The Chef Who Brought Down
Bob McDonnell Tells All

Todd Schneider didn’t like the first table the maître d’ showed us. It was on the patio at Indigo Restaurant, right by the main entrance, and would leave Schneider exposed to gawkers on Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale’s Rodeo Drive—not ideal for a guy who decided he needed to go into hiding more than a year ago. [snip] “How the hell did I get caught up in all this? That’s the million-dollar question.”

Comments:
I thought this might be interesting as it´s a story coming from the McDonnell´s chef.

The chef is a real character. However, I will give him credit for keeping records after the mansion Director warned him to "cover his butt." I believe all the pilfering of groceries, goodies by the McDonnell kids would have been blamed on him. Words fail me about the McDonnells. It´s like a very bad movie.

This story proves once again that there is no honor among thieves.

For the movie: Meryl Streep as Maureen, maybe, or some generic blonde actress; but for McDonnell, I vote for Greg Kinnear. Of course, it would be made by Oliver Stone or Harvey Weinstein.

MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell recalled on Monday some of the most impactful State of the Union addresses in the recent past, focusing primarily on George W. Bush’s post-9/11 speech in which he called North Korea, Iraq, and Iran members of an “Axis of Evil.” Mitchell ripped into Bush and former Secretary of State Colin Powell for approving that remark which alienated Iran, a country she said had been “more or less an American ally.” Washington Post reporter Chris Cillizza said that the “Axis of Evil” address was among the most important State of the Union addresses delivered in recent memory. “That

Obama to Raise Minimum Wage

WASHINGTON — President Obama plans to sign an executive order requiring that janitors, construction workers and others working for federal contractors be paid at least $10.10 an hour, using his own power to enact a more limited version of a policy that he has yet to push through Congress. The order, which Mr. Obama will highlight in his annual State of the Union address on Tuesday night, is meant to underscore an increasing willingness by the president to bypass Congress if lawmakers continue to resist his agenda, aides said. After a year in which most of his legislative priorities went nowhere,

Of all the troubling aspects of the Obama presidency, none is more dangerous than the president´s persistent pattern of lawlessness, his willingness to disregard the written law and instead enforce his own policies via executive fiat. On Monday, Mr. Obama acted unilaterally to raise the minimum wage paid by federal contracts, the first of many executive actions the White House promised would be a theme of his State of the Union address Tuesday night. The president´s taste for unilateral action to circumvent Congress should concern every citizen, regardless of party or ideology. The great 18th-century political philosopher Montesquieu observed: "There can

President Barack Obama delivered a State of the Union Address on Tuesday that was important less for what he said than for what it says about him. The speech was long, more than an hour. At times it was defiant, at others it felt almost conciliatory. But mostly the speech was forgettable, disposable – a long list of modest policy proposals that will not be remembered for much longer than their echo in the House chamber. On domestic policy, we knew what to expect. The stars of last year’s speech – immigration and gun control – were mere afterthoughts this year,

Malik Obama is Barack Obama’s half-brother, but he is close enough to the president to have been the best man at Barack and Michelle’s wedding. He has also visited the White House, and is president of the Barack H. Obama Foundation. It’s at the BHO Foundation website that Malik Obama has posted this curious photo.(Snip for photo) The Barack H. Obama Foundation was fast-tracked to IRS tax-exempt status at the same time that the IRS was abusing numerous Tea Party and conservative groups. While those groups’ tax-exempt applications were taking two years and mountains of paperwork and invasive queries about their

A year after saying it didn’t matter what sparked the vicious attack on the US diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Hillary Rodham Clinton is calling the incident the “biggest regret” of her stint as secretary of state.“My biggest, you know, regret is what happened in Benghazi,” Clinton told an auto dealers conference in New Orleans on Monday. Clinton didn’t acknowledge any particular blunder in the days or weeks leading up to the 2012 siege that resulted in the deaths of four Americans. Critics blame unmet security requests by the tragic US Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, who was killed in the attack. Clinton

It´s a good thing I remembered where I stored all my old ski gear, including the thermal underwear that I hadn´t worn in years. I´ve needed it during a season in which even the Deep South has seen an epidemic of frozen pipes, single-digit temperatures and school cancellations without snow. School kids were allowed to stay home for a day or two because, according to administrators, the weather was too doggone cold. The deep freeze might have forced most of us into a shoulder-hunching slouch, but it prompted an Easter Parade-like promenade by a crew of familiar climate change skeptics

It started out like dozens of other interviews after Tuesday night’s State of the Union address. But when NY1 reporter Mike Scotto decided to press Rep. Michael Grimm on his personal campaign finances, the Republican congressman abruptly ended the interview. “This is only about the president’s speech, thank you,” Grimm says before walking off camera. It’s certainly not the first time a politician has walked out during a live interview. But what happened next is shocking even to the most jaded observer. After Stotto returns to his report, Rep. Grimm, a former FBI agent and Marine, suddenly storms back into

On Tuesday evening, Fox contributor Erick Erickson responded to Greta Van Susteren‘s blog post calling him a “jerk” with a blog post of his own. In a RedState post, Erickson gave thanks to Van Susteren for turning the country’s attention to “abortion lover” and Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, by way of attacking him. Van Susteren was incensed by several of Erickson’s tweets referring to Davis as “Abortion Barbie” and using condescending language towards the female lawmaker. “I don’t care how much you disagree or agree with Texas’ Wendy Davis, you have to agree that this guy, Erick Erickson, is a real

The Queen’s household finances were at a “historic low” with just £1 million left in reserve, MPs said on Monday. Her courtiers were advised to take money-saving tips from the Treasury. A report by the Commons public accounts committee found that the Queen’s advisers were failing to control her finances while the royal palaces were “crumbling”. MPs said her advisers had overspent to such an extent that her reserve fund had fallen from £35 million in 2001 to just £1 million today. The Royal household had made efficiency savings of just 5 per cent over the past five years compared

Following President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, former George W. Bush speechwriter Mark Thiessen told Fox News Channel’s “The Kelly File” host Megyn Kelly that Obama’s speech plagiarized lines from Bush’s 2007 speech, for which he said he was the lead speechwriter. “It was eerily familiar,” Thiessen said. “There were lines like, ‘Our job is to help Americans build a future of hope and opportunity. A future of hope and opportunity begins with a growing economy. A future of hope and opportunity requires our citizens have affordable and available health care.’

Mitt Romney praised New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Tuesday for his “strong LBJ-type leadership style.” In an interview with Neil Cavuto on Fox Business Network, Romney confirmed an earlier report that Christie wanted Romney’s 2012 campaign team to clear with him who Romney would raise money with in New Jersey. Cavuto asked Romney if that depicted Christie as a bully—a criticism he’s faced in recent weeks as details of the bridge and Sandy recovery funding scandals unfold--but Romney spun it as a positive trait. “No, I consider it to be a strong LBJ-type leadership style,” Romney replied. “I
