ABC News, by Lesley Messer

Original Article

Posted By:NorthernDog, 1/22/2014 8:15:02 PM

It´s over for Toni Tennille and Daryl Dragon. The singing duo of Captain & Tennille are headed for divorce. According to paperwork obtained by ABC News, Tennille, 73, filed for divorce from Dragon, 71, in Arizona on Jan. 16. The couple had been married for nearly 40 years. In the 70s, Tennille and Dragon toured with the Beach Boys, for whom Dragon played the keyboard. (It was Beach Boys lead singer Mike Love who reportedly gave him the nickname "Captain.") Together, they released a number of hits, including "Love Will Keep Us Together," "Do That To Me One More Time"

Comments:
I guess Muskrat Love couldn´t keep them together.

I guess even muskrats fall out of love. I used to listen to their music when I was young. Man I am older than dirt. Good luck to them both. They made it a lot longer than most celebrities. M

She had an amazing voice. I always thought it was wasted on that bubble gum music. Would have loved to hear her sing more sultry things, like "Fever".
Sorry to hear they are getting divorced. I confess to not having heard of them in 30 years or more.

I guess, from comments, that they covered Muskrat Love?

Because I remember that as being an America song

That being said, how can you divorce after 40 years? Hubby and I are reaching 35 this year, and after all these years, I can´t imagine life without him. That´s a lot of years to discard.

And seriously, it took them 39 years to figure out they weren´t meant to be married? Oh well.

Something to be said for their financial situation when divorce seems to be the only answer. What is wrong with this scenario? Our health care system or lack there of or fly by night attorneys knocking down your door. Chances are they will split legally and stay together without the state´s blessing or license. After 40 years she cannot walk away from him leaving him to fend for himself. Out of sight is out of mind. Haven´t thought of them in forever. Very sad to come so far. Article is very short on details. Children? Is she throwing him under the bus? Hardly think so and shame on the reporter if he is the one connecting the illness with the divorce.Good luck to the two of them and do send up prayers for the Captain and his health. She is 73? OMG Aging like fine wine. Where has time gone? The "Langoliers" and the alternate universe. Thank you for the music and memories.

Chef Vered Guttman braved the challenge of preparing a White House Passover seder in line with Michelle Obama´s healthy eating guidelines and lived to tell her story. "The traditional seder fare is hardly fresh or healthy," Guttman wrote in a post-dinner review about incorporating vegetable sides to "offset some of the Jewish carbs" like gefilte fish and matzo ball soup. And her hard work to keep it healthy paid off, as both the President and First Lady praised her quinoa-kale salad and even inquired after the recipe. It had been scheduled for a vote Wednesday evening in the Senate, where the party holds a slim one-seat majority. The move came after Sen.
