamentally incompetent and can´t be successfully prosecuted for knowingly screwing up Obamacare, it just happened like all their other progressive inventions. Perfect cover there.

So, the only folks left to blame are the Republicans...

My daughter is an insurance salesman. Obamacare has hurt her paycheck deeply. She is a single mother (not by choice) with two children. Obamacare is killing her financially and she is stressed out terribly.
I help her as much as I can but she is very proud.

Just one more reason to hate the progs.

Since this monstrosity was rammed through Congress, I´ve been telling anyone who would listen, it is not intended to provide health care insurance to those who do not have it. It is intended to drive the country into a single payer system, and what better way to do that than kill private insurance companies so that the only alternative left is the federal government.

More "smoke and mirrors" nonsense from the Marxist hoodlums presently "occupying" The White House!---Everything about Obamacare is going exactly according to the "game plan":

What exactly is meant by "single payer"? Medicare can´t be it. Medicare operates like most insurance: a deductible (now over $1200 per year) and a 20% co-pay, so that most recipients buy a supplement to cover those expenses; from private insurers I might add.
How do single payer systems acquire their funds?
And rationing has to be part of it, too. In fact, a couple of years ago I saw a chart that showed Medicare at the top of the list of first time claim denials. It was around 6%, if memory serves.
I would ask how anyone thinks this will work, but in the bizarro world in which we now live only intentions matter not reality.

The kick in the pants is that no matter what plans are forced on us, our betters (those in government or connected to government) will have the best of care. In any communist country that´s that way it is. Already terminally ill patients are being kicked off their insurance and are unable to continue treatment. This is just the beginning. There will be death panels and they are intended to use them to thin the herd. Anyone 65 and over will be in their crosshairs. Stay healthy, my friends. Your life depends on it.

The American people need to see the plan to correct this debacle. What are the issues? What is the action to correct resolve the issues? When will these ations occur? What are the benchmarks to measure the success of each corrective action? How many people need to sign up to prevent disaster? How many people signed up? How many paid?
The "press" appears incurious and accepts Jay Carney´s Sargeant Schultz approach to responsibilty.

This is one of the most egregious stories I have seen in some time. In what world would this not be an emergency where Congress would be called into session and it would be fixed? Just because we have a racist President, we can not criticize "his" legislative masterpiece? Roughly one-sixth of our economy is in peril and nothing is being done, Democrats continue to lie, the HHS head continues to say all is well...

Sebelius insisted once again Wednesday it would all come together and insurance companies will get their money.

If they want to get paid they will get paid...but that all depends on what the meaning of "it" is.

The administration emphasizes that fixing the site by mid-March is urgent. Otherwise the system could descend into chaos and threaten the future of ObamaCare.

By design, it WILL fall into chaos but the future of Obamacare is quite sound. Yours on the other hand is well past being threatened, also by design.

Ayn Rand wrote about Obamacare:

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary." --Ayn Rand

I would suggest that the tying of hand and foot predates Obamacare causing the disproportionate rise in healthcare costs to begin with leading to the government solution. Now we´ll need the complete take over to solve the problems caused by the solution.

I´m trying to stay positive about our nation´s future. Americans have a way of self-correcting its mistakes. I take heart in our history, especially the big mistake of the 18th Amendment. We self-corrected with the 21st Amendment.

Obamacare was not an Amendment - it was a law and laws are easier to repeal, I would guess, than a Constitutional Amendment.

**Article V of the Constitution prescribes how an amendment can become a part of the Constitution. While there are two ways, only one has ever been used. All 27 Amendments have been ratified after two-thirds of the House and Senate approve of the proposal and send it to the states for a vote. Then, three-fourths of the states must affirm the proposed Amendment.[bold mine]

The other method of passing an amendment requires a Constitutional Convention to be called by two-thirds of the legislatures of the States. That Convention can propose as many amendments as it deems necessary. Those amendments must be approved by three-fourths of the states.**
**from Lexis/Nexis

Since Obamacare is a law, and, one not many Americans like, we just have to elect candidates who will vote to repeal it, unless the Supreme Court wakes up with one of the cases now challenging Obamacare´s Constitutionality. - Pray, pray, pray - be confident that prayers are answered.

Well, Obamacare has been good for corporations like Target, Home Depot, etc. who have dumped their part-time employees health coverage so these same people can go on Obamacare.

Seems that if you have a powerful and rich lobbyist to represent you - you´ll do okay with this government. Of course, one would have thought that the ultimate lobby group is the US Congress representing We The People, but apparently not.

This administration fears nothing but folks discovering that obama´s swing is really less masculine than a 70 year old woman. I just love hearing that the medicare reimbursements to hospitals is going to be less than what they reimburse for medicaid. No costly care, just pain pills and hospitals rewarded for getting them out as quickly as possible. How many medicare patients will have to suffer and die because obama wants to control the populace ? Survival of the fittest is coming again...unless you are part of the govt.

One of the wonders of the world is the medical and health technology in the American medical culture.
A couple of destructive, no talent, elected crooks, stick their dirty fingers into this incredible machinery, and,OF COURSE, destruction, ruin will follow, no matter how much the lying likes of Diane Sawyer and Puglosi ignore the truth.
The good news is that with this crazed destructive attempt at a Communist takeover, FORCING Americans to buy a deeply flawed, messed up product (and disservice), more Americans now are waking up to the massive Communist driven plot, than ever before.
Of course it was meant to break the backs of all America
It was designed to destroy, nothing else!

Leftists are basically a band of thieves who believe that everything should be free and that money grows on trees. They live in a phantasy land and refuse to accept the responsibility of adulthood. They are incompetent and impractical by definition. When the real world slaps them they blame it on conservatives and demand an entitlement to fix things. Working for the necessities of life is unthinkable to them. Their whole dream is to reverse the decree of God in Genesis - You shall earn your bread by the sweat of your brow! If they get to sell the single payer as a solution to this it will be a case of continued refusal to accept the responsibility of adulthood! Obamacare takes the idea of insurance which is sharing a risk and makes it into a wealth redistribution scheme and patches that with government coercion. Insurance companies return on investment is much lower than pharmaceutical companies. They are actually an efficient way to organize the health care industry so they are not the real villains. The waste with obamacare will be much more but since it is not called "profit" that will be OK. The GOP needs to put forward somebody like Ted Cruz that can articulate these truths otherwise we will get more of the same.

#24 – Ayn Rand understood statists in a clear and uncompromising way. Her great novel “Atlas Shrugged” lays out their ideology, strategies and tactics, and paints a vivid picture of the inevitable results. The Cartel Party has run every gambit and scam described within its pages. Its almost like they’re using it for their playbook.

However, we must remember that she also correctly identified the only effective response to this tyranny, the individual withholding their consent. The statists crave the consent of their victims whether it is voluntary or coerced through threats and violence.

“Atlas Shrugged” should be our playbook as well because Rand also detailed how that refusal to consent can be effected by everyone in society. People tend to focus on the refuge of the successful industrialists in Galt’s Gulch, but fail to appreciate that she also explains tactics that can be employed by every strata of society. If a person needs to work to survive, then work at the lowest level that will sustain you. Do not give the statists the best you have and avoid interaction with government agencies and agents to the best of your ability. Individuals must decide for themselves what they are willing to sacrifice to remain free.

Another problem with single payer is that it dictates a payment schedule rather than negotiating between medical groups and multiple group insurance plans (multiple buyers and multiple sellers). Eventually if doctors opt out and go private, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that doctors would be required to accept the single payer plan in order to practice.

That is precisely what Obamacare was DESIGNED TO DO...to pave the way to single payer! The Insurance companies signed on to this thinking they would make boatloads of money...now they realize they were lied to, BIG TIME, and now they are facing certain bankruptcy...

Obama likes to blame everyone else and accept zero responsibility...I´m sure in this instance he´ll blame the Republicans when in fact the Dimocraps in Congress at the time they ´illegally´ jammed this monstrosity through were working directly with Obama HIMSELF to put all these onerous provisions into the law to get to their Marxist dream..."Single Payer" (Single being everyone that works hard to support the BUMS that do not.)

The only problem with that is Obama´s MARXIST STINK is ALL OVER this law and everyone that isn´t a useful idiot KNOWS IT!

OK, GOP, WHEN are YOU going to put this bad law in a grave and Impeach it´s author?

Even if Obozo and company are aiming for a single payer type of healthcare, currently there is one big stumbling block in their way. The Republican controlled House. In order to implement single payer, it would have to have to have a large healthcare tax placed on the citizens of the country to pay for it. And there just might be enough dims to join pubis to vote something like that down. And it would be living he$$ on those running for re-election to go out and tell potential voters that he/she will increase their tax burden. That usually doesn´t go to well with voters. And count me as one that doesn´t cry any crocodile tears for the insurance companies. As previous posted, they thought they saw a way to rake in boat loads of cash and supported Obozocare to the max. Paybacks are he$$.

On MLK day I took 2 kids to see Nut Job (the movie). Surprisingly, I heard a conservative message buried in the film.

There is a raccoon who is the leader of the park and he says he is only for the good of the park and all the animals therein. Turns out he is sabotaging the food supply because he finally says "the way to control the animals is to control the food". Fortunately a few unhappy squirrels save the day and supply the park with the food they need.

To me Obamacare is no different.

Actually Obumcheck is bankrupting the world. When we go down (inevitable with socialist governments) so goes the world. The happy thought in all of this is that China´s economy depends upon our economy, and we aren´t paying our world wide debts, so their economy sinks along with ours.

!929, although bad, was child´s play compared to what we are facing. All those Billionaires are going to end up with worthless paper.

I don´t know who reads anything we write on conservative blogs, or is it just for us, poor schmucks, to vent?
But I want to explain something to you, fellow Americans: after we start dying in droves with this fascist/commie one payer system, we will find doctors who will take our cash and cure us. The old dirty capitalist way. This is how it worked (works) in any country with universal "health"-care system. This is how it worked for us in old USSR, that´s why Swedes (Germans, and I suppose everybody else) get supplementary medical insurance. The only question will be if our fascistic gov´t will allow it?

I hope they all go under with companies like Blue Cross and their multi-million salaried CEOs who kissed obama´s skinny Kenyan butt being the first to bite the dirt.

Even if your worst fears are realized and single-payer is enacted, it will still work the same, the healthy will not participate in rate-gouging and the system will crash all over again. Then the long fall of the democrats will begin, better private companies will recover the business and we will be back in action. If they don´t go willingly, the revolution will ensure success by getting rid of most of the crooks and parasites. History goes in cycles and we are at the end of this one.

So they got to fix the backend! It reminds me of the military physical we had to get in line for and go from station to station when we went in. I remember we got to a station and had to stand in a line. We were told by a Drill Sargeant to drop our drawers, bend over and spread our cheeks. The tall guy next to me did just that. He was standing there bent over with his fingers in his mouth spreading his cheeks. The drill sergeant yelled at him. What ever he said I was laughing so hard. It turns out the guy had piles. When He did it right the Doc looking at him made a face. The big guy stood up, looked at the Doc and said "What did you expect Ice Cream". What does this all mean. 1) Beware of someone trying to fix the behind, 2) Obamacare preventive medicine may turn out to be like the line we went through to get a physical during Vietnam

For the long-term unemployed, finding a job is hard — but keeping one may be even harder. New research tracking people who have been out of work for six months or longer found that 23 percent of them landed a job within a few months of the study. But a year later, more than a third of that group was unemployed again or out of the labor force altogether. The findings are the latest in a bleak but growing body of literature suggesting long-term unemployment has become a trap that is difficult to escape. Economists say that means the long-term unemployed could become a permanent underclass, left behind by the nation’s broader

The action comes after The Washington Post reported that the government was seizing state and federal tax refunds that were on their way to about 400,000 Americans who had relatives who owed money to Social Security. In many cases, the people whose refunds were intercepted had never heard of any debt, and the debts dated as far back as the middle of the past century. “I have directed an immediate halt to further

Despite promises to the contrary, it appears that State Senator Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth) voted on bills that affect her clients and favorably impact the bottom line of her law firm. “I have never done anything in a way that represents a conflict in my voting and something that would benefit me personally,” she said in an interview, but state records seem to tell a different story. The Dallas Morning News´ Senior Political Writer Wayne Slater (DMN) reported that Davis supported legislation governing a toll road project. That would be all well and good except for the fact that the

Democrats Lose Two More Special

Democrats have had a recurring problem in special elections this year: Their voters aren’t turning out. If a weak economy and continued Obamacare problems persist, the November elections could be a disaster for Democrats. Last week, Democrats lost two special elections they weren’t planning to. Arlington, Va., is a classic wealthy ObamaTown, filled with government workers and limousine liberals. Mitt Romney won only 29 percent of the vote in 2012. But last Tuesday, Democrats lost their first election for the five-member Arlington County Board in 15 years when John Vihstadt, a Republican running as an independent, won a vacancy on

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said little as federal agents seized and then released cattle last week from the Bundy ranch, but there is little doubt that the highly charged episode was threatening to become a political headache for the Nevada Democrat. The Bureau of Land Management is headed by former longtime Reid aide Neil Kornze, who was confirmed by the Senate as BLM director on Tuesday, just as federal authorities descended on the cattle ranch outside Mesquite, Nev. Mr. Kornze issued a statement Saturday saying that the bureau would return the cattle and withdraw its agents from the ranch

On the defensive about their prospects in the midterm elections this fall, congressional Democrats have spent all of April savaging the Republican budget proposal, decrying the Koch brothers and championing a series of bills meant to ingratiate themselves to struggling middle-class voters. In promoting legislation that would extend unemployment benefits, increase the minimum wage and promote equal pay for women, the Democrats have declared themselves the party that will ensure a “fair shot” for all. Republicans, they insist, are the party of special interests. It has been a classic Washington messaging campaign for these partisan

On a trip to Moscow early in her tenure as secretary of state, Hillary Rodham Clinton played the role of international saleswoman, pressing Russian government officials to sign a multibillion-dollar deal to buy dozens of aircraft from Boeing. A month later, Clinton was in China, where she jubilantly announced that the aerospace giant would be writing a generous check to help resuscitate floundering U.S. efforts to host a pavilion at the upcoming World’s Fair. Boeing, she said, “has just agreed to double its contribution to $2 million.” Clinton did not point out that, to secure the donation, the State Department

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin blasted President Barack Obama for nominating as his new Health and Human Services Secretary the same woman who ordered the shutdown of the war memorials during the so-called government shutdown last year. After accepting Kathleen Sebelius´ resignation Friday, Obama nominated Sylvia Burwell, the former Office of Management and Budget director. This is the same person who sent the email initiating the barricading of the memorials, even as veterans were arriving in D.C. on their "honor flights" to see the memorials that they built. Following the massacre of grammar-school children in Newtown, Conn., in December 2012, high-powered weapons have been used to kill innocent victims in more senseless public incidents. Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators. Legislatures are in a far better position than judges to assess the

The Obama administration said Friday that it would block Iran’s nominee as ambassador to the United Nations from entering the United States, setting up a new confrontation with Tehran just as relations with the Islamic republic appeared to be improving. The decision to bar entry to the diplomat, who was allegedly involved in the 1979 seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, followed intense political pressure on the administration from Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill. But it also marked a rare instance in which Washington has effectively vetoed another country’s preferred choice as envoy to the United Nations. Iran

Struggling homeowners across the country could face significant new tax bills if they receive mortgage relief from their banks, a prospect that threatens to slow the housing recovery and put further strain on distressed borrowers. The collapse of the housing market and plunging home prices left millions of people stuck owing more on their mortgages than their homes were worth. Some have worked with their banks to reduce the loan amount to avoid foreclosure or enable a sale. In 2007, Congress adopted a law that spared those homeowners from being taxed on the amount of the loan that was forgiven. But

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov.
